I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

Mine started with quite dramatic d&v, really thought it was a stomach bug. The next day I felt better but tired. Had a message that a close contact had tested positive so LFTd the whole family. All positive! Was quite surprised. Since then though we all developed the more classic heavy cold symptoms. Really tired, mild temperature, snotty etc. DH has an awful cough. Day 4 here I think.

usernotfound0000 · 23/03/2022 16:19

Woke up yesterday with sore throat and headache. Achy muscles and tired by the evening. Today had fever this morning and achy muscles . Now just a runny nose. Can't believe how quickly I've turned around, just hope it doesn't get worse again!

Stanleystuck · 23/03/2022 17:01

Day 1 tickly cough, Day 2 felt awful couldn't get out of bed. Exhausted, very heady. Day 3 today, brighter in myself and up but burning throat and sinuses. Coughing and sneezing more now

SexiestDogWalker · 23/03/2022 17:06

Oh, I also can't smell or taste anything now as well. Day four

Watsername · 23/03/2022 17:16

Tested positive yesterday morning. I had a very slight sore throat for a few days previously, but think that was a slight cold (DH had a heavy cold last week with multiple neg lfts and neg PCR). Yesterday I came out with a mild temperature and bad headache in the afternoon, but that cleared up with paracetamol. Woke up in the night with a high temperature.
Today I have stayed in bed. Temp was normal all morning, but it's creeped up again this afternoon. I have a runny nose and am coughing very occasionally to clear mucous from my lungs. It feels a bit like a bad hay fever day for nose/lungs.
Overall I don't feel awful, just a bit spaced out from the temperature.
I have asthma, so am hoping my lungs remain OK.

Mouth ulcer, that's all !!

Friolero · 23/03/2022 18:43

I'm on day 4 of symptoms but only tested positive yesterday. Got a sore throat, headache, slight runny nose and quite tired. I'm hoping this is as bad as it gets!

Ladywinesalot · 24/03/2022 03:52

Day 1-4: Fever, chills, body ache. Managed with constant paracetamol & ibuprofen

Day5-7: snotty nose, headache, fatigue, can’t stay upright much

Feels like flu.
Tested positive on day 1, had no symptoms before the fever hit.
Day 8 and still very ill

LoganberryJam · 24/03/2022 04:01

Sore throat, blocked nose, headache, can't sleep (hence why I'm on MN at 4am!).

Alwaysneedagin · 24/03/2022 04:08

Day 3 here. Random aches and pains, waking up in the night (clearly haha) headache, head cold and mild temperature.

I've kept going to keep the children occupied so far as both my husband and children have it too and hes been staying in bed a lot. I may need DH to step up tomorrow as I'm feeling worse.

Jumanji89 · 24/03/2022 07:02

For me it started with aches, pains and a sore throat and then Sunday exhaustion just overwhelmed me. Haven't left bed since Sunday although I've woke up feeling better today although yet to venture out of bed.

MsTSwift · 24/03/2022 07:28

When does the fatigue go? Day 9 and still headache and no energy keep thinking should be better by now

Caranjo · 24/03/2022 08:12

I'm on day 5 of symptoms (tested blazingly positive on LT after 3 days of symptoms)

Started with slight cough, sore throat and temperature for 1 day. Progressed to aching joints (especially knees), raspier cough, burning nose and windpipe, runny nose, sneezing, fatigue, headache.

No stomach issues. It's been like an irritating, bad cold for me.

abeanbaked · 24/03/2022 09:42

I had cold symptoms on Tuesday but tested negative. Tossed and turned all night with sweats and hot flushes. Then tested glaringly positive in the morning. I have a sore head, runny nose, cough and feel quite heady. Haven't had any hot flushes this morning so far and it just feels like a cold.

treedragon · 24/03/2022 10:02

I tested positive today after upset tummy and scratchy throat yesterday.

treedragon · 24/03/2022 10:12

The infection rate in my area. South England is very high.

BingBangB0ng · 24/03/2022 10:29

Runny nose, slight headache, general tiredness that may just be standard newborn, toddler, lack of sleep tiredness. Hard to differentiate. Got a dark dark line on a test today but it’s feeling like a very mild illness.

Does anyone know if it’s likely to get worse in the next few days?

PurpleThistles · 24/03/2022 12:03

I tested positive on PCR two days ago. I had symptoms a couple of days before that, really dry throat that made it sore and random head pains. Two nights ago, I woke up and my body was just one big ache. Especially my lower back. Today I have aches, a runny nose, heavy head and just beginning to have mucus in my chest. I have health anxiety so really trying not to worry.

treedragon · 24/03/2022 12:16

@PurpleThistles yes I have health anxieties too so this is making me feel worse.

emmathedilemma · 24/03/2022 12:27

glands are a bit swollen, sore a little scratchy (that might be from the LFTs though!), headache that went with paracetamol......at the moment i just feel like i'm coming down with a cold. I'm often sneezy and stuffed up due to allergies so the way I feel probably wouldn't have raised alarm if I hadn't been in close contact with someone who tested positive.

@BingBangB0ng I felt terrible on day 2 (yesterday), really achy, temperature, fatigued. Today I feel mostly ok. I've got an annoying cough which has resulted in a sore throat, and a runny nose but really that's it. I took yesterday off work but am back today (WFH). I would think you might avoid getting any worse, but obviously hard to know for sure.
GD12 · 24/03/2022 14:17

Day 4 mild fatigue, slightly snuffly had irritated chest yest with light cough but that's almost gone today. Feel pretty OK and it's been very mild(so far) feel very lucky.

Unicornspirit · 24/03/2022 14:22

Tested positive today, scratchy throat, light headed, runny then blocked nose, slight headache and weirdly I'm starving. Just want junk food.

Tuaca · 24/03/2022 14:25

Tested positive today. Runny nose, itchy throat, sinus pain.

treedragon · 24/03/2022 14:35

It seems there is a huge surge in infections. I just cancelled a dental appointment for next week and was told staff there have it and are off.
