flappy I've the cheaper aldi coloured boards, no-one uses them according to what they're for but they always go into dishwasher so I guess that's ok.

em well done on the deadlifts #nextyearsgoals
life hope ds is better for hols
wreck will he get the message or just step over them?
Aldi greek yogurt tubs have leaked on me in the past so I only use them if contents are still frozen or dry.

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 16:40

Thanks life.

CurlsandCurves · 15/08/2018 16:43

Phew!

Packed for hols, 4 loads of washing done, last bit of ironing, floors cleaned and I’m done!

Can I show you my holiday nails? I’m very pleased with them. Nothing like I would have chosen myself but my nail lady is very creative and very persuasive!

flappy I have a set of those boards. My bro gave them to us about 8 years ago and they have been dishwashed most days since. I have a larger wooden board that gets more use. Ideally I would have the coloured ones the same size as the wooden one.

I work on the premise that I only put things on here I am comfortable telling anyone. It is not gossip worthy if everyone knows everything so I am just really upfront about everything. My kids call it my "and the point is caller....?" look when someone tries to embarrass me by repeating something they have heard about me. "And the issue is?" Usually shuts the conversation down if they persist. I can't stand malicious gossip. My mother drives me up the wall with her need to make a story about of any event. She is forever getting 5.

Bornlazy · 15/08/2018 18:21

Curls your nails are amazing! Perfect for a holiday, are you off somewhere nice?

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 18:29

Lovely nails.

Me too Mammy, more weights next year. Nice one em

Ds has also up chucked. I now need a new door mat. He has gone to bed now, voluntarily

Bornlazy · 15/08/2018 18:33

Just did the one day travel insurance to get the Meerkats 2 for1 on meals out. So excited as one of our favourite local restaurants is included in it Smile

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 18:34

Sorry to hear that life. I hope we don't get any more gastro bugs. I don't think we could manage another one after this summer's entertainment. Not for a good while anyway.

Wolfcub · 15/08/2018 18:35

Quite I’m a massive strictly fan but apart from DJJ I’m not interested in any of this year’s stars so far.

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 18:40

Ooh wolf can I pick your brains please... How do you arrange board games?! We have them all in kallax now but I have no idea what order. By title? Publisher? Theme? Mechanism? Size? I am very excited to have them all on display but totally overthinking the How and getting myself all in a flap. They are just shoved on any old how so far. I hope you get to keep what games you want, I know you said many are H's.

WreckTangled · 15/08/2018 18:42

Oh no life I can't stand sick. Luckily it's been almost five years since our last one.

Bornlazy · 15/08/2018 18:46

DS2 is a puker. Now that he's older he mostly makes it to the toilet but I always keep a sick bowl (celebration tub) handy just in case.

Wolfcub · 15/08/2018 18:48

Cag, good question. So downstairs is/was mainly games played as a whole family/couple including the quick play games. Upstairs were the horror themes games of h’s, the large format (long boxes) that don’t fit in normal furniture. We don’t have kallax so downstairs they are in a glass door sideboard and are therefore arranged in the way I think is most visually appealing with smaller games filling gaps it’s higgledy piggeldy and pleasing. But I’m an organisation nut so if I has kallax they’d be alphabetical

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/08/2018 18:58

H just let the rice for my mothers dinner burn while he was standing beside it because he thought it was for me and then calls out 'mammy did you mean to burn the rice in the saucepan' I eventually murmured 'obviously not' ffs he was standing beside it!!

Flappyjack · 15/08/2018 19:06

unescorted the reviews of the chopping boards did say they were on the small side. I am going to hide our wooden one at the back of the cupboard and see if we can manage.

mammy I need a service on my car too but will probably wait until October. I always hate spending on the car though - sorry car!

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 19:17

Can I show you a lovely youtube video that I found? I'm watching it over and over which is costing me nothing, so frugal, but also lovely.

Laska5772 · 15/08/2018 20:00

I have 'frugally' this week bought some vastly reduced harems/joggers from Hush (£49 down to £13)which came in in black and white stripe and dyed them , I now have some fab black and purple ones and some black and grey just in the process now.

Food - wise this week (it only me here to cook for during the week) I have been on a curry craze and have been making a lot of recipes out of Meera Sodha's 'Made in India' and 'Fresh India'.. These books have been out for some time and I am late to the party , but they are so good if you like Indian food. tonight I made her Simple Spiced Cabbage and added some cooked chicken and coconut to it .. it was really quick to do and lovely.

Otherwise today I have only spent £18.50 plus tip on getting my hair cut , (pixie cut so need to get it done every 4/5 weeks) and £5.40 on Dylon machine dye

Um mammy and I wonder why you had enough of him. Remember he was like this before you kicked him to the kerb too. Don't accidentally ruin any of his stuff now.

Did my Asda order £214!!! This is 1/3 of the monthly budget, so we shall see how it goes! The idea is this goes the best part into September. All fresh food/meat/dairy will account for the rest of the budget.

So after work dd1 and I went to sainsburys. Two pairs of my fave high waist skinny jeans (size 10 now to account for my stone gain Blush) a nice blue checky tunic top, 2 pairs of school trousers and pants for ds. Two lunch boxes and a cool 1 cup flask for me £81. Used my birthday money, very happy. Got 3x nectar coupon as I put the £19 food through first Grin.

Then lidl £18. Mostly pastries. Not really, but thats why we went! I had a chicken korma ready meal for tea. Which was quite nice.

Dp gets a gold star today for skipping out the fridge and cleaning it prior to delivery of fodder tomorrow.

I'm not going to namechange. I am what I am. I've had this name since we had a troll who said we were whiny saddos, secretly bragging about our wealth! Yeah, right.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 20:26

Nice nails Curls. Enjoy your holiday!
Life, hope your ds feels better soon and is just a one-off.
Take, thank you for the video, it was very nice to watch after having a day of sorting and changing rooms around.
Laska, I have a pixie cut too! I had it cut quite short a couple of years ago and never looked back, yes the upkeep is a bit more, but I suffer from migraines and since having it short, they have massively reduced, so definitely worth it!

Wolfcub · 15/08/2018 20:26

Mammy I applaud your patience I think I’d have wrapped the pan around his head
