If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

Day 1: tired, general under the weather feeling
Day 2: slight sore throat, generally under the weather
Day 3: horrendous sore throat, sneezing
Day 4: same as day 3, now including snotty nose
Day 5: finally tested positive, coughing starts, sore throat goes away
Day 6: another +ve test, snotty nose, cough starts being productive, tired
Day 7: +ve test, headache, cough, tired
Day 8 (today): +ve test, headache, cough, tired

Day 1, started with body aches, by 2pm crippled with severe chest pain, felt like I was having a heart attack. One hour later chest pains gone now have a runny nose and fuzzy head. Very weird, husband had the same but worse chest pains. Both still testing negative on LFT but positive on PCR

Started with a mildly scratchy throat and headache, like I get when I'm getting a cold.

Next day the throat was worse but not too bad, headache on and off. Went for a run and felt fine during, then a couple of hours later had some random nausea and felt a bit spacey and generally odd, very tired so had an extra early night. Bad night with sore throat but that was the peak of it I think.

Next couple of days I've felt much better but I've continued to feel more tired than usual, mildly sore throat, not too bad, headache on and off, occasional coughing.

Day 4 now and I'm just starting to get a slight snuffly nose but other than being lethargic with a mild headache I feel ok.

I'm officially on day 11 (had symptoms for a few days before that):

I started with

• Slight stomach upset without vomiting
• Slight sore throat

I decided a few days in that it was basically just a cold, then on day 4 or 5 after my positive test (or 7/8 since symptomatic) I started to feel worse with body aches, feeling shakey, a sore throat and exhaustion with a 'winded' feeling.

Oh and still feel pretty ill on day 11 (or 14 since symptomatic).

Oh and fast heart rate after climbing stairs.

Day 2 today. I feel so much better. I honestly have never felt as ill as I did yesterday, I couldn’t move and I was slightly concerned at the severity of it.

Today, I feel as you would probably expect to feel if you had just caught your standard bad cold, I can move with pain killers thank goodness. Only a slight Snivel and throat fine. No signs of a cough as of yet.

My almost 2 year old woke up with a fever and crying ‘ow’ repeatedly. He is now lying on the sofa all wrapped up, watching a film. He has a slight cough.

Terrible sore throat and cough
My youngest has horrible cough and feels tired
My oldest boy is so dizzy he can't walk and is really hot
My DD is boiling but says she's freezing and is sleeping

Does anyone have any remedies for the burning nose? It feels like it’ll explode!

This is weird. I have had a nasty cold with eyeball ache, headache from hell and a burning nose. Except LFT negative.

The burning nose was horrific.

It’s the extreme fatigue that gets me. It’s so depressing. I felt more energetic yesterday than I do today. Day 9. I am often so cold. I have no temp though. Maybe it’s because I am not moving much.

Day 4 and I’m at my worst- sore, raspy throat, dry and sometimes chesty cough, runny nose, feeling internally hot but no temperature. Days 1-3 very mild cold/cough, but much of an appetite and whooshing in my ears.
Exhausted and I can’t sleep!

That’s how I felt the day before positive…

Just tired, slightly buggy like a mild cold. I wouldn't have thought I needed to test, except that I was in contact with a positive case 6 days ago. Faint positive yesterday and strong positive today.

NB I did vomit yesterday morning, and had a headache, but I thought that was down to my husband's champagne cocktails. I can't mix spirits and wine.

I had a positive PCR on Monday, so am technically Day 4. I had the start of symptoms over the weekend though, but was testing negative on LFTs so thought it was just a cold.

I have had:
Temperature
Sore throat
Cough
Runny nose
Sneezing
Swollen glands
Muscle pain
Joint pain
Nausea and stomach cramps
Headache
Sinus pain
Extreme tiredness
Breathlessness
Dizziness
Palpitations
Feeling cold
Insomnia

I didn't get out of bed for 3 days. Have got out of bed today but only as far as the sofa and a brief sit in the garden. The tiniest amount of activity (eg having a shower) leaves me exhausted.

@JemimaMuddledUp: this sounds exactly like my experience. day 20 and I’m starting to feel right : there will be an end to it

From experience: once you start to feel better , don’t immediately get back to full speed or you may exhaust yourself without realising

Start by doing half what you think you can etc

Mine started with badly aching legs and back for a week. I tested negative on lat flow and PCR (via Zoe) until Saturday, at which point it went positive almost immediately. I'm triple vaccinated and think my body held it at bay and then it reached tipping point. Yesterday was awful.
Symptoms so far: feeling hot/ very cold, exhaustion, runny nose, cough, lack of appetite, poor sleep, feeling weak and generally achy.

Oh, and I had a racing heartbeat all day and night. It's calmed down now, thankfully.

Oh yeah, and sore throat and feeling sick!

Mild cold symptoms. I’ve had an ongoing cough since getting my vaccine in October so had a flair up of that but didn’t think anything of it but nothing major. Felt worse back in November

I'm on day three now

Headache
The worst sore throat I can remember having this century
Airway swollen, sound like I'm breathing through a tube
Terrible pressure in ears
Swollen glands
Sore mouth
Sore joints
Cough that feels like I'm ripping into my lungs

Day 5 and I thought I was improving but had to get DH home earlier from work to help with after school and mainly the toddler- I’m so weak! Raspy cough and throat has turned to a chesty cough now. No chance of a negative on days 5/6 for me- such a dark line!!

I’m testing negative on lateral flow but have had a positive PCR.

Thursday/Friday - really sore throat
Saturday - sore throat, cough, vomiting, loads of snot
Sunday - per Saturday, but worse
Monday - bit brighter, still full of snot and cough but didn’t want to kill mystic
Today - snotty and coughy, headache, sore tummy (maybe pulled muscles coughing?)

This is day six I guess - I wonder when I will test positive on lateral flow?

DS had a headache on Sunday so tested him and came up positive on lft straight away. I was vomiting all night Sunday and had a headache I couldn't shift but was testing negative. This has developed into a sore throat, everything aching and still the headache and have just tested positive on a lft. Hoping this is as bad as it gets as CV 😕
