I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

Day 5 and not really feeling any better yet. Have now got right-sided throat/gland/neck pain and a blocked/runny nostril on the same side. LFT this morning still positive.

MissMarpleRocks · 30/03/2022 14:21

Day 8. Sore throat kept me awake most of the night. I still can’t drink tea. Tastes vile to me - only thing that’s different in taste & smell. I usually drink 8 mugs of tea a day so this is very weird for me.

MissMarpleRocks · 30/03/2022 14:24

Forgot to add still positive on flow flex but negative on NHS one. It was the same when I tested positive- flowflex was positive in the morning & nhs in the evening & was negative in the morning.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/03/2022 14:27

Day 12, still feel rubbish, still avery strong positive and still no taste/smell.

Alcoh · 30/03/2022 14:28

Does anyone else have bad stomach. I am day 8 and it started yesterday :-(

JS87 · 30/03/2022 14:31

Day 21. Still have fuzzy head or tiredness some mornings. Today I feel terrible. Fuzzy head. Tired. Achey. Did some Pilates last night which was probably a bad idea.

ittakes2 · 30/03/2022 14:42

Day 1 cough and temp and then severe fatigue which I still have. Spent three days with running nose and sneezing like crazy. Lost taste day 5.

thismeansnothing · 30/03/2022 14:47

I tested positive on Saturday. Friday I felt like I had really bad hayfever, took some anti hystemines and felt like I needed to sleep all day so thought they were drowsy ones. By the evening I had violent shivering and a banging headache. Saturday much of the same, achy joints, prickly skin couldn't get my head off the pillow because of the worst headache and I felt violently sick. Today is the first day I've felt a bit more human but still really breathless.

Tootyfilou · 30/03/2022 16:00

Day 4 for me. Thought I had dodged the bullet after working throughout the pandemic as a midwife. Have all the same horrible symptoms as everyone here. High temp last night and coughed so much I was vomiting. Has anyone else had terrible heartburn?

I have just returned to my bed and walking up stairs was SUCH an effort! racing heart and totally out of breath. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.

MissMarpleRocks · 30/03/2022 17:03

I had terrible acids reflux. That & dreadful stomach ache were my first symptoms.

Roomba · 30/03/2022 17:33

My ex has it for the second time. Main symptoms are:
Slightly sore throat (first two days)
High Temperature (first 2/3 days)
Exhaustion
Insomnia (not helpful when rest is needed!)
Night sweats (days 1 - 3)
Really bad headache (8 days and counting, though improving slightly now)
Diarrhoea (day 3 & 4)
Achey muscles/joints (ongoing)

His wife also has it and her symptoms are more runny nose and sneezing then a hacking, painful cough and breathlessness. She's not really had a temperature or stomach issues but is very, very tired.

I know all this as my ex has updated me daily with excruciating detail throughout 😂 I do worry though as he already has Long Covid since April 2020.

Testarossa44 · 30/03/2022 17:39

Day 4 here. Felt a bit shivery Saturday evening. Woke up Sunday with a general feeling of being unwell, awful sore throat and banging headache. Did 2 lft, both had a faint line, managed to book at pcr Sunday afternoon. Got a text Monday morning to say it was positive. Since then I’ve had the most horrendous sore throat, occasionally bout of hacking cough (which makes my throat hurt more!) and a mixture of a super stuffed up and runny nose, which is also weirdly very thickly which makes me sneeze. Not sleeping very well as I keep waking myself up coughing or due to blocked nose, despite propping myself up on pillows. Tired too, but that might be due to broken sleep. Taking paracetamol every 4 hours. Just a bit fed up with it now.

Testarossa44 · 30/03/2022 17:40

*very tickly not thickly

We've experienced this when we've had various bouts of Covid in our family. Def covid as PCR confirmed, but only showing positive on Flowflex, never on the NHS ones.

