Just that. Will be a bit of a boring week self isolating from the family. Would like to have some buddies along the way. Also scared what to expect as first time I’ve had it so not sure if I’ll be of the mild, medium or serious end. Have had 3 vaccines in the past but getting up to 7 months since I had the last. Am in 50s and caught it at my dads funeral from a good friend. She is feeling grotty but still working. I’ve just started a new job! Great start! And don’t think I’ll be joining many jubilee street parties unless Ultra mild. Symptoms are dry throat, a bit shivery and skin crawly when paracetamol is wearing off. High temperature between meds but a v faint line on LFT which I expect to be darker tomorrow. Still got an appetite!

Hello! Thought I was starting to feel a bit better.
Still testing positive and ‘the cough’ is getting me down - it’s so dry and tickly.
New ‘exciting’ symptom for me - I’ve lost my sense of smell. Not completely, can still detect faint whiffs of really strong smelling things but anything delicately fragrant is undetectable 😕
Reading through some of the symptoms on this thread is making me feel grateful for only mild symptoms and realise what a wuss I am!

Still ill here too. I'm on day 7 of symptoms. Chest not too bad but runny nose, fatigue and light headedness. Fed up now!

CrazyRatLover · 03/06/2022 10:31

And still boldly positive! First symptoms last Saturday, first positive on Monday.

I’ve lost my sense of smell in a similar way. It’s not completely gone but definitely altered. And joy of joys it appears to have bought my period on early and that is unusually super painful too. Luckily the worst symptoms of Covid have now dissipated and all I’m left with is a tickly cough.

Lushmetender · 03/06/2022 12:10

Hi another long sleep - I’ve had lots of diarrhoea but all other symptoms have gone I think. It tried to get to my lungs but all is drying up. LFT still a bright beacon in the night. Seem to have lost 4 lbs without trying! Not sure whether it’s because I’ve been able to rest but don’t feel fatigued or anything. Maybe it will change when I try to get back to normal. My ds however has a temperature now. He’s still testing negative but he was sitting beside me at my dads funeral and hasn’t had covid since last sept! Looks like I won’t be let out this weekend still being positive!

@Lushmetender it must be hard grieving and Covid on top. My child had a cough and was running hot two days before they tested positive. Capol has been fantastic.

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 03/06/2022 12:17

Has anyone tried night nurse/day nurse for covid? I think a good nights sleep would work wonders for DP and I. Just not sure if the drowsiness will make us feel worse….

Benjispruce4 · 03/06/2022 12:25

I’m sleeping so soundly which I wasn’t in the first few days.I have used Night Nurse in the past and it was great.

biggreenhouse · 03/06/2022 12:27

@ConfessionsOfAShopper night nurse has worked well for me, it's let me get twice the length sleep I was getting without it

ColourMeExhausted · 03/06/2022 12:48

Hi everyone! Sorry to hear of some of you really being hit hard with nasty symptoms.

So I tested negative this morning...was jubilant till DH pointed out the faintest of lines. But so much better than last Saturday's test. So that's helping to know. Nevertheless, I feel lousy today. Bad night's sleep with a congested nose causing me to wake up in a panic convinced I couldn't breathe, then spent the wee hours feeling horribly anxious. I have a broken hand which just isn't healing so that's a worry too. And my period started this morning so also not helping!

Today, feeling very tired, cough still there, taste and smell slowly coming back. Despite this I do feel I'm over the worst of it and very grateful. DH still testing a strong positive. Both my parents hav

ColourMeExhausted · 03/06/2022 12:50

That posted too soon! Meant to say my parents have it but seem to be ok so far.

@Day1Covid do be careful, you need that rest but totally understand you haven't much choice. I'm just relieved our DC don't have it as looking after them too would have been hard.

Hope you all take a turn for the better this weekend...

Day1Covid · 03/06/2022 16:44

The period coming early/heavy seems to be a thing same as it was with the vaccinations.

I am jealous of 4lb weight loss. I seem to be craving stodgy carbs but not sure I can put that down to Covid…

I nodded off in a chair with happy cat for a blissful 40 mins when the rest of the household was magically aligned and didn’t need anything from me.

Ifartglitterybaubles · 03/06/2022 16:54

Triple jabbed. Had Covid at Christmas and tested positive again yesterday. Feels the same as before, tired, aches, sinus pain, snotty and lots of sneezing. I've spent most of the day lying on the sofa waiting until I can take my next paracetamol dose.

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 03/06/2022 16:58

How weird about periods!

I only came off mine last week, but have started spotting and having some cramps whilst I’ve had covid….

and thank you for the advice, I got hold of some day and night nurse. Hoping it’ll be just what we need have a better nights sleep.

hope everyone else is getting on ok and resting as much as possible xx

Lushmetender · 03/06/2022 18:04

Should stop doing those darned LFTs. A real beacon in the night at day 5. I sat outside in the sunshine for a bit but felt brain foggy when I came in. I don’t feel Ill as such.
weird that I am still riddled with the virus. My son still testing negative despite having similar symptoms to me. My dads funeral was this time last week when I caught the lovely virus. Had such a rubbish year and was looking forward to a jubilee weekend, taking kids somewhere as I have the long bank holiday weekend! Did I break a mirror or something? Hope all are doing ok. I was until today. Just want to go about the house normally with no face mask

@colourmeexhausted sorry to hear about your hand.

I didn't know about the period thing. Yes it's early but usually heavy. Will it be longer??

Strong line today. Lfts are expensive!

Have to do online shopping... Hope I can concentrate!

Benjispruce4 · 03/06/2022 20:42

@Lushmetender That’s pants! 💐

Benjispruce4 · 04/06/2022 09:11

Day 8. Woken up with awful headaches and was coughing again in the night which made my head pound. So up and down.

ConfessionsOfAShopper · 04/06/2022 10:08

Day 6 for me.

I have woken up with absolutely no sense of smell at all. I cannot smell a thing, it is so weird.

also have a horrible upset stomach.

generally feel a little better within myself though, slept well. Poor DP had such a blocked nose all night and struggled.

hope others are starting to feel a little bit better today? 💗not feeling 100% but at least feeling like I’ve turned a bit of a corner.

Lushmetender · 04/06/2022 11:59

I feel like I’m sore everywhere today - not kind of viral sore, but sore back, sore tummy as it’s been quite upset, sore neck - as if my bones are crumbling. Weird! One of the older ladies at the funeral apparently tested positive. Seems ok but had to miss hospital appointments etc. I’d sent off for an emergency supply of LFTs. Think I will still be positive here as I can feel my throat is still a little phlegmy. Beautiful day here. Just going to have to get out in the garden and hope the UV rays zap all the viruses out me pores

Benjispruce4 · 04/06/2022 12:02

Still faintly positive. The tickly cough is virtually nonexistent in the day then comes on suddenly as I put my head on the pillow!

Day1Covid · 04/06/2022 13:44

Day 6 and the CEV relatives are still not showing symptoms - is that it do you think? How long after contact did you start to feel ill? I was 4 days.

Day1Covid · 04/06/2022 18:02

I just got a negative LFT day 6.

Benjispruce4 · 04/06/2022 18:18

Oh well done. I don’t know about contact as I’ve no idea where I caught it apart from the fact that I work in primary school. But we’ve had no declared cases lately.

LemonDrizzles · 04/06/2022 19:33

I have no idea where I caught it or on what day! Still feeling sore, cold, sneezing. Still trying to be careful. Such a strong line yesterday. Wonder when's a good day to test again...
