If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

Afternoon tea was meh but the company was good. Afternoon cocktails don’t suit me though

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 07:51

Ooh I love aldi. We don’t have one here but I love the middle aisle of joy.

Wfh today. Dh has the day off with the kids. They’re going to dparents. Dm has been growing buterflies so the kids are going to release them.

Im still waiting to be contacted for a test. But follow instructions and hold off until 12 then call up again and see what I can do.

Also need to re book my second jab.

I’ve cancelled Pilates this week just in case. Would rather cancel now than on the day. Won’t lose a class this way.

Work are discussing when I can go back to the office. Technically I can go tomorrow. But I have a feeling they might want me to wait until I’ve had a test and had the results. Either way that’s their decision and I have to respect it. I’ve said I’m happy to be led by them and do whatever. I was expecting to go back in a week tomorrow so no issues.

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 08:08

Carbonara was actually 30% off but 5 packs of fondant fancies & 2 pots of carbonara for €3.15 vs €10.03

Pity afternoon tea was a letdown

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 10:38

oh god i love a fondant fancy.... childhood memories right there.

that and soreen malt loaf (or Yomo as dm calls it - maybe a west country thing? not sure?)

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 11:03

Soreen I've only come across in Iceland recently, runners swear by it for energy.

Fondant fancies are relatively low cal that's why I like them portion control

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 11:28

I did not know they were low cal. Am buying.

I bloody love soreen. Iceland do the indicvidusl bars. So yum. The dc love the Apple ones and banana ones but I’m a traditionalist. Yellow one all the way.

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 11:38

104 kcal per piece so just low cal because of their teeny size

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 11:39

I had banana individual soreen lately yuck 🤮

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 13:20

Bought soreen. Dh “wouldn’t let” me buy fancies. Because essentially he’d eat the whole pack.

I did get biscoff though. Mmmm

Wolfcub · 05/07/2021 15:06

Eat well for less klaxon Thursday 8pm

HumbugWhale · 05/07/2021 16:39

Eat well for less klaxon Thursday 8pm
Hooray!

Our dcs like the new vegetable screen. There's a beetroot one and a carrot and orange one. Currently on offer in Tesco.

Unescorted · 05/07/2021 17:10

Banana Soreen is grim. The plain is loads better.

Thanks for the heads up wolf... I may have to save it becuse there is TdF and Love Island to schedule in.

In Covid News.... we did our PCRs today (results tomorrow or day after) while sticking random bits up our noses we did LFTs too.... DD is +ve, so far I am -ve, but have had a headache and a cough develop. DD is doing her best Scarlet O'Hara impression & is laid out on the sofa watching TV. Even if you have been stabby jabbed - take care people DD is single jabbed and I am double jabbed.

Em Banana Soreen is nice with Anchor butter spread on it
gaily missing the point of eating Soreen at all
In fact l have yet to find anything that is not made more palatable by a lovely Anchor butter skimming Grin

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2021 17:56

OMG Happier l hope it works out for you , Schull town looks absolutely gorgeous too! Fingers crossed Smile
37 in Aldis , bought Mozzerella sticks x 12 boxes , they are rare as hens teeth here until Christmas so l get them in bulk when l see them! Grin

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 18:24

I have a test booked although contact tracing still haven’t been in touch.

Sigh.

But Wednesday evening is my test. By which time it’ll have been a week since last contact. So that’ll be my day zero test.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/07/2021 19:59

Banana Envy

ememem84 · 05/07/2021 22:00

Dh did a food shop. No idea how much.

I spent £23 in boots and £10 Iceland. And £55 dunelm. Initially chopping boards. But then I saw a foldaway desk. So bought that too. If I can maybe have a proper desk to sit at if she and I are both wfh things may be easier. Might set it up in dds room or might have space in ours. But only on wfh days. It should arrive next week.

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 22:25

Mrsmadevans it's all arranged spoke to her this evening, another single mum, her twin boys and her sister, I'm delighted. Feels like a really grown up decision to make I didn't have to consult anyone Grin

€61 on diesel. Couldn't find my fuel card so had to pay, obviously I've to pay fuel card too but only twice a month and 4c less per litre Sad

Thanks for this, I have a lot of uniform to buy this year!
Unescorted · 06/07/2021 07:20

Uniforms are something I am not missing.

Happier may there be many more grown up decisions Grin I can't remember your original user name beyond it being of the sentiment of "I am not good enough". You have come so far.

So this morning do I tell my parents that DD is positive and get my bro to deliver our shopping, but put up with several calls a day for updates (we are already getting 4-5 per day) OR do I go freezer diving?

OP posts:
ememem84 · 06/07/2021 07:34

unescorted I’d go freezer diving. And then turn phones off.

Mrsmadevans · 06/07/2021 09:09
