Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

Was at my partners wednesday, his mum had a cold, was only in the same room 5 minutes. Woke up thursday, dry mouth, slight throat tickle. Have progressed to full on cold symptoms but noticed knee joints aching when walking, so tested last night, positive. Hopefully shes no longer contageous, her partner had hernia op friday, uncontrollable coughing is the last thing he needs!

AlmostAJillSandwich · 12/06/2022 10:41

Meant to say 32, my first time with it, double vaxxed and had booster, i didn't get it early this year when dad and sister did, but i am significantly overweight which worries me as a potential complication. Worst symptom is blocked nose, i hate mouth breathing and cant sleep for anything either.

Horsemad · 12/06/2022 11:50

I am slightly more snuffly today, which is better than the blocked sinus & dizziness of yesterday imo.

@Summerwhereareyou I was like that, felt ok after a few rough days, thought I was getting better then bam! Had a relapse & was sick (had felt quite nauseous most of the time).

I can taste a bit better today as well - yesterday felt like I was eating/drinking through a muslin! That's the only way I can describe it. I could sort of taste but it wasn't as defined as usual.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 12:58

Horse, taste still here just dizzy , teary, skifhty nausea..nasty headache.

Sinus feeling horrid.

Trying to stay propped up in bed

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 12:59

It's also my neck like the lymph nodes there or something...

Chunks1376 · 12/06/2022 13:00

Day 4 here - with day 0 being Wednesday. Still not moved out of bed apart from going to the toilet.

Feeling a bit better today, but definitely very up and down. Still very thirsty constantly but no appetite. Haven’t eaten since Thursday but going to try and have something today.

LittleDonkeyKong · 12/06/2022 13:45

Day 5 of symptoms for me today. Very snuffly and tired. I didn't wake until 11.30 this morning. Worse thing about it though is the timing couldn't have been worse! Was supposed to see Jurassic World Dominion last night. Im a huge fan and dino obsessed. Been waiting forever for it to be released. I'm having a Jurassic marathon today feeling sorry for myself.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 20:27

Oh no little donkey!
That's a shame.
This is one of the worst things about this is being isolated.
I don't even have it as bad as others and touch all the wood,no respiratory issues.
It's hard to imagine people being so very ill and so very alone at the time they needed people.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 20:27

I perked up after a horrid night and morning but I'm dreading night again.
I did manage to make the bed and that's given me a boost.

Benjispruce4 · 13/06/2022 06:54

Day 17 here(negative on day 9&10) and I think I have a chest infection. Have had a very sore throat and congested nose all last week. Was not expecting to feel worse after testing negative.

Techno56 · 13/06/2022 07:14

I'm going to drive my son to school this morning (both masked) as he has to take his giant musical instrument in today and it's a nightmare on the bus. Wish me luck 😬

Everyone in the infected households has passed it on to their family members now - except my son who is still holding out miraculously. I expect it'll get him on day 10 when I've become complacent!

Hopefully my parents will make it to their next big anniversary and we will all look back and laugh about the plague party 😅

SolemnlySwear2010 · 13/06/2022 07:19

Hi everyone - hope are all doing OK.
My DH has tested positive yesterday for Covid for the 2nd time. How likely is it that myself and our DD will catch it?

We didn't catch it the first time from him (back in 2020) but not sure if we will be so lucky this time around. How long after exposure did everyone start showing symptoms?

Thanks

Benjispruce4 · 13/06/2022 07:42

My DH and D D didn’t catch it from me and we shared a bed(DH &me) and we didn’t catch it from him in December. I’d keep windows open, wash your hands before using kettle etc and stay away as much as feasible.

Techno56 · 13/06/2022 08:33

It's been between 2 and 5 days for my family.

Cantonet · 13/06/2022 09:31

I have symptoms but no positive test yet.
I started with a really sore hip on Saturday out of nowhere. I was limping badly as it felt infected. Then a bad chest & coughing on Sunday & alternating shivering chills with roasting heat in bed last night.
I can still smell & I'm hungry now.
Slightly headachey & chesty, but I'm managing it by using inhalers due to asthma.

Summerwhereareyou · 13/06/2022 16:55

The plague party!!

I felt so much better today, better sleep, and perkier but then dizzy and tired again.
I've been bed bound all day.

Chunks1376 · 13/06/2022 19:01

day 5 and thought I was over the hill but the only way I can describe current state is I feel like I’ve drank too much, the room is spinning and the nausea is horrendous. What is this virus 😩

yes, I had this all day yesterday and half of today ! I feel totally fine this evening.

Hope it passes for you soon too.

Summerwhereareyou · 14/06/2022 12:17

Hideous headache today and waves of nassea..
Sense of sme and taste still present but deaden

Summerwhereareyou · 14/06/2022 22:22

Does anyone know re this new varieties will we have any immunity?

Cantonet · 15/06/2022 14:32

Day 5 and I've just tested + for the first time ever in my family. Surprising with 4 kids!
Covid now feels like a flu with lots of sneezing, a heavy head & runny nose.
My chest is less tight & wheezy & the hip pain is completely gone. I've had such a disparate group of symptoms, it could only be Covid.

TheIoWfairy · 15/06/2022 15:40

I'm checking in with my first ever dose of covid. Dd snotty since last week but testing negative. Yesterday I felt rough, headache and my legs and back aching so I could hardly walk. Test negative last night. Today feeling a bit better but choking on phlegm - not nice. Hmm ... Did another test and it's positive now.

yaboreme · 20/06/2022 20:09

@Flev I've been reading this post because I'm in the same situation as you, cuddles with masks, sat on my knee in the garden. I would hate to pass it on knowingly. (I'm shocked by a pp comment. F@ck em! You were and I am trying to do the right thing). It's not about not loving your child which is madness - it's about trying to protect them.

Anyway I hope you are feeling better now. I just wanted to ask, by doing what you were doing did your little one manage to escape contracting it?

Flowers
Flev · 21/06/2022 15:28

@yaboreme yes, my daughter avoided Covid, even though I'd managed to pass it to my husband. I don't regret what I did in those first couple of days, as I'm confident it reduced viral load for both of them, and kept her healthy. Like you, we tried to do time outdoors, with windows open and masks indoors at the start - but by the time my husband was down as well on day 3 we felt it would be more harmful for her to have both parents in masks. We're through it now although still both fatigued - not being able to rest definitely was a challenge so do your best to get asuch rest as you can around caring for your little one. Take care.

oopsfellover · 21/06/2022 15:39

Hello, have Covid for the first time - sixth day of testing positive. Felt lethargic with slight headache/sore throat on first day (prompting test), but very mild symptoms since then. I’ve felt a bit dizzy a few times, if that’s a symptom. Slept really well. Now wanting it to do one!
