I forgot to say thanks for the new thread and I also love autumn! Payday tomorrow and we finished with £60 spare. Bloody shocking!

So happy Grin

Our current machine was from argos at £199 a crappy bush one which was an emergency purchase as the old one died and argos could do next day delivery, had it 18 months and it's only ok. Washes take too long for my liking (3.5 hours for a standard 40 degree wash) but its a* energy rated and will do until it dies off. Dp's mum recommended to try ao.com as she got her cooker tv and washing machine from there and says their service has been fantastic. Oven light went out 6 months after buying it and they came out and replaced it within 48 hours.

blueteapot · 27/08/2015 18:42

We recently bought an indesit innex off ao.com which is fab, theres a 10 yr parts guarantee as well. Cashback through quidco too x

Collieputthekettleon · 27/08/2015 18:45

laska thanks for the tip about Pringle socks! And have a fab time in Brighton. I've never been. I sometimes wonder if it would suit us as we miss London but miss the sea too. The job market there is fantastic for us. Much higher salaries (and property prices!)

peppansalt · 27/08/2015 18:56

blueteapot.... was looking at the Indesit models on AO.com. Do they really come with a full 10 year guarantee??

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2015 18:58

If you've got the time and stomach for it you could complain to the company you bought it off, MSE advise you to do that if a machine dies.

I mean a washing machine should last for 10 years should it?. I got the dishwasher off a builders merchants (blandfords in Oxford) and it was £390 cheaper than other online retailers.

Frugal win on the shoes laska, I handwashed two dresses on monday and they have both come up like new. Plus they both still fit so no shrinkage. £30 saved.

Whatabout · 27/08/2015 18:58

Appliances online are wonderful, I pay £2.99 a month for cover for my dryer, when it dies they give me a new one :/) customer service is excellent.

Joining in the thanks for the new thread and autumn love !

Laska42 · 27/08/2015 18:59

Collie Brighton is great , but is really expensive for houses .. You could try Shoreham ( where we used to live..) or Worthing, cheaper house prices ( though stil q expensive ) easy commutes into Brighton if you need ,direct trains, and Sea .. Smile

fuzzpig · 27/08/2015 19:01

Ahoy there! Sorry for posting on the old thread when it was closed. Bad fuzzpig. Blush :o

Laska42 · 27/08/2015 19:02

Yup fluffy i put them the washer 40 deg wash , usual washing liquid.. I was only going to chuck them anyway .took the insoles out of the shoes , but bunged them in the washer also . They are leather too!

Am really pleased .

Laska42 · 27/08/2015 19:04

Grin Fuzzpig we just didnt wanto lose you!

Pointlessfan · 27/08/2015 19:13

Welcome newcomers!
Dentist cost £32.50 to have my teeth sandblasted and hurt all my gums. I know it's good for me and I'm lucky to have an NHS dentist but I can think of far nicer ways to spend £32!
Otherwise it's been a very quiet day and I'm a bit bored.
We bought a very basic Indesit washing machine and it's fine but I wish I'd spent a bit more on one that had more options e.g. rinse hold, quick wash. My friend's has a child lock which would also be useful.
Supermarket and haircut tomorrow and hoping weather will be ok for a weekend outing of some sort. Probably NT as we are members.

Collieputthekettleon · 27/08/2015 19:21

Our washing machine is a cheap "whirlpool" from AO. It's fantastical! Child lock too. I love the Eco washes that actually work. Our Bosch had an eco wash and it was shit.

The cycle lengths are really good too.

pointless your dentist trip sounds unpleasant. At least it's done!

Ponders about Brighton thanks to laska

I would move in a heartbeat if I wasn't so terrified of the house selling process.

Savagebeauty · 27/08/2015 19:26

I have been a fool today.
Travelling back from a very short break to see new man I nisread train time for return journey.
Missed train.
Had to pay £96 for a replacement ticket.
Sad

Such an expensive month next month..dd off to uni so I get no money from ex, no Child benefit or child tax credits from September for her.
Waiting to hear what revised TC will be but am expecting very little.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2015 19:31

Oh that's a kick in the teeth. It'll never happen again though.

Welcome newbies.

northender · 27/08/2015 19:43

Welcome to newbies.
Thanks for the new thread lilac
LSD here today £10.99 on a 5 pound pack of mince, 99p on a pack of gammon offcuts, £1.50 eggs.

babsmam · 27/08/2015 19:45

Hi newbies and thanks for the new thread although it isn't September until Tuesday.

33 on a haircut yesterday.
79 in flaming sainsburys although no dc meant no shopping last week so a bit saved there.
September is going to be horrible with school meals, dance fees, exam fees, dc birthday x2. I dare not do the budget

babsmam · 27/08/2015 19:46

I too would complain about the washer to the manufacturer. 650 for three years I fail to see how that's reasonable

Collieputthekettleon · 27/08/2015 20:37

Arghhhhh my Tesco order arrived! What a joke. Most of the fresh stuff had short dates but the driver never mentioned it. So as I was unpacking everything I was seeing stuff with tomorrows date on. And 29th!
I phoned them up and got £7.90 refunded and they gave me £5 goodwill.

Tesco if you are reading this - you are a bunch of gobshites.

Girlfriend36 · 27/08/2015 20:39

I have a Bosch washing machine and think it is very good, I am Shock that one you paid so much money for has died after 3 years! Thats awful!

ohhelpohnoitsa · 27/08/2015 20:40

Brrrr autumn has definitely arrived here. Outside for 90 mins while dc1 did football training. As soon as the sun dipped behind a cloud it was sooooo chilly.blue teapot thanks for the details on your kitchen. I am going to look at floors tomorrow and pray can find one to complement the apricot doors! If I cant.....paint at the ready.
I failed today with peer pressure. I NEVER do that. A big gang of us met up and the first mum bought her dcs J20. I ALWAYS buy a jug of very weak squash as I think it is healthier and cheaper. But the second mum bought J20 and the third bought Fanta. I could see dc1 begging me, literally begging me for J20 and I caved in. Lesson learned there ...3 J20 and 4 bags of crisps......£12.20. Silly, silly me. Tomorrow I must take drinks with us without fail.

fuzzpig · 27/08/2015 20:40

Ugh what a pain collie

Whatabout · 27/08/2015 20:43

That's so annoying collie, I wonder if it is due to the upcoming bank holiday? Inwishbyou could specify how many days you want on things.

Pointlessfan · 27/08/2015 20:49

Oh no, savage! That's rubbish.
I also fell out with Tesco whilst on holiday, haven't got round to it yet but they will be receiving a strongly worded email soon!
New series of Eat Well for Less with Gregg Wallace starts next week although I seem to remember the last series made us cross!!
