I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

Initially a constant cough, scratchy throat, tiredness. Then a few odd ones like sharp pains in my legs, on about Day 10.

EatYourFive · 18/03/2022 08:13

I had symptoms for around four or five days before I tested positive, sore throat, shiver, headache, tight chest, breathlessness, incredibly itchy eyes... Now have occasional nausea, bad cough, general weakness and feeling rough, tiredness.. no temperature anymore though and only had it quite mild.

PurpleDaisies · 18/03/2022 08:13

Sore throat and tiredness

BigButtons · 18/03/2022 08:17

I am on day 7.
When the tests were coming up negative last week I had cold like symptoms. Sneezing, sore throat and extreme fatigue.
On Saturday when I tested positive I had the same symptoms but a bit worse.
From Sunday to Wednesday it was awful . Aches, sweats, shooting pains in my joints, fever. I felt constantly as if I were about to faint and couldn’t hold my head up for long. Pins and needles sensation in my whole body.I couldn’t feel my legs properly to walk to the toilet. I had terrible pressure in my ears and stomach cramps.
Yesterday was a bit better but the utter bodily exhaustion was still there. I was up for 2 hours then spent the rest of the day lying down. I was still testing positive.
This morning I have been coughing my guts up and have rivers of snot.
I am hoping for a better day and will attempt some household tasks.
I haven’t eaten much since last weekend.

Nausea, eyeball ache, headache, cough, sore throat, blocked nose, fatigue.

Bluebellsandbroomsticks · 18/03/2022 08:19

Tickly throat and cough, stuffy nose. That's all, I'm on day 3

motherofthreee · 18/03/2022 08:20

It was like a mid flu, head cold for me. Tired all the time, running nose, cough, a bit of a headache I also had the chills and felt nauseous with an upset stomach. I was sick for a few weeks and now finally starting to feel better.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 18/03/2022 08:21

Sore throat mostly with a bit of a cough.

My DP has aching muscles, headaches, cough, temperature and a sore throat.

Firesidefox · 18/03/2022 08:25

This is interesting, thank you. I am also FREEZING which is very unlike me. I've never had covid and almost want it to get it over and done with. I mean obviously I don't really, but the endless wondering gets you down a bit!

Initially D&V, then a cold/cough - still negative but then I was aching all over, headaches and really really tired/foggy and got my positive. Day 5 since positive and 6 since symptoms and still feel rank. I'm fully vaccinated btw.

Mindymomo · 18/03/2022 08:37

It took me 4 days of symptoms before I tested positive. All other 3 family members had the same symptoms and tested positive before me. You name it, every possible symptom we’ve had it. Aches and pains, headaches, sore throats, coughing, pins and needles, streaming cold, shakes, hot and cold, tired, no energy, taste and smell barely there. My chest is bad at night but ok in the daytime.

opensun · 18/03/2022 08:41

Day 1 (yesterday) high temp, sneezing, runny nose, body aches, headache, vomiting, dizziness, shivering, fatigue, abdominal pain
Day 2 (today) sneezing, runny nose, worse headache, nausea, extreme fatigue.

SexiestDogWalker · 18/03/2022 08:43

My littlest is the only one so far- we are all heading down that road though, I think! He's coughing, says his ears hurt, his eyes hurt, his head hurts and his legs are too tired to carry him. He is six

EdithStourton · 18/03/2022 08:43

I'm just about over it though still testing positive.

I had D&V a few days before, just after an ear infection (I'm normally very healthy so this was might have been linked).

buckleten · 18/03/2022 08:45

I'm on day 4, sore scratchy throat and bouts of feeling sick, occasional chesty cough still. I had the sore throat a couple of days before testing positive.

EdithStourton · 18/03/2022 08:47

Bugger, posted too soon.
Then had a couple of days of feeling okay, then just cold symptoms - glands up, tickle in throat, lots of sneezing. Tested the next day, instant positive. I had what felt like a bad cold (snot, cough, sneezing, lassitude) for a day, but with some random aches and pains. Then a less bad cold the next day with fewer random aches; virtually no symptoms on day three and today have a very slight headache. I was surprised to still test positive given how I feel.

EdithStourton · 18/03/2022 08:48

And have been off my food which is unheard of, but possibly linked to the D&V not the Covid.

scandihouse · 18/03/2022 08:48

Slight temperature, very achey muscles and sinus pain. I would say it feels more like mild flu than cold symptoms.

LivingInaBuildingSite · 18/03/2022 08:48

Sore throat, swollen glands, runny nose.
Light headedness, feeling wobbly, lower back pain briefly, tired legs as if I’d been for a long run when I’d been in bed all day, fatigue/lethargy, headache.

Started with a runny nose on Monday (after a Saturday night event that seems to have been a superspreader event as loads of positives since).
Don’t feel too awful today.
Tested negative on lots of LFTs Mon-Wed (had to for work). Pcr Wed evening came back Thursday morning as positive.
LFTs now showing positive but not strong.

scandihouse · 18/03/2022 08:48

And yes, I had symptoms for two days before testing positive. My son had it first so I was sure I had it though.

Somethingvague · 18/03/2022 08:49

Just tested positive today. Woke up with a headache and sore throat, but don't feel too bad otherwise.

BigButtons · 18/03/2022 08:50

This variant does seem to affect the stomach. Many of us are describing similar symptoms. This is not a mild cold for sure.
I find the fatigue the worst. Just consigned to the sofa like an invalid.
It’s very hard to get over to those around me without covid just how fatiguing it is.
My biggest fear is having some sort of post viral fatigue. I know many with it. Fit, healthy individuals who simply cannot shake the exhaustion months after the illness has passed.

Smidgy · 18/03/2022 08:51

The symptoms that prompted me to test where a stuffy nose a mildly sore throat and feeling "off".

Since then I've become feverish, chills, all my muscles aching, headache, sneezing, coughing, very sore throat, tiredness.

Agree re it affecting the stomach. Day 1 I vomited all day. It's more comparable to flu than a cold.

Headache, eyeball ache, aching in my muscles in general, fatigue but unable to sleep, managed a total of about 4 hours the last 2 nights and total lack of appetite.

No temp or much of a cough though, but had a positive LFT on Weds after my youngest had one on Monday and he has been with me all week.
