Lovetoknit what did you buy in the fabric shop? I love sewing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2015 16:56

Peppa, Kidstart.co.uk do cashback on john lewis. It's only 1.5% but its better than nothing.

Does the machine suit your needs? can you buy it cheaper?.

I can hear a mouse squeeking. Bloody cat.

574ejones · 28/08/2015 17:01

£4.99 on an essential bottle of Friday night wine!

peppansalt · 28/08/2015 17:15

Yes that's the one Fluffy.

Never heard of kidstart; thanks for that!

Collieputthekettleon · 28/08/2015 17:16

what I had a c section due to a breech baby. I loved it . I was obviously terrified beforehand but I was walking on the beach 4 days after (slowly & carefully) Flowers the c section itself was beautiful & calm.

NSD today

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2015 17:19

peppa It's the same price and guarantee on ao.com and you might get it quicker.

You'd get more cashback on it from topcashback then.

Lovetoknit · 28/08/2015 17:35

ipsos got 2 packs of needles for my sewing machine, some fat quarters to make a little set (pillow, quilts and a mattress) for a doll bed my oh made for my older dd. I already made one in May for my younger dd's birthday so going to do the same for her too. I also got a panel to make an Advent calendar which I want to make when they go back to school. Hope the pockets will be big enough so the 3 dc can share it.
If the weatherman is right and it does rain cats and dogs on Sunday I shall probably spend the day sewing.

candybar · 28/08/2015 18:50

Thanks everyone for the messages and thoughts for our poor little dog,
He is much better today - I'm so happy I could cry, yesterday the vet said he had 60% chance of getting through the treatment and today he is like a completely different dog, he couldn't even make it up the garden path at the beginning of the week and today he wanted to go out and it was lovely for him to have a little walk, he has right sided heart disease/failure and will need medication for the rest of his days, he is 11 so not that old for a small dog. I was terrified he would be put to sleep Sad

Spent too much money today, £6 in Lidl on toothpaste, oats, sports drinks and bakery things for lunch as we were out, £27.50 for M.O.T, but it passed so that's good, £13 in Poundland, £19.50 in Iceland, £26 in Asda and £19 in Wilko. I did make a list and get everything on it including two Birthday cakes (£14) and lots of birthday treats for dd's friends coming over on Tuesday.

I won't be buying much more this month, paid some bill's this morning - Next account and Very, plus £52 off of credit card.

Hope everyone else is having a good day, and looking forward to the bank holiday weekend.

Whatabout · 28/08/2015 18:57

Thanks for thoughts, I'd love to think baby would come this weekend but as last one was so late I doubt it!

I'm beginning to think about starting to add an item or two to my online shop each week for my Christmas goodies. Does anyone else do this? I'm going to try and make a list of all the dry goods and tithings we like to have over Yule and see what I can buy now in terms of shelf life. Spreading the cost is definitely my aim for the next year whilst money is tight. Christmas will mean spending our nectar points, meat from aldi again (so good last year!) and my annual bonus coming. The more I have stashed in the garage the better.

Collieputthekettleon · 28/08/2015 19:09

candy that's good news. I hope he continues to improve.

what I do that :) I had a great Christmas cupboard last year thanks to adding one or two items per shop. And then I used the nectar points for the big Christmas shop.
I usually have about £40 to spend but sainsburys are giving less points so I'd be surprised if we made £20 on nectar by Christmas.

candybar · 28/08/2015 19:13

Whatabout - when is baby due? DD1 was born on 1st Sept, a huge positive school year wise as she's always the oldest, a day earlier and she'd have been starting school a few days after her 4th birthday.

Whatabout · 28/08/2015 19:19

Baby is due on 12th but will be here on 8th, it's a boy so definitely best he waits till September for schooling reasons.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2015 19:21

I bought christmas stuff early but I ate it early too and it rather defeated the object.

Aldi stollen is epic though.

If you make the effort to be in sainsbos at 4pm on christmas eve they bring out loads of half price turkey and geese. I wasn't the only one lurking in fresh poultry aisle either. You've just got to be sad enough to be in sainsbos at 4pm on christmas eve not at home drunk.

