That's an impressive gain from just a haircut curvy. Why does it help, do you think?

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 20:32

Ah lonely. I hope you don't feel the same as you did back then though which prompted the change.

I have a pixie style cut but clearly go to an expensive salon. No one else seems able to cut it right though. Every 6 weeks.

Looking at NHS web it has the sypmtom of a migraine. He was devastated at the thought of not being well enough to fit though.

SnugglySnerd · 15/08/2018 20:35

Didn't manage and NSD and tomorrow won't be either. Maybe Friday!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/08/2018 20:36

*fly

LonelyOversharer · 15/08/2018 20:37

No life I can confidently say I am a different person now. Having a lovely bunch of people to chat to and chew things over has helped me so much.

I hope your ds will be well enough to travel, have a great off-line holiday too! You too curves, have a great time.

TakeItSlow · 15/08/2018 20:37

My ds has done really well in his trial period on the French horn and we're going to buy him his own and return the rental one. I'm chuffed that he's done so well. It turns out that dh is a good horn teacher. I had no idea. There isn't anyone here who knows about French horns is there?

Laska5772 · 15/08/2018 20:45

Life* I used to go to an Aveda salon and it would cost me £40 at least. then was recommended a little place down the road a couple of years ago., Doesnt have any posh affiliated products and the stylist just seems a natural at short choppy hair.. cheap also ! but I only have wash and cut..though sh ecan never resit putting wax in . I colour my own hair..
curvy i can understand that , I get migraines also ( but luckily not crashing headache based ones) , but yes its the 'weight' of hair on my neck ,and forehead and feeling hair in my eyes in my case which would make it feel worse

ememem84 · 15/08/2018 20:46

curls fab nails!!!!

mammy I didn’t even know I could lift! So proud of myself.

curvy migraines are horrible aren’t they? If I have my hair tied too tight I get them. Messy loose buns all the way instead of polished tight ponies and tight plaits.

We are packed. I am exhausted.

Catface is installed in dparents box room. She’s scared. But is ok. Against dparents wishes I’ve left food water and litter in the room with her. They don’t want her upstairs at night but it’s better for her to get settled.

Ds took come encouraging to go to sleep - more excited than anything else. He’s slept in “his” (dsis’ old room) for ages now during the day. Never overnight. But familiar room, his own bed etc. So it should be fine.

Dh is also exhausted. he will get a slap if he moans how tired he is

I’ve packed most of our stuff away. And when I say packed I mean shoved it in a cupboard. Dm is happy with this. On the proviso that I unpack and sort properly at the weekend.

Laska5772 · 15/08/2018 20:46

lonely so glad about your contract and that you are liking your job ..

northender · 15/08/2018 20:52

Another new thread! Marking my spot from a Brittany Ferry. Spain has been fabulous, will catch up properly soon.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 15/08/2018 20:53

Spends today:

£11 on some pretty small serving bowls.
£18 supermarket
£1 parking
£18 on a top; have to try it on at home with a pair of trousers before I decide if I'm keeping it or not, but if I keep it, it will be quite a frugal outfit for an event I have coming up. Make up is off now though and hair is wet so I won't be trying it on till tomorrow.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 20:56

Take, I think it was probably because my hair was pretty long but thick and I had to have it tied back, couldn't stand it in my face with cooking and stuff. But would have it down and straightened for going out.
The sun and heat makes my migraines worse, so my hair was always up in the summer but the weight of my hair made my head hurt, but I stupidity put up with it because I thought short hair wouldn't suit me.
Then one day I was talking to someone about my migraines and they said the best thing they ever did was getting their hair cut, and as she was a similar build and weight to be I took the plunge and I will never have long hair again.

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 20:56

Fab dye job laska they look great!

That is so bizarre about the haircut reducing the migraines. Life hopefully it was just a random puking but DD started on migraines at a similar age as did DH. He recognised it in DD instantly as they had the same progression and trigger (stress - DD's stopped as soon as she left school).

Fab about the French horn. What is on the video please, I can't stream anything ATM.

I managed to get DD to gym but made the mistake of letting DS push me and baby on the roundabout briefly, and consequently felt incredibly sick for about 2 hours after Blush.

Still trying to figure out what to do about the relapse though - need some research into BF safe drugs. And have to be careful about drowsiness as she ends up in with me at 4am or so. But just to throw a spanner in the works, a friend suggested going on the pill. As pregnancy hormone changes worked wonders for my pain levels, maybe something like that would help. I have never been keen on the idea but I am desperate TBH.

Seeing friends for a picnic tomorrow, I suggested the park by our house so people can come and have a nosy around too. There may be around 20 extra people in here at some point!

