Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

Hi

I’ve logged back in to join you. It’s also my first time and I’m mid 50ties. Nobody else is the slightest bit interested in my Covid as so many have now had it mildly. My neighbours friends are still expecting me to turn up to jubilee parties but I won’t go, it feels wrong to do so.

I was so cold last night and shivery last night I wrapped a blanket round my head.

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 21:00

poorly written sentences - that’s a symptom I didn’t expect to have @Lushmetender

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 21:01

i have felt off and tired since Tuesday. Negative test yesterday and positive today.

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 21:02

Sorry for your loss

Lushmetender · 30/05/2022 21:40

COVID1 - good to speak. I was ok but starting to feel chills and grotty tonight! Really hope it’ll be mild! I hope I feel better ish in the morning!

I don’t know when we find out if it’s mild? Would we know by now? Are you hibernating in your bedroom or moving freely round the house? I’m married so I’ve had meals made for me and had them alone in my room. I’ve got a vulnerable child so being cautious.

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 21:48

Very fortunate for me we are on a week’s annual leave. My cat is shouty because he wants to lay by my Covid breath but is not allowed.

ColourMeExhausted · 30/05/2022 22:14

Ooh can I join please! Like @Day1Covid no one really wants to hear about my covid as they've mostly had it and it was mild. So, not day one for me as started with symptoms last Wednesday, I reckon? We were on holiday and I thought it was a cold coming on, staying in a stuffy hotel room and a bit too much drink. But got worse and by Thursday I was so achy and miserable. Friday we came back, that night I couldn't sleep for shivering. Then Saturday I tested and got a strong positive straight away.

Since then I've not had the shivers although body temp has been a bit off, symptoms mostly congestion, cough, weakness and loss of taste and smell. Today I felt a bit better and was able to play with DS and make meals. With any other illness I'd be assuming I'm on the road to recovery...but you never quite know with covid! Hoping the dark line meant that was the worst of it?

DH also has it but seems much milder than mine. We have two small DC so praying it stays that way! DC negative. Trying to not contaminate but tbh it's impossible, DD keeps on running ate for kisses, DS wanted to snuggle today (as we were away from them for the first time last week they really missed us).

Propping myself up with pillows so I can breathe through the night ahead...Good luck all!

ColourMeExhausted · 30/05/2022 22:16

Also, the smell/taste loss is freaky. Was googling how long it lasts and how I wish I hadn't! Seems to be getting worse...yesterday I could faintly smell the toothpaste, today nothing at all.

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 22:34

Hello @ColourMeExhausted my line was very light today I will report back tomorrow when I do another test. It’s so hard not to cuddle, we are all big huggers (including cat).

I just sneezed so much I had a nose bleed - wasn’t expecting that! I too felt achy and exhausted from Wednesday before I got the shivers last night. I thought it was just my default knackered feeling. So maybe my username is a wrong and it’s day one of a positive LFT but I’ve had it longer.

I’m going to try smelling something now.

Lushmetender · 30/05/2022 22:36

Welcome! Yes in the bedroom and starting to feel congested! I think tomorrow will be meh! Having a BIG glass of wine with the hope it will kill germs! Feel like I’m getting a bad cold. Hope it doesn’t get worse though who am I kidding??? Let me know how things progressed for you! First time for me even though kids had it; one twice! Though they didn’t have vaxx like me!

Day1Covid · 30/05/2022 22:44

I can’t face wine but I would quite like a glass to sedate me. I can still smell.

I’ve started Anatomy of a Scandal but I’ve not got concentration. I can feel a big difference when the paracetamol wears off.

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 31/05/2022 04:17

1st day for me yesterday.

been horrific tonight - shivering, can’t get comfortable, feeling sick. I didn’t think it would be as bad as this considering I had 3 vaccines 😩

Lushmetender · 31/05/2022 09:07

Morning. Classing this as day 2. Did another LFT and definitely positive! Had an ok sleep
but woke at 6 am and can’t get back off again. Just started a new Job so will have to phone in sick on 2nd week there! Temp was 38.1oC and feeling the shivers. Throat scratchy just now and 2 octaves lower. Will test again on day 5 and see how it looks. How is everyone feeling today?

OP posts:
Lushmetender · 31/05/2022 09:36

Confessionsofashopper - did you manage to get to sleep?

OP posts:
Day1Covid · 31/05/2022 13:17

Similar to you @Lushmetender and still have a headache. Rest of my household still negative. My body aches but Ive had a shower and feel better for it.

hope everyone is on the up today.

biggreenhouse · 31/05/2022 13:23

2 terrible nights for me so far with no sleep, fever, everything hurts, and my mouth won't stop watering?! had all vaccines and I just feel awful 😖

ColourMeExhausted · 31/05/2022 13:36

Well, yesterday I stupidly thought I was over the worst of it. Today - nope - still very much here. Feeling drained, dizzy and overwhelmingly anxious. Chest feels tight too although I am wondering how much of that is due to anxiety as I can breathe in ok and cough isn't as bad? Just keep on recalling stories of people being fine then collapsing and dying. Not helpful I know! Chances are it will be fine...

Taste is kinda halfway back, smell isn't but since lunchtime all I can smell is something vaguely garlicky? Can't be me as not had any recently! So weird. Just trying not to stress about that and let it do its thing.

Must admit to feeling very down about it all, had a weep this morning.

Day1Covid · 31/05/2022 13:48

@ColourMeExhausted wait! What! Nobody is taking a death turn on this thread including you. Are you feeling up to playing a mindless app or knitting or scrolling photos of kittens? I’m watching Netflix and drinking loads of water. It’s a strange on isn’t it as we can’t see anyone to cheer us up.

Day1Covid · 31/05/2022 13:50

@biggreenhouse hope night 3 brings relief from symptoms

Lushmetender · 31/05/2022 13:58

I think I’m kinda lucky as I take amitriptyline at the moment for some trigeminal neuralgia so it knocks me out when going to bed. I manage around 6 hours sleep. Just had a doze for 2 hours and still hungry. Not sure if I have the smell thing though thought I could smell steak flavoured McCoys - could be worse smells. Using my calm app on phone and DH put TV in my room though only watch stuff at night.
hope you can all manage to relax

OP posts:
ColourMeExhausted · 31/05/2022 14:24

Ha ha thanks @Day1Covid - my thoughts might have spiralled a bit! I've been ok about it so far and even felt reasonably optimistic. Not sure why today is so bad. Think it didn't help that I launched myself out of bed like it was a normal day, got kids breakfast and ready for school and nursery, then started working! Meanwhile DH has been properly taking it easy and I should do the same. Lying down now...

ColourMeExhausted · 31/05/2022 14:25

Must admit I wish I had some diazepam left (had some for a back injury). I feel that would help...

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 31/05/2022 14:49

I didn’t get back to sleep.. was a horrible night.

today my symptoms are no appetite, sore throat, dizziness/foggyness and body aches.

I hope we are all going to feel much better tomorrow!

Day1Covid · 31/05/2022 17:09

More nosebleeds from the sneezing.

how long is everyone planning to stay home or isolate in their home?
