Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

So my top jaw really hurts..anyone else?

Day1Covid · 01/06/2022 18:12

No achy top jaw but have had the random aches in body. The day before I tested positive I had my mum checking the back of my legs for varicose veins as they were aching in random places.

How long do symptoms typically last do you think?

LemonDrizzles · 01/06/2022 18:31

I also did not have achy top jaw.
However I did also have weird spotty pain in leg.
Another one- tender/sore/cramp like in the boobs....

I guess there is no law saying we have to self isolate but I can't imagine going out like this....

I haven’t even left my bed apart from to piddle.
I’ve just said to my husband I can’t remember the last time I felt this ill. The top jaw thing is probably my sinuses-which are also hurting.

LemonDrizzles · 01/06/2022 19:24

I also rarely leave bed.... Do you/anyone else thinks it comes on in waves? I'm getting the nauseated feeling again. Caved and took paracetamol.

Sorry to hear about your top jaw...

Day1Covid · 01/06/2022 19:33

General unwell feeling with waves of feeling worse. I have a feeling I won’t be isolating alone by tomorrow. I can hear a lot of coughing going on.

Day1Covid · 01/06/2022 19:34

So I had better shake off the worst tonight as my time of rest is nearly over….

CatRatSplat · 01/06/2022 21:23

Hope everyone has a better night and feels on the mend tomorrow.

ColourMeExhausted · 01/06/2022 22:42

Hello all and welcome new folk - sorry you're in the Covid club!

Felt better today, just very tired still, but managed to work. So now I'm worrying the covid is just biding its time before hitting me with some more weird symptoms...

Still feel very congested and having some weird stomach issues though.

Going to test tomorrow as I think mine started a good few days before I tested. Next two days aren't problematic as DH, DD and I are off for the jubilee weekend, and DS at nursery (had day trips planned but they're obvs not happening). But there are parties at the weekend and I really don't want the DC to miss out so fingers crossed. Will see how it goes...

Re jaw pain - I had a weird jaw numbness yesterday, almost felt like my mouth does when I've been injected with anaesthetic at the dentist?

LemonDrizzles · 02/06/2022 08:01

Hope your stomach issues subside.

I have a very phlegmy cold. Drinking ribena which I haven't had hot like this in easily 30 years.... Made chicken noodle soup with miso last night. (Had some paracetamol first).

My teeth feel like their need dental braces.

How is everyone getting on today?

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 02/06/2022 11:07

I’m tired today and have been sleeping but feeling a little better (yay!).

going to try and sit outside in the sun and see if that helps.

what a horrible illness! Hope everyone else is ok and is getting lots of rest x

Lushmetender · 02/06/2022 11:37

Day 4 here and had another 12 hour sleep. Was starting to develop a cough yesterday but think that might be abating. No temperature this morning. Feeling a lot better. Hope it stays that way but will keep taking it easy. I haven’t really had any weird tastes or smells. I guess still early days. I bet my LFT is still showing me as contagious!

CatRatSplat · 02/06/2022 11:41

Day 5 for me and I'm feeling ok, bit congested. Lft was a big fat positive still.

Day 3 for dh and dd1 they look under the weather and DD sounds like she has a 🐸. Dd2 neg 3 days ago and unless she shows any symptoms other than being very grumpy (like a caged animal!) I'm not testing her. Everyone will get retested Sunday morning but not many tests left.

Day1Covid · 02/06/2022 13:46

Day 4 - was up all night with CV child who is now positive. I’m tired but feeling better each day, still got a headache and runny face. Husband positive and in bed exhausted. Cat is very happy to be cuddled again

LemonDrizzles · 02/06/2022 14:54

@day1covid I hope you manage to get some rest

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 02/06/2022 14:58

Day 3. I’m feeling better than yesterday that’s for sure. Usually a reasonably healthy person so I’m hoping I’m fighting it off easily. Today feels like a heavy cold, I have been able to shower and do some housework although I have stopped for an afternoon nap. Still counting down the minutes to each “allowed” paracetamol dose.

Hadalifeonce · 02/06/2022 14:59

Tested positive on Monday, have felt awful, achey, headache, hacking cough and dizzy, just going to the loo had me gasping for breath. Felling slightly better today, less achey cough a bit better, but still struggle for breath if I move too fast or too far. DH also positive but no symptoms. Both mid 60s and first timers.

Day1Covid · 02/06/2022 17:01

Thanks @LemonDrizzles my gang are doing surprisingly well. I think today has made me better because there is no choice. Still worried about the elderly CEV relatives, will know by Sunday if they have dodged it.

@Hadalifeonce you sound like you’ve got some nasty symptoms hope you feel better soon. Have you read the NHS advice on how to aid breathing, might be worth a try - any port in a storm

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 02/06/2022 22:31

Hope everyone is resting.

I’ve gone downhill again and have a terrible headache! Anyone else?

I suffer from migraines but this feels different

Benjispruce4 · 02/06/2022 22:37

Hi fellow Covid people! Only just found this . I’m on day 6. Tested positive on Friday, had headaches and cough but was much better over weekend only to feel off again this week. Mainly headache and still sniffy/blocked. This is my first time , I’m 51 and have had 3 jabs but booster was in November. I tested yesterday as that was my 6 days up and was still a bold line so I’m not mixing. I’ve been walking in remote areas with my dog as I read it’s ok to exercise outside if I keep away from others. Thankfully that’s been a lifesaver. Will test tomorrow .

Benjispruce4 · 02/06/2022 22:41

The few days before I tested positive I could’ve clear my throat properly and had a weird taste in my mouth.

Day1Covid · 02/06/2022 23:06

@ConfessionsOfAShopper yes I’m worried about having another dip.

Had a headache all day but my whole household is poorly in bed and I’m feeling the best so have looked after them. It’s remarkable how much better I feel after only 4 days. Not tip top but good enough.

Day1Covid · 02/06/2022 23:22

Me too @Benjispruce4 I thought I had hayfever

Benjispruce4 · 03/06/2022 07:31

Grrr I’ve still got a line on day 7. It’s faint but it’s there. Headache has gone for now, still sniffy and blowing nose a lot. DH hasn’t caught it though he had it a few months ago. DD1 at uni and DD2 has stayed away from me and is now at bf house so it’s just me. I’m ok , have normal energy, did15000 steps yesterday in two walks, it’s just the waxing and waning of symptoms and not feeling quite right. Though I can see from others that I’m very lucky to feel ok. Get well soon.

Day1Covid · 03/06/2022 08:49

I feel shit again. 5 hours of broken sleep looking after everyone. I reckon 2 more days of rest and I would have fully recovered. I can’t tell what’s Covid and what is being exhausted.
