ememem84 · 15/08/2018 11:26

Thanks ma love!

At work at present. Nsd for me today. Dh bought me a coffee and danish. Didn’t spill coffee this time!

Half day today. Yay.

Not sure if I mentioned that last night at the gym I did deadlifts for the first time. Lifted 40kg. Which is more than half my body weight. I asked trainer not to tell me how much I was lifting until we’d finished our session. Pretty pleased with myself. #strongnotskinny

Thanks for new thread and love your new name Quite

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 11:35

Any Strictly superfans ?
Bit meh about the line up so far .

Flappyjack · 15/08/2018 11:44

quite your emojis at the end made me laugh.

Very unfrugal, impulse purchase this morning on a set of 4 Joseph Joseph chopping boards £29.99. They were reduced down from £51.00. I've had my eye on them for a while because they are neat, dishwasher size and colour coordinated to food i.e. raw meat gets chopped on the red board. I bought them because I am fed up of wiping down the chopping board after DH twice a day and I don't want to argue about it. I figured £29.99 is cheaper than marriage counselling.

If this post sounds like I am feeling guilty, its because I am. And I put it on the almost cleared credit card. Yikes.

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 11:47

I name-changed too. I'm still breathing though.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 11:50

😁 happy to have made you laugh Flappy
Can you pay off when next statement comes ? #sensible

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/08/2018 11:51

I think Im going to name change a bit for each new thread.
Waves to lurkers Grin

SnugglySnerd · 15/08/2018 11:54

Thanks for new thread. Got the name changes!

Yes I'm a big Strictly fan. I haven't heard of many of this year's contestants so far though. I think I'm too old for vloggers and Capital Radio!

Just got 18-24 month clothes down from the loft for the dts. We have a lot! Have already sorted one bag for the charity shop. I'm now sorting it into stuff to wash and start using and winter warm stuff to put back into the loft for hopefully a few more months. It's interesting how the supermarket clothes will fit now but the posher brands like Next or M&S still look enormous!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 11:55

Thanks bandit, title is fine

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 11:57

Who else is on the line up. I only heard about the acid victim?

SnugglySnerd · 15/08/2018 12:10

Joe Sugg (apparently he's famous on YouTube), Faye from Steps, the guy who was Cat on Red Dwarf and a radio dj I've never heard of.

Flappyjack · 15/08/2018 12:11

quite yes! As soon as I get paid I will add an extra £40 to the standing order: £30 for the chopping boards, £10 penance fee 😁

I am a bit late to the table with Strictly but I did watch a lot of it last year. DS2 loves the music and DFriend is a superfan and has been in the audience so I think I will be watching too.

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/08/2018 12:14

DD1 loves strictly, so I guess we do too now. I think I will NC later too as you are all doing it. Now need a new name....

Flappyjack · 15/08/2018 12:16

snuggly I looked at a pair of PJs for DS2 in Sainsburys yesterday and they were tiny. Maybe the supermarket stuff is cheaper because they use less fabric. Or maybe I think this because DS2 is a lump. Dunno.

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 12:40

Good idea Bandit. I'll do that too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 12:40

Oh I love red dwarf. Danny John-Jules isn't it.

£35 Aldi, £11 iceland, reduced Sainsbury's order by £11.
Cinema later £20 plus treats.

Think I'm due a name change but I quite like this one

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 12:41

Thanks for new thread! I should probably namechange but what if I have to stop calling them Caglets?!

I am steeling myself to take DD to gym later.

Online food shopping is brilliant. I pay very little for delivery as I have one that is only for tues-thurs.

thistimenextsummer · 15/08/2018 12:43

Hello friendly frugaleers! Lurker here hoping to join for a fresh start in September if I may?

I like to think I'm fairly sensible with money (have savings pots for Christmas, car etc) but summer and holidays seem to catch me out every year. Determined to set a bit aside for next year.

Oh and I do love a bit of strictly but never seem to watch it all the way through (I blame the small children!!)

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 12:44

Love strictly here, it's the reason DD started ballroom nearly 4 years ago! Have we missed a show then, we have dodgy TV signal here so that plus no wifi means we are a bit cut off.

The others did some more tidying this morning while I rested. Living room looks even bigger yay!