Thanks for the thoughts on game organisation wolf I shall keep pondering! I would quite like a grid reference system eg ticket to ride is in B3 or something #ubernerd. Not the biggest priority right now but welcome distraction!

WreckTangled · 15/08/2018 20:57

Em you've done the right thing with Catface it's best to keep everything in one room with the cat for the first few days. You're right ds must be excited and confused!

Mammy what a twat.

Dh folded the washing hooray! He's come home in a much better mood (his boss game him about 25% of the money he owes him).

Dh also just asked me why I was mopping the floor as I only did it last week Confused

WreckTangled · 15/08/2018 20:58

Also the nails are awesome! I would love nice nails but mine always break and are generally shit.

I used to get migraines a lot as a teen and when pregnant. Don't get them often now though.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 21:10

Life, have a good holiday too.
I'm so sorry so many of you also suffer from migraines, it can be really tough.
Cag, I don't know what health issues you have, but I hope you can find something that works for you.
Wreck the only time I didn't get them when when I was pregnant, which was just as well as some of the meds I was on were pretty strong.

Wolfcub · 15/08/2018 21:11

Oooo grid reference system Cag, I like it!

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 21:20

I'll have to upload a 'shelfie' when I'm done wolf :o I still have to sort out what else is going in the kallax though, it's pretty much the only storage we have downstairs (toys are in trofast upstairs, our house is looking like an ikea catalogue) so also have books, piano music, home ed stuff...

Thank you curvy I have fibromyalgia, CFS/ME and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. It's the fibro pain that is flaring up big time, feels like I'm on fire :( bizarrely the recent surprise pregnancy pretty much obliterated my symptoms so this is my first relapse in a long time. It's weird how hormones seem to affect all sorts of other health issues isn't it?! I even know of people who have been able to give up wheelchairs after becoming pregnant. I wonder what it's like being a man with far less fluctuation in hormones Hmm

CurlsandCurves · 15/08/2018 21:23

mammy what an idiot, I’d be so annoyed.

em you got it done, yay! Knackered, but a good knackered I bet.

wreck for some reason I’ve never had migraines since my last pregnancy. Weird how they affect us all so differently.

Fluffy off to a Greek island with DH and the boys. We don’t spend much on ourselves or the house. DH is self employed and works 24/7. So 2 weeks together in the sun is the one thing we do save and pay for. The hotel we are staying in has its own water park with lots of cool slides so that’s the boys sorted. DH and I have the pool so and our kindles, bliss.

ememem84 · 15/08/2018 21:27

curls yup. The amazing I’ve achieved something sort of knackered. Because I have.

I’m in bed now. I forgot how comfy my bed was here. Yay! Am trying to encourage catface to come out of her hiding spot. But she’s happy. Lying belly up purring. She hasn’t eaten or used the litter yet. But she’s purring. Which is a good sign.

I left her food near her at her usual dinner time. I expect she’ll go exploring once we’ve all gone to bed.

Dh said thank you. We had to go back to the apartment to grab our bedding. He saw how much I’d done (I took before and after pictures). And was impressed. And admitted that he should have helped.

So that’s something I suppose.

I’ll be busy the day we decide to move in

Bornlazy · 15/08/2018 21:42

Cag be kind to yourself Flowers You have just had a baby and moved house two totally exhausting things for anyone let alone someone with CFS! I bet if someone had asked you a couple of years ago if you could imagine doing everything that you've done you would have said no.
Are you taking any painkillers at the moment to help with the pain?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 21:46

Oh cag that is an awful lot for you to deal with, you always seem so upbeat! I think I would be miserable all the time.
I had to Google POTS, I've never heard of it and that sounds like fun, not.
I apologise if you thought I was prying, that was not my intention.

I did manage a NSD today.

Cagliostro · 15/08/2018 23:05

Aw thanks both and no not prying at all!

Indeed born I said from the start to DH, if I get through this house move without a relapse it'll be a miracle :o so I was expecting it really. Just glad we got a lot of the unpacking done before it got to this point really! And I am so happy to be in our new home and it is much easier living here (as it should - my conditions are the reason we were put on band A as our old house was vastly unsuitable) :)

Just taking ibuprofen ATM, I was on amitriptyline before the pregnancy so may go back to that.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/08/2018 23:19

Phew cag.
I'm really pleased your new home is making you so happy, you deserve it.

Tuttytoffee · 15/08/2018 23:30

Hello all, I'm hoping to be joining you all soon in being frugal. As soon as my house move is done and dusted I am hiding my poor pathetic purse. Would be nice to have savings....