I only have rubbish NHS ones left now though 😭

glitterelf · 30/03/2022 17:56

@Roomba you can buy the flow flex ones from boots but you can't register them on the NHS site according to reviews. I've had to resort to buying some boxes as I'm going to run out in the next few days and as I'm a childminder I need to know that my whole household is clear before I reopen as I have a responsibility to my mindees.

MissMarpleRocks · 30/03/2022 18:02

Well if the NHS ones aren’t always accurate then the numbers will be skewed… not saying that’s the government’s plan?

So if you can’t register the purchased flowflex how are we to know the numbers … government plan again?

17CherryTreeLane · 30/03/2022 18:12

I'm on day 1. Have a sore throat, sore ears, sore teeth, really really tired, tickly cough, sneezing loads. It's come on really quickly as I only started to feel unwell this morning.

DoctorMarten · 30/03/2022 18:14
@Watsername I am convinced that covid affects the nerves. I have ably just got full sensation back in my legs. I am 18 days after my positive test. I couldn’t feel my legs properly. I was like mild pins and needles all the time. I have also had a flare up of neuralgia- again nerve issues. My face is burning on one side and one tooth has become badly sensitive- had no issues pre covid.
My doc friend says it's less respiratory and more whole-body (myalgia) pain that affects muscles and nerves.

I am on day 11 and still dizzy/tired at times.

Agree it's crazy I know far too many people who have it right now than I have since it started. What on earth are we going to do going forward as we can all see from this thread some of the symptoms completely wipe you out, schools are struggling yet apparently it doesn't exist anymore.
DonEmmanuelsDingleberries · 30/03/2022 18:19

Tested positive yesterday morning, after feeling cold the evening before and waking up in the early hours with a sinus headache. I think I probably picked it up at a gig on Friday.

Fingers crossed, but I seem to have quite a mild case so far. Mainly tired, finding it hard to get warm (unusual for me), a bit stiff in the neck and shoulders, and coughing. Other symptoms are a stuffy nose and a tickly throat. Oh and finding everything a bit more irritating than usual! Home pulse oximeter showing normal blood oxygen levels, and luckily no more headaches so far.

I'm in my late 30s, and fully vaxxed (2x Pfizer + Moderna booster back in December), in case that's of interest to anyone.

BigButtons · 30/03/2022 19:25

@DoctorMarten yes- absolutely. Rather than bee acutely aggressive, it is long term damaging.

Saltyoledog · 30/03/2022 20:09

Tested positive yesterday- I could WFH then but today no way, I’m so congested that my teeth are throbbing, ear pain, head pain. Am slightly dizzy and feel generally unwell.

I’m actually worried that I’ve become so rough so quickly. Everyone else seems to have a slow onset of symptoms. I’m scared of what may be coming.

sleighbellsjiggling · 30/03/2022 20:12

I'm now negative but my positive result only lasted for 5 days on an LFT. I honestly wasn't as bad as I expected. I had a couple of afternoon naps but other than that it was like a very bad cold.

I had tested on the morning as was going to the dentist and was then negative. By the afternoon after a couple of coughing fits and a feeling of strong hayfever, I checked again and got a positive straight away.

A week on however I'm feeling rotten, so tired and have a really sore throat, ear and scalp. Maybe because I'm run down from not taking it easy when I was actually ill.

My OH had it way worse than me (of course) and spent a few days in bed. Lucky him. My DD had it but wasn't obviously ill, my DS either escaped it or had it before us and wasn't symptomatic.

Saltyoledog · 30/03/2022 20:51

I have slathered my neck and chest in Vicks but I can’t smell it at all….I’m actually a bit frightened. I know I need to stay calm and treat it like a nasty cold - I just help thinking of the people that died from it. I’ve been triple jabbed and I know the odds are very low but I’m still scared

DoctorMarten · 30/03/2022 21:30

The best thing to do is rest. Even if you don't sleep, stay in bed as much as possible. To push through risks long covid.
