No period since covid vaccine

I had my first covid vaccine in August and haven't had a period since. I'm going to book a drs appointment when they reopen but I'm so worried. I know lots of women have had issues with their period but has anyone else missed so many?

@Ridiculousradish

Every one of my close female friends has had their cycle affected by the vaccine - either no periods, really heavy periods, 2 periods a month etc. The fact the medical profession are so quick to dismiss it when queried makes me really angry and sad. Does it not matter because it's happening to women? If something was happening to men on such a large scale there would be uproar. It's bullshit.
Same here. I've got a couple of WhatsApp groups running with different circles of friends and the general consensus was that there were issues. But different ones. Some early, some late, some missing, some just horrendously heavy. Unfortunately too many have had babies in the last year or so (with some still BF or recently given up) and so that's generally being blamed. Could be related, or could really really not be.

This is why studies on women just aren't done. We have too many variables with our cycles and our hormones and our inconvenient reproducing.

Wondering the age of posters linking lack of period with vaccination.

That’s what fuelled the MMR nonsense: coincidence.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/01/2022 22:47

Mine went AWOL for a few months after my two AZ vaccines, but I am in my mid 40s and thought it might be that. However they have now settled back to every month, so I sort of think it was the vaccines, even though I am not aware of any mechanism by which that vaccine could achieve this.

I'm work in an office of graduate students, so we're all between early 20s and mid-30s. No babies yet for any of us, and not near the menopause.

Out of 8 women, 5 have seen changes. The three who haven't are all on the same contraceptive pill (which might be a coincidence). Most of us use a tracker app so have years of data on our cycles in some cases. It's affected people in different ways, generally either a period delayed a bit or one or two skipped entirely, but we hypothesised that is linked to where you are in your cycle.

We've all yellow carded it, as find it difficult to believe it's a coincidence. None of us really mind it happening knowing it's gone back to normal for all of us, but it would just be good for it to be listed as a potential side effect rather than people worrying they're pregnant!

I'm 29

PlantWitch · 17/01/2022 14:22

Im 38, had booster 18th December (i was due my period that week) still waiting.

tigerbear · 24/01/2022 22:58

I’m 44, had the booster 24 Dec, and no sign of mine (was due to have period on 27 Dec) so am nearly 2 months late 😬

PlantWitch · 25/01/2022 12:14

Just got mine today (on top of covid, lucky me) and just to pre-warn its very heavy and painful

mrsmacmc · 25/01/2022 23:00

@PlantWitch keep cosy and topped up on painkillers. Still waiting here 😩 hoping she doesn't come till the weekend as got really full on days this week with work 🤞🏻

takingmytimeonmyride · 25/01/2022 23:37

I'm 45. My last period was 23rd November, I had the booster on 9th December. I'm on day 64 of my cycle.

However my periods have been erratic the past few years and I did have a 56 day cycle well before covid was around. My cycles have been between 21-40 days for roughly a year. So who knows whether it's connected to the booster or just perimenopause.

tigerbear · 27/01/2022 08:36

@PlantWitch oh that’s bad luck 😔
Hope you’re feeling better.
Still no sign of mine!

I’ve recently been diagnosed with endemetriosis, so it might be that, but my period has never been this late, and it changed ONLY after the booster.
There’s this new report on the BBC today. Had to laugh when they confidently say that periods are only delayed by half a day to two days 🤔🤔🤔

The witch has finally arrived thanks for the heads up @PlantWitch I feel like I've been hit by a bus

How are you nearly two months late? You’re a little over a month late. Unless we’re in March now and I’ve not noticed.
tigerbear · 01/02/2022 23:12

@RachC2021 as I haven’t had one since November - so missed Dec and Jan..

RachC2021 · 02/02/2022 14:38

That means you’re a little over a month late. You don’t start counting “lateness” from the first day after your last actual period, you count lateness from when your next period was expected.

Newbie8365 · 02/02/2022 15:01

My period finally turned up. I missed 1 period but started bang on time for my second so hopefully I will go back to being regular now.

Will I have another booster? Hmmm not sure. Maybe once I am pregnant if its advised but not whilst TTC.

Shamilla · 03/02/2022 11:52

Hi All,

I had my 2nd dose of Covid vaccine in September.
Since then my menstrual cycle has stopped.
I am on chronic medication for Hypothyroidism and I not sure if my hormone issue has anything to do with this. Also, since my last jab I have excessive hairloss.

maybedopey · 06/02/2022 03:09

Same here, my period disappeared after my second dose. It's been nearly 5 months and I am afraid of getting a booster now. I'm not pregnant and not an antivaxxer but I am getting anxious about my missed period.

TwoAndCooPlease · 06/02/2022 04:41

I had my baby in September, didn't get my next period until November, had Pfizer in December and no period since

Emergency73 · 06/02/2022 05:50

Given that 10 billion people worldwide have now had the Covid jab, surely we’d be seeing an outcry and massive drop in fertility rates globally if the jab was affecting ability to conceive?

SelfIdentifiedRightsHoarder · 06/02/2022 05:54

How interesting, I have an appointment booked with the doctor next week because I haven't stopped having a period since my vaccine in August!

Hi Emergency73

Don't think anyone meant that the jabs affect fertility negatively, we are all just sharing our experience with changes in menses after the jabs, not implying anything about it.

Libellule77 · 06/02/2022 07:55

My periods were late by a week after my 1st and 2nd Covid vaccines. After my booster, my period was again late by over a week, but the second period due after my booster is late by nearly 3 weeks (so far…) Not pregnant. I have yellow card reported each time. Personally, I feel I need an answer as to why cycles are so badly disrupted. Clearly I am not the only one experiencing issues!

spidersenses · 06/02/2022 08:14

Many of you have mentioned GPs dismissing period related complaints related to the vax.

Interestingly I was referred to a gynaecologist at my local hospital for a few period related issues. Her very first question was if I was vaccinated as she was seeing absence or irregular periods in women since vaccinations started. This was several months ago.

Emergency73 · 06/02/2022 09:33

@maybedopey

I’m referring to posts/posters earlier on in the thread.
