Anyone starting with symptoms today!

Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

@day1covid when was your day 1? Was it Monday?

@LemonDrizzles had negative LFT Sunday morning before CEV relatives visited. Came over really ill Sunday around 10pm. Took another test Monday mid day which was positive.

no smell or taste here now for me on day 6 of symptoms. Praying it doesn't stay away for long, as there has been absolutely no joy in eating or drinking today :(

Tested positive this morning.

Have had a whistle-stop city break this week - long, busy days and broken sleep. Thought I was a bit dehydrated and a bit sunburned - have had a headache for a couple of days and felt hot, but this morning I started coughing and had a sniffly night, then boom, positive test.

Am also in a new job, they're going to be thrilled when I call in on Monday after a week off...

Anyone have symptoms but tested negative?

Have headache, chills, high temp and muscle aches but tests are currently negative.

DH tested positive on Thursday but seems to be better.

@eitak22 yes for several days before positive. Anecdotally, several people have only tested positive after a few days of symptoms. I had a tickly cough , funny taste but negative on a Wednesday but posting Friday.

hope everyone is getting better. Plan to do an LFT later but still have thick throat which means I’m probably still positive. Pain not being able to go anywhere. Supposed to be watching kids in gymnastics championship but can’t go anywhere- we’ll would feel guilty spreading it about even though I’m theory there are no restrictions- ESP after being in isolation for 5 days plus. Thought I’d smoke it out with a bbq last night and a fire in the fire pit. Throat is tickly today so was maybe not such a good idea!

day 6 and still testing positive. Although line was definitely fainter than previous tests and didn’t show up straight away or before the control line which has happened on every other test!
still feeling ropey, cold and flu-ey with plenty of phlegm (🤮) and an unsettled tummy today too!

@lushmetender yes I feel the same way. Negative dh has been going out with ds. Dd also can't go out. Today is my day 6 so maybe I'll test again today....

I’m day 9. Haven’t tested yet as only have 2 left. Due at work tomorrow but don’t feel comfortable if positive. I know my boss will quite ‘guidance’ of 5 days. How about the rest of you?

Covid is different for everyone. But workplaces can be sensitive.... Hope it all works out!

Day 9 of symptoms and still positive. Still coughing and started with headache again this morning.

Can I join you? Officially day 1 here - felt a, bit odd yesterday morning but then suddenly mid-afternoon yesterday got a pounding headache and tight chest. Very thick line on LFT immediately. I know I got it on Tuesday night because other people at same event with Meare also positive.

Currently trying to stay away from husband and pre-schooler as much as possible to reduce viral load for them - plus I ache everywhere and am really tired.

Late to the jubilee covid party ...tested positive Saturday...felt a bit off Thursday and rough Friday.. 1st time here as well:( so far rest of family ok dh cv... we were camping Thursday night so couldn't have been any closer...
Although trying to isolate now we know.....just feeling blah and sluggish today not too feverish...

Very grumpy as had only just started really doing stuff recently..went to gym on Tuesday :(

Day 8 and another negative test for me. All symptoms gone. Sleeping well just a bit tired in general.

@Lushmetender thanks for the thread I hope it helps others that can’t get any interest from anyone in rl. I would have liked to have read back on a thread like this because the worry was greater than my symptoms.

Now just have to get the rest of my family back on their feet. Day 4/5 for them and all getting there so that’s good.

Day 8 and CEV visitors are still negative. I won’t rest until a few more days have passed but that is also looking good!

My 3yr old is really struggling with me being in a mask and limiting cuddles - this is truly horrid. So tempted to just say sod it and take it off but at present my husband is still testing negative (although feeling rough) and my 3yr old is too young to have been vaccinated. So hard to know what to do for the best.

I’m due to do my Day 5 LFT tomorrow. I work for the NHS so rules are strict-I’m not allowed near the hospital until 2 x neg LFTs or 10 days has passed.
Symptoms wise I am mostly better, still having the odd searing pain in my head, and got a bit breathless doing housework earlier. Occasionally a phlegmy cough too. DD is unhappy with me as I’ve given it her. She had it in Feb but wasn’t nearly as ill as this time-my guess is this strain is a harsher one. My kids have all had it at least once and I’ve been in contact with friends who have then later tested positive and yet still haven’t caught it up to now.

Either day 9 or 7 from first symptom and I am negative today. Hope everyone has a good recovery. Take care

Hello everyone :) can I join the Covid club?

I got a positive LFT yesterday morning, but I reckon symptoms started on Friday - felt very tired and a bit out of sorts. Also a bit of a sore throat. Took a test and it was negative then didn't think much more of it. Woke up Friday night with a sore stomach but thought I had maybe overeaten.

Saturday I was still negative but sore throat and cold like symptoms. So off I went to an outdoors jubilee celebration and now I'm feeling a little guilty.

Sunday I woke up with a sore throat and that's when I got my big fat positive! Husband is still negative and to be fair, my symptoms have been mild . I can still work from home etc.

I've been taking Lemsip all in one which has helped . It's has paracetamol in it and an antiseptic for my throat. Hoping it doesn't get any worse !

I tested again today but still negative. Still have a fever, headache and feel exhausted. Keep going dizzy too.
