No period since covid vaccine

I had my first covid vaccine in August and haven't had a period since. I'm going to book a drs appointment when they reopen but I'm so worried. I know lots of women have had issues with their period but has anyone else missed so many?

@Newbie8365

My period finally turned up. I missed 1 period but started bang on time for my second so hopefully I will go back to being regular now.

Will I have another booster? Hmmm not sure. Maybe once I am pregnant if its advised but not whilst TTC.

Ahh I'm currently on CD47!

I had my Pfizer booster on 22nd Dec and then got covid on 25th Dec. I'm 31 and also ttc.. it's so frustrating!

Glad to hear yours seems to have come back, hoping mine does soon too!

X

My period went haywire after the first jab onwards. It was always regular and I don’t have PCOS or any other similar conditions. I find it so funny how this issue is deliberately dismissed. Experts say temporary, transient… just like there are long term studies to prove it.

okthx · 08/02/2022 06:59

@EarPlugAfficionado
😂😂😂 A gee cases of ED after the vaccine would surely change the vaccination programme in all the UK, or indeed all the world very quickly. The word “transient” and “temporary” wouldn’t be accepted so readily

okthx · 08/02/2022 06:59

A few*

Benjispruce5 · 08/02/2022 07:04

Lots of people miss periods. Because it happened after the vaccine could very well just be coincidental. I have read that our immune status closely linked to our hormones so periods can be temporarily affected as hormones readjust after an immune response a vaccine. It’s supposed to be temporary but obviously you should get it checked out.

BlackSwan · 08/02/2022 08:51

I would be happy with just missed periods. Unfortunately I have lost patch of hair in my head & the dermatologist thinks it's a response to the booster & another unrelated vaccine at a similar time. I could live with this, but there's no telling if it will worsen or what the next dose will bring. I'm not risking it & I'm gutted about the whole thing, I want to be able to be vaccinated, but at what cost.

maybedopey · 08/02/2022 09:08

@BlackSwan

Did you get checked for PCOS?

BlackSwan · 08/02/2022 09:16

no (unfortunately?) it's not PCOS, I had an ultrasound in November. But it doesn't look like that kind of hair loss - it's alopecia areata.

okthx · 08/02/2022 10:42

@BlackSwan
From what I know this kind of alopecia is autoimmune. It is my worry as well because I have got one autoimmune condition and I’m very concerned about a flare up in response to frequent vaccination

BlackSwan · 08/02/2022 11:56

Yes that's my understanding too okthx, which is actually worrying. The dr asked me lots of questions about whether I had lupus or arthritis or allergies. You could ask your immunologist if that's who you see?

I would like to understand this better myself, but it seems each response may be individual.

SuperSocks · 08/02/2022 12:05

Has anyone else been having major PMT since the vaccines? I'm still getting my periods but rather than a couple of days of sore boobs/mild warning cramps/feeling a bit low I'm having a couple of weeks of feeling like I do on the worst day of my period, and want to kill everybody with it!!

JuergenSchwarzwald · 08/02/2022 12:08

I've not had a period since my Pfizer booster just before Christmas. But I am peri-menopausal too so they are all over the place anyway.

This is why vaccines should never be compulsory generally though.

Anyway nobody cares. We are only women.

PoleFairy · 08/02/2022 12:48

Yep, my post menopausal mum hadnt had a period in 4 years. After the first jab she bled pretty solidly for 6 months. Flooding, unable to leave the house etc. She eventually had a coil fitted and gone back on medication

takingmytimeonmyride · 08/02/2022 23:38

After a 72 day cycle my period finally arrived last week. It's not been to bad, I was worried it would be super heavy. Fingers crossed it doesn't last long. Will be interesting to see if I go back to normal (ish, as I'm peri menopausal they had started to vary in length) cycles now.

Curvylush83 · 08/03/2022 12:04

Hi yes I Experienced the same thing. So I got my 1st dose on the 28 of January this year and I was having cramps which is a sign if my period is on the way bcos I have PCOS although my period comes late by weeks or maybe a month but once I started having cramps and tender breast that means it's COMING!!!! So days after I got the vaccine I was so ill through out the weekend and the first thing I noticed was that the cramps stopped so I thought maybe period is here which has never happened to me before my cramps does not go away until after my period 🙃 so fast forward to February noting came and the cramps came back on the 28 of February and I just got my period yesterday 7th of March and to be honest this is one of the reasons why I didn't want to get the vaccines I was so afraid that it my affect my period or even stopped me from getting pregnant bcos we that suffer from PCOS are very very careful and paranoid 😳😳tbh I'm sure if I want to get the rest of the vaccines anymore if they want to come arrest me they should but I'm not sure if I want the rest anymore

henlee · 08/03/2022 12:17

No one is going to arrest you for not getting vaccinated @Curvylush83

I hope your symptoms settle down, and if you've decided that you don't want to take up the offer of boosters then fair enough, but this kind of response is ridiculous.

I also imagine if you have PCOS it's tricky to discern if a vaccine has actually caused these symptoms, rather than just happening in a similar timeframe.

pawpaws2022 · 09/03/2022 00:32

Mine has gone bonkers. Always have a cycle of 25/26 days. Last one was 32 days
I spotted or was on my period for 19 days in February Confused then this period is 8 days early and the worst period pain I've had since being a teenager
First 3 vaccines no issues but the 4th seems to have sent it haywire

Kohby190 · 09/03/2022 03:31

Maybe she lives in Austria? 🤷‍♀️
Curvylush83 · 09/03/2022 03:55

There's absolutely nothing ridiculous about my response dear,every women know their body and know when something is NOT RIGHT yes I suffer from PCOS but this is definitely Not pcos issues I've kept quite about since January but last night I told my aunt and she told me worse about her period she said she had some very thick blood like the size of an egg gushing out of her she does not have pcos like me ,she took her first dose 3 weeks ago is that ridiculous also ? or all the 30 thousand women that complained are ridiculous too .

Lalice93 · 03/04/2022 13:15

Just joined Mumsnet and so happy to hear I’m not the only one going through this. My last proper period was on 7th June 2021 and haven’t had one since 🙈. Had my first Pfizer vaccine 12th June so I’m convinced the vaccine has caused it as my periods were fine before. The doctors just don’t want to know! I was given progesterone tablets in November to try and kickstart them again and I had a withdrawal bleed but nothing else since. I’ve just had an ultrasound and came back normal. We want to start trying for a baby ASAP but the doctors just say that we have to have been trying for 18months before they’ll actually do anything to help. Surely it’s not possible to get pregnant if I’m not even having periods???.... very worrying!!

stripeymadness · 03/04/2022 13:39

More scaremongering @Kohby190

a basic websearch would show you that no one is austria is being arrested for not being vaccinated - they never even enforced compulsory vaccination there

Austria has decided to suspend its mandate for compulsory Covid-19 vaccinations for over-18s, days before it was due to start enforcing it.

That’s good to know, I hadn’t heard that they had changed their minds.

NaziaSugat21 · 29/07/2022 14:49
