Anyone starting with symptoms today!

Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

Hi I’m gonna see how the LFT goes. Doubt I’ll be able to join any jubilee street parties ! Will have to wave majestically from the bedroom window! I just went downstairs and what a frigging mess. Couldn’t leave it so quickly sorted some of it while everyone is out! All my kids had it in September and we managed to miss it. Then My youngest caught it again and the rest of us dodged it. Older kids have had first vaccine! Just my husband who is not in the ‘Rona club!

I’ve cancelled my arrangements for Thursday and Friday. Back to work Monday which will be day 8 from positive LFT.

I’m still very nervous about the CEV family members catching it so I will probably sit tight in my room longer than necessary.

I will isolate at least until Friday, then see how I feel.

either way I won’t be going to the party I was invited to on Saturday - will likely just spend this weekend in the fresh air so I’m not in too much close contact with anyone.

That’s good that people are feeling optimistic that they will be well enough by the weekend. I think I will be. The symptoms come in waves for me but only 2 paracetamol so far today.

Hello, may I join you? Day 2 for me. Will be testing everyday 😟
Started feeling flu -ey with a temp yesterday. Cough and runny nose today and generally feeling dog rough.
No one is interested in my illness just annoyed that I can’t do my usual chores / pulling my weight.
have been quite emotional today but mostly when paracetamol is wearing off, that and the fact I’m not normally ill.
it’s half term and I should be using the time to prep and plan but chose to have today as a ‘rest’ day and slept for most of it.

Hello Fucket sounds like you needed the kip. It does feel like wasted time being ill. I planned to do so much with my week off. What are you prepping for? Return to school?

I don’t know @empireemmy my neighbours are encouraging me to join in the street party Thursday (day 4) but I won’t. I think you have to judge it by how ill you feel, if you are testing positive and your own decision. A week of feeling shitty and you might not even want to party. Are you feeling rough?

Well my household has reached its limits without me - that didn’t take long. It’s only Day 2. To be fair the cat lost it after only 2 hours.

Yes 😊. They have been taking it in turns to sit outside the bedroom door and talk non stop all day. Good job I’m not actually floored with symptoms. Really tired now though.

how is everyone else feeling?

Hi everyone. I’m day 1 (positive LFT yesterday). Had a cough yesterday but otherwise fine. Today I feel rough. Head is banging, throat is sore. This is my first time and I’ve been jabbed three times. I’d hate to think what it was like without the vaccine!

Hey can my household join the covid party? I tested positive Sunday, everyone else negative Monday but they are now all showing symptoms. Not going to test them again(young kids) and assume they are. One has a barking croup like cough so I've been up with her since early morning.

day 3 ( although the app has me at day 2) - couldn’t sleep. Probably spent too much time asleep during the day, dropped off about 4 then awake at 6 with a high temp again. Paracetamol and back to sleep, woke up feeling much improved, Just as well as I need to crack on with work. I’m a teacher so need this time to plan and write reports!
I’m avoiding everyone and everything at the moment. All plans cancelled, no one allowed round. Feel so disappointed to be missing out but grateful that I am vaccinated and starting to feel a bit better.

Good to hear all are cracking on with it. I had a 12 hour sleep - drug induced but needed it as was a bit fitful till 3 pm. I don’t sound as bad as the person I got it off as sh me had a really sore throat- mine was scratchy and turning into cough. So have an upset tummy but not unusual for me. Do need a bath though😝 - feeling a bit minging after then sweat pool i lay in last night. I just hope this is as bad as it will get . LFT was a lot more purple today.

I am still feeling horrific (day 3). Feels like it’s not getting any better for my DP and I. I just have no energy. Having a shower exhausted me, I fell asleep after!

also no appetite at all. Keep feeling sick and I have a very chesty cough now.

Day 3 - very strong line on LFT today. My CV child has developed a cough during the night but LFT negative. My CEV family that I’ve been in close contact with for the whole week preceding symptoms and positive test are all ok so far……

I can’t shake the worry off though.

I had upset stomach day 1 but it’s ok now. It’s my watery face that’s annoying! So much fluid from eyes nose and mouth. My body must be a husk inside - where is it all coming from.

my CV child has own bathroom until this is over. I’m using the family bathroom and cleaning it down like a crime scene after every use. Whole house has windows wide open. Towels in wash after every use. It’s a huge faff and I think they all have it anyway and it will show by the weekend.

Cat is very sad and intermittently wails outside my door.

Hi everyone I’m on Day 5 of Covid. Haven’t lost taste or smell just feeling so tired most of the time. When do you start feeling better!!!

I'm on day 2 of a positive. Not sure if symptoms started on Saturday or Monday. Husband suggested I take temperature yesterday. 38.3... But could have been more, battery started going on thermometer. Was eating soup at the time so had to wait 30 mins to take covid test. Then another 15 for result... Felt like my right foot was sprained. Yesterday had to wear black out eye mask due to light sensitivity. And a few other symptoms

Triple jabbed. Saturday, I had a blistering headache, unlike me. And irritable. More clear symptoms on Monday (desperate to drink whole orange juice... My typical sign I'm getting a cold). Slept 2 hours yesterday morning. Weird weird pains all over. At one point, my whole right leg. Nausea on and off yesterday. Not so bad today.

Definitively heavy cold, maybe this is what a flu feels like? I don't think I've ever had the flu.... Only took paracetamol before bed yesterday. Will try to do the same today.

Hope everyone is taking care. Luckily cleaner still came today. I stayed in bedroom the whole time. So laundry all done and put away. Scared if this gets worse

Also I'm signed off work but can't imagine sitting through a show (stranger things....) I just nod off to my short YouTube shows. Yesterday I re watched a few favourites. Fell asleep both times!