Whatabout · 28/08/2015 19:25

I will be half way down the baileys with my sister by 4pm on Christmas Eve :-) I've decreed it will be going in a giant plastic box in the garage, take the temptation away! I'm going to make a list of all the baking I want to do so I can start picking up the fruit etx too. Being organised is the key and after collie's autumn bucket list I am very enthused!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2015 19:28

Tesco should be doing their half price baking event soon for the christmas market.

blueteapot · 28/08/2015 19:35

I cant wait til christmas! Dont care that its august lol, have a good little stash going already :)

babsmam · 28/08/2015 19:35

Spent 14 in lidl and 57 in aldi. I haven't got the right food for camping this weekend as I've never been before. Eek.
3.80 on a cheeky fitnes class.

Good luck what and try and rest up.

It's awful thinking its the end isn't candy ddog is 16 and I'm no where near ready to think about that. Although he's pretty fit at the moment. Glad candy dog is doing better,
I need to think about birthdays and the big c. I think my brain is going to implode at the moment. I need lists that always calms me down.

blueteapot · 28/08/2015 19:36

What good luck with the baby! My latest 'newborn' is 7 months next week, it flies past so quickly!

ohhelpohnoitsa · 28/08/2015 19:57

I know autumn and christmas are getting closer because I cleaned out my kitchen cupboards on Friday!! It happens purely subconsciously twice a year - once now (about to go back to work after 6 weeks off) and once about a week before christmas....its when I feel I am not in control of all the spin around me...so I organise cupboards Dh pinpointed it a couple.of years ago and he sure is right.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 28/08/2015 20:11

And whatabout I will organised yours by telepathy as I sure you feel out of control right now. Such an exciting time though. I had spd with dc3 just at the end. Its the only time in my life i have parked in a disabled parking spot. I literally struggled to walk. I empathise totally Flowers

Collieputthekettleon · 28/08/2015 20:20

fluffy thanks for the heads up about the Tesco baking thingy. I'll keep an eye out.

AuditAngel · 28/08/2015 20:26

£10 in Sainbury's, went there after hearing about a Nintendo 2DS on offer, but they didn't have any. Bought DS a USB data stick he needed fir school next week, a new water bottle for DD1 after I melted her first new one in the dishwasher, reduced bread and reduced pain au chocolate.

Ememem84 · 28/08/2015 20:53

I need back in.

I was doing great with saving then had a massive setback. Went a bit nuts spending wise (for she birthday and a weekend away) and now have £1000 cc bill to pay. Oops.

We are saving for a house. I've gone back to pack ups for lunch. Meal planning. Sticking to budgeting.

We are going to London in September. For the rugby. Flights and hotel as well as rugby tickets are paid for. See above cc bill.

i had allocated myself £200 spends while there as want to do some shopping and needed a few new bits for work. However will be paying my shopping money into cc instead.

I'm using up everything I have before buying new. Trying hard to really think about what I have before buying new.

And am sorting things for eBay.

Today was a lsd. Spent the grand total of 98p on a diet coke. (Morning coffee paid for by boss. Lunch out also paid for Smile)

Payday on 21 sept. Joint account has all money for mortgage and bills already. So if I can go until then without spending too much I'll be happy.

Girlfriend36 · 28/08/2015 21:43

Peppa £850 for a washing machine sounds insanely expensive to me (sorry if I am going against the grain!) however I get that £850 for a 10 years of guaranteed clean clothes might possibly be worth it! FWIW my Bosch washing machine was £300 ish and still going strong after 6 years, it gets used every most days (I loves it a little bit truth be told Blush)

Whats I had an emcs for my dd, it was fine, sore for a day or two but I found as long as I took the painkillers religiously I could manage.

Have had a busy day, blood test for dd didn't go well! She kicked right off at the Drs and point blank refused to let him touch her Shock oh well, think we will see how she goes and try cutting down on wheat anyway.

She is now at her Grandads as I am working all wend - poor me Wink

On the plus side I think have managed a LSD, £1 on parking - no other spends Smile
