I know it's unreasonable to expect everyone to stay at home but I'm about to test as a relatives husband has just tested positive. It's now come out that he is unvaccinated ....not sure why. He's told his wife that he doesn't want the vaccine 🙄Hmm

What is annoying me is that he has socialised all over Christmas with family and my parents, many who are elderly with underlying health problems and who can ill afford to get this virus.

Everyone now has to test .

Thankfully it seems everyone (apart from him) has had both vaccines and a booster. Risks of them catching it are low but not out of the realms of possibility .

Just feeling irritated that he's taken the risk of not being vaccinated and then mixed with everyone.

No point to this post apart from me letting off steam but grrrrr! So cross.

You might like to rethink your post, OP. Up to 90% of icu covid patients are UNBOOSTED, so by your standards you're lumping double vaxxed in with 'the unvaccinated'.

I'm fucking sick to death of people encouraging divide.

Time to pack in this shit stirring kind of thread, in fact I'm surprised @MNHQ are allowing this kind of thing when they're so trigger happy to pull other more mundane, less obviously goady threads. It brings out the trolls for starters, and encourages divide for another. I wouldn't have thought that was in the 'spirit of MN' as the admins plonk on many deleted threads.

The 90% boosted was a made number with no evidence for it, the Guardian should not be reporting it, and should be "Fact Checking" it, but don't because it fits a narrative they are also happy to spread.

@sirfredfredgeorge itv news reporting exactly the same story. So do you only believe the news when it fits YOUR narrative and not when it fits one you don't like?

Boris Johnson admitted the 90% figure wasn’t based on data, he said it was based on ‘anecdotal evidence’ from some particular NHS trusts.

@ApolloandDaphne

Having the vaccine wouldn't necessarily have stopped him getting it or transmitting it.
But it may have. Being vaccinated reduces the risk of you catching and transmitting covid.
