£3.20 at the food fair (restrained myself) and £33 on a huge wall map to do up DS1's bedroom. £68 weekly food shop but this included a brushed cotton duvet set, sheet and pillow protectors. Aldi are selling slow cookers later this week for about £13 if anyone is interested.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2015 15:50

Fluffy guess what? I went to our local crappy tesco and they had loads of the daisy dishwasher powder! I was so excited to tell you I haven't even taken my shoes off yet Grin

Anyway £12 tesco on dishwasher stuff and toothbrush and paste for the bag of hope. The dishwasher is in!

AdoraBell · 05/09/2015 15:58

I've been trying get on to Tesco to order that dishwasher stuff but it never loads properly.

Fluffy would you mind if I ask, again sorry, how you make your pita breads please.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/09/2015 15:59

Yay! daisy powder is the shizzle. Well done that Dh.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/09/2015 16:03

I havent made them since last year, I low carb now. I think it used plain flour though, not strong.

Pointlessfan · 05/09/2015 16:39

Thanks blue but I'm nowhere near NI. I'm going to ask around though and see if somebody could lend me one.
Hope you feel better soon girlie.

needastrongone · 05/09/2015 16:41

Welcome porcupine We are a friendly and supportive bunch, lots of tips and shared support.

Happy Birthday pointless

girlie - Take care, migranes stink, I used to suffer badly.

northender I didn't post yesterday, but just wanted to mention how brave I think your DS has been. Having a 16 and 14 year old, I know it's such a tricky age (14 more so, IMHO). Having a solid and supportive friends is such a help. Long term, he will be glad, but it doesn't stop him having to go through the short term either. Flowers

I have a Chromebook, which is light, small and excellent. All the functions of a laptop, but £180, if new matters.

We have had a long day out in Pompei. Stunning. I am astounded how large the place was. A whole city wiped out in a matter of minutes, but still preserved. Very moving. The Roman architecture was breathtaking. The excavation process must have been pain staking.

Still under budget for the holiday overall but Sorrento is an expensive place to stay.

needastrongone · 05/09/2015 16:42

ps - £15 is a great price for riding lessons girlie, keep meaning to say that!!

Lollypop27 · 05/09/2015 16:50

Sorry I haven't been on this virus has really knocked it out of me. On the plus side I haven't spent any money. Dh went in to town for ds rugby boots £40, apples from the market £3 milk £1 and bread £1.

Mil is coming down tomorrow and is taking us for lunch. I've told dh that if I still feel ill I'm not going as I feel like shite.

babsmam · 05/09/2015 16:56

Hi porcupine.

Spent 19 in sainsbury on party stuff and baking stuff. Chicken hasn't defrosted so will save for tomorrow and get takeout in a bit. Naught but the results of piss poor planning

AdoraBell · 05/09/2015 17:17

Thanks fluffy

Happy birthday pointless Cake

girlfriend hope you feel better very soon.

need didn't realise you were in ItalyEnvy we cut our day at Pompie short as DD2 was burning in the sunshine and I've been itching to go back since, about 5 years now.

Am out shopping, will update later.

ipsos · 05/09/2015 17:46

Brilliant news on the dishwasher spotty. Enjoy the extra rest.

Flowers to all who are poorly.

I've had LSD except I got two photos printed at staples and they charges me £3.85 Shock. Won't be doing that again. Smile

I've had a cunning plan.I'm going to start doing a big grocery shop on the last day of each month so that my average expenditure per day at the beginning of next month is really low for ages. It encourages me to feel that I can keep the spending low. Grin

needastrongone · 05/09/2015 17:52

adora It sure was hot, and today was the first overcast day that we have had. Quite energy sapping when the sun did come out, and I can appreciate your DD burning. Mine being teens, that at least is easier. DD loved it, 16 year old DS tried to be interested, but that's as good as it gets with a teen DS Grin

ipsos · 05/09/2015 18:10

LOL! It's the 5th of the month and we've nearly filled up our thread of a thousand posts. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/09/2015 18:17

Happy birthday Pointless Flowers

Sorry you feel so ill Girlie. Migraines are awful.

Welcome Porcupine.

NSD & dh got the globes I ordered free so I got a £30 refund.

Girlfriend36 · 05/09/2015 18:17

Hi all am feeling bit better, painkillers kicked in eventually! Somehow managed to stand upright for dds riding lesson, Needa i know its good value although today her normal instructor was away and the replacement lady was rather less organised shall we say! I think the horses/pony knew as well as they all seemed to be naughty today! You are not in the South West are you? Maybe dd could have a go on your pony!

Had a little sleep this arvo and going to go out for a short while tonight, only an hour so so hopefully only one drink!

Wolfcub · 05/09/2015 18:44

Needastrongone, if you haven't already try Davide's for lovely pizza . And gelato at very reasonable prices. We got married in Sorrento (on a budget) and we were in there pretty much every day

Collieputthekettleon · 05/09/2015 18:46

eBay stuff have collectively reached almost £30. Still over 24 hours left on all the auctions but feeling very happy.

Have found more stuff to sell too! Including a pram. Smile

Lovetoknit · 05/09/2015 19:06

Happy Birthday pointless Cake
welcome Porcupine
hope you feel better soon Girlie
LSD today £1.60 for parking and £2.55 at Aldi for some sweets and drinks for dd and ds while we went to watch older dd dance at Cornish festival. It was supposed to be dry and sunny today and instead we had lot of heavy and rather long showers, so all of us got rather wet especially since we didn't bring coats just hoodies Blush Dd had a great time and got pasties and cake for tea Smile

Pointlessfan · 05/09/2015 19:07

Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes. Have just ordered a take away as my treat.
Pleased to hear you are on the mend girlie. I wish my knee was better so I could go riding again!

Collieputthekettleon · 05/09/2015 19:08

Oh my goodness.... Just went into the kitchen and noticed that my neighbour across the road was staring at me from her window. Straight at me! I need blinds. Asap.

Just had a quick look on Argos and they are around £35 for the size we need. Sad that's why we're selling on eBay I guess

Collieputthekettleon · 05/09/2015 19:10

lovetoknit yeah its been rubbish weather today! Glorious sunshine down at Porthtowan though and completely blue sky here now. Smile

Whatabout · 05/09/2015 19:39

Collie - do you have a Dunelm Mill? We buy our blinds from there and have been really pleased.

blueteapot · 05/09/2015 20:06

Another vote for daisy dishwasher powder (we are a third of the way through our second box since nov, I measure it out with an old baby milk scoop and run it 1-2x per day!)

Also dunelm blinds are fab, recently installed a dotty roller one in the madeover kitchen but it just looks into our garden. What kind of blinds are you after though for daytime privacy? Venetians? Verticals? What size do you need? There are some trendy net fabrics around these days as a cheaper alternative... and also glass frosting film x

NK5BM3 · 05/09/2015 20:11

Hello! Happy birthday pointless! Enjoy your takeaway!

Today spent £12 on lunch. Then Aldi was £37 or something like that.

Have a face mask on now. Tired.
