Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

First day today, not had it before either.

Is everyone waiting for negative tests or for the 5 days?

So far just tired and a heavy head.

I'm waiting 5 days but will be 7 days since first symptoms so hoping that will be enough as not sure work would be happy if I took off any more. Currently I'm just constantly exhausted and could easily sleep all day. Headache has eased thankfully.

Deadivy · 10/06/2022 16:18

Hello, day 4 for me now. Sore throat is so much better, but still there and the weird back ache lasted a day. Woke up this morning feeling great. Now I feel like crap it's suddenly back and I'm burning up again.

themessygarden · 10/06/2022 16:34

Day 7 of symptoms, day 5 since I tested positive. Still symptomatic, tested again today and it immediately came up with a really strong positive.

Coughing with a taste of blood although no blood coming up, really painful sinus.

2nd Covid, not as bad as the first time, so hopefully no long covid this time.

pintsizeprincess · 10/06/2022 17:15

Tested positive yesterday after scratchy throat, headache and cough. I had covid in December which developed into a chest infection so hoping for a milder time of it this time. . I had bad muscle aches all over last time the first 2 days which I haven't got so far. So fingers crossed.

NCTDN · 10/06/2022 17:51

I'm another who's got it for the first time. Positive on Monday so this is my 5th day of isolation. I'm feeling a lot better so do I need a negative test before going out?

astoundedgoat · 10/06/2022 17:54

Day 2 (maybe day 3?) here - scratchy throat & streaming nose since yesterday. Just took a test out of idle curiosity a few mins ago & there you go. Sooooo sleepy.

This is my 3rd time around. Had all my vaccinations & boosters. I’m not concerned. I’ll do some gardening. Paint the bathroom.

Hello

Another first time covid person! Day 1 of being positive but felt odd since Wednesday. Been very lucky to not get it until now. Mostly feels like a bad cold, with a hot face and a slight cough. Lacking in energy but not sleeping well. Luckily I had a nap earlier....

NCTDN · 10/06/2022 22:30

Mine has just felt like tonsillitis.

LittleDonkeyKong · 10/06/2022 22:38

I started with symptoms on Wednesday morning. Woke up feeling like I was on fire, had the runs, headache and felt sick. Tested this afternoon after being off work since Wednesday. I was adamant it wasn't covid! Think I caught it on Saturday seeing Ed Sheeran in Sunderland! I work for the NHS and cant go back to work until I've had 2 negative LFTs

That's where I caught it!

LittleDonkeyKong · 10/06/2022 23:18

Horsemad I bet a few people have! I've never tested positive before!

Horsemad · 11/06/2022 00:17

@LittleDonkeyKong my first time with Covid too and yes, I bet there's a fair few with Covid after that concert - I definitely know of another who was there on the Friday who has got it at the moment.

Looks like my DH is starting with it now as well; he mentioned feeling under the weather earlier. 😟

Ithoughtsummerwascoming · 11/06/2022 09:27

I've been told re work, don't feel well dont go in,feel well go in. Nothing about lateral flow?

Ithoughtsummerwascoming · 11/06/2022 09:28

I wasn't at ed Shereen concert.
I read it's another wave we are in.
Cases going up and there must be a fair few with fewer testing and reporting!

There's no legal requirement to test but employers can obviously make their own policy.

My DH's employer has the same rules as the NHS.

Chunks1376 · 11/06/2022 09:45

I’m on day 3 since positive LFT. Day 4 since started feeling off. Still bed bound. Hoping that I’ll start to feel better soon. It’s much worse than I thought it would be.

Has anyone noticed when you start to feel drastically better?

Horsemad · 11/06/2022 10:33

Day 3 was my worst day, then I started to feel much brighter but still very tired (am Day 5 now).

NCTDN · 11/06/2022 11:00

I'm on day 6 now. I'm generally feeling much better but yesterday started with feeling sick?

LittleDonkeyKong · 11/06/2022 12:24

Guess the NHS have to be ultra vigilant

jennylamb1 · 11/06/2022 15:55

Has anyone else found that it comes and goes in waves? On day 10 and very faint 2nd line now, and feeling a lot better. Days 3-7 felt the worst. In general it felt as severe as flu but much less predictable- would feel better for a few hours and then came back when you tried to do something, rather than the predictable slowly getting worse/slowly getting better of flu. Never had that with an illness before. Plus the tiredness day 9 onwards is something else, just seem to all of a sudden hit a wall. Guess it's post-viral.

Summerwhereareyou · 11/06/2022 18:28

I'm on official i'e showing up on lateral flows day 2.
I feel much better?
I went out into the garden earlier but after a while felt tired and back to bed.
But I feel better than yesterday? Will I get struck down on day 3 or is this potentially it?

Horsemad · 11/06/2022 18:42

Blocked sinuses & feeling quite dizzy today. 😟

Techno56 · 11/06/2022 19:31

Definitely up and down. I feel better first thing in the morning - and hideous at around 5pm every day, medicine or no medicine.

My elderly dad is very tired but has still been up and about , making tea for my mum and putting the bins out! So I think his April booster must have really helped as all the rest of us have mostly been in bed for 4-5 days.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 10:21

I felt suddenly ill again headache and dizzy etc.
Horrid slightly nausea. Day 3 now.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 10:21

Techno that's good for you dad
