No cag not yet. It's usually end of August when the partner everyone up so they can train for a couple of weeks before the first show.

Hi thistime

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 12:59

Welcome ThisTime!

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 13:15

Has anybody else tried to buy a musical instrument through their school? I understand that it's cheaper that way, being VAT-free, but the child has to be having lessons at school. Is that right?

We're currently renting a French horn, and I would like to buy one through school, but there is no brass tuition or orchestra, so I'm not sure how that would work.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 13:16

Hello thistime
Summer can really shoot the costs up-fresh salady stuff,we eat tons of fruit and then days out all add up.
Cag they are just announcing the contestants at this point.Am so excited !

I read about TaljinPeace changing name slightly for each thread and having had a lurker stalker who reads my posts and then talks about it in RL ,cant be a coincidence I like the idea of a little name change for the new tbread.
Yes they could spends hours reading back and working it out but Im not goingto make it so easy that they can just search under one name... 😎

ememem84 · 15/08/2018 13:22

Waiting for ddad to come back and pick me up. The fuss getting ds’ cot in his car was unbelievable.

I’ve just bagged up my stuff and am going to throw it in the bac of his car. He’s scolded me for not being prepared. Thanks dh. Apparently you’re never too old to a) be told off by your parent (34 almost) or to tell your child off (ddad is 69).

Sigh.

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 13:25

That sounds awful Quite. I always think of the frugaleers as a safe place for a chat, but you're quite right that it could be being read by anyone.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 13:29

Unbelievable em I bet DH gets man of the year award for getting out of bed.

Deep breaths and Brew

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 13:30

I think it is the friendliness and that we "know" each other but wise to remember anyone can read this ...

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 13:36

The biggest thing about the frugaleers for me is that even in the depth of winter and even in the night time, there's almost always someone around for a chat. The trick is to enjoy that chat without saying too much and ending up exposed.

I learn so much about money here, and it wouldn't feel right running my budget without the frugaleers to talk to about it, but the chat, when there is no one else around, is really great.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 13:44

Thanks for the new thread Quite.
Aiming for a NSD. Will spend the day indoors as my DD is a bit poorly.
Hopefully will still be able to finish moving their bedroom around.
Have a good Wednesday, everyone.

Laska5772 · 15/08/2018 14:19

Flappy That joseph stuff does look sturdy though. It should last years.

50p dusky pink round soap dish for the ensuite. I already had a scented round soap for it in my stash. Ceramic so it can go through the dishwasher when it gets manky.

£1 750g dolmio bol sauce in poundland. I'll get three servings out of that for dh & reuse the jar to store stuff in.

£1 American cup measures for baking in poundland. Sainsburys wanted £5 Shock

I just need some Tupperware to batch cook soups and freeze. I looked today and it was so expensive. Also a baking sheet for pitta breads.

WreckTangled · 15/08/2018 14:48

Wilko and the range do good Tupperware type bra fluffy

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/08/2018 15:14

Dh still hasn't folded the washing he did on Saturday. I've now dumped it on his side of the bed as I needed the washing basket to do some more washing Hmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 15:39

That's a good idea quite as we go through 4 of those a week.

He's asleep on the sofa next to me now. I fully expected then to say no tbh but any bairns. The manager was lovely.

Flappyjack · 15/08/2018 15:40

I usually buy any old tupperware because it turns orange or the lids go missing...

I am in such a spendy mood and bored today. Might go and sort some clothes instead.
