I know it's unreasonable to expect everyone to stay at home but I'm about to test as a relatives husband has just tested positive. It's now come out that he is unvaccinated ....not sure why. He's told his wife that he doesn't want the vaccine 🙄Hmm

What is annoying me is that he has socialised all over Christmas with family and my parents, many who are elderly with underlying health problems and who can ill afford to get this virus.

Everyone now has to test .

Thankfully it seems everyone (apart from him) has had both vaccines and a booster. Risks of them catching it are low but not out of the realms of possibility .

Just feeling irritated that he's taken the risk of not being vaccinated and then mixed with everyone.

No point to this post apart from me letting off steam but grrrrr! So cross.

Another who thinks you should “get a grip” and mind your own business while you’re at it!

samwitwicky · 28/12/2021 20:47

Don't be such a tool

ichundich · 28/12/2021 20:47

@Furloughedpissedoff

The last words a vaccinated 82 year old mother said to to her vaccinated 54 year old disabled / diabetic daughter, when she was was laying in bed ill "Mum I think I have Covid" Her mum's reply "don't be silly your fully vaccinated". 2 hours later she found her dead.
Because at 82 it is totally unexpected for somebody to die for any reason 🙄.
TrussOnABus · 28/12/2021 20:48

Christ another one! You sound just as stupid as the unvaccinated people you are trying to portray as such.

In case the million other comments here didn’t bring you back to reality: the vaccine does not stop you from catching nor transmitting the virus. It is purely to help you cope with it better if you have it. YOU are not at any increased or decreased risk of catching it or passing it along based on the vaccination status of the people around you.

And if you’re that bothered stop socialising all together

Cheer up OP Hmm

dilly123 · 28/12/2021 20:49

@Whiskyinajar

Blimey I touched some nerves here didn't I?

Time to get real folks..I have the right to an opinion same as you.

If you've refused vaccination you are beyond selfish

As long as elderly relatives don't get it from him and die as a result I am good.

I still think he is bloody selfish thought

Well aware that vaccinated people get it too...that's why I don't want unvaccinated idiots hanging round my vulnerable relatives.

Your reply makes no sense... you have admitted you understand vaccinated people can also spread it yet the unvaccinated person is the first person you would blame if anyone at said gathering tested positive?!! You need to stop letting the MSM brainwash you...

If you were that concerned then everyone regardless of vaccination status should have done LFT's before meeting

Flaxmeadow · 28/12/2021 20:51

As I understand it the unvaccinated are only a risk to themselves

Unfortunately you understand it wrong

traka · 28/12/2021 20:57

I've had both jabs and the booster. I was out today for five hours with my brother who hasn't had the vaccination

I've never asked him why, we don't talk about it, it's his decision. I've had mine, just concentrate on yourself. You can't control other ppl

MarchSurprise · 28/12/2021 20:58

It makes me laugh all the hatred toward the unvaccinated.

I'm happy to not be able to go to bars/restaurants and other venues if it means those that are desperate to blame us for the numbers see there's not much difference when unvaccinated are discriminated against. A

I find it's the vaccinated who are quick to invade my space out shopping because they're cocky. I, on the other hand, still keep social distancing where possible, have been in a supermarket about 10x since the pandemic, never a bar/restaurant. And happy to wear a mask.But you tell yourself it's us unvaccinated that are the problem

Spotthedog91 · 28/12/2021 21:00

@flaxmeadow then how do you explain why the majority of positive cases currently are vaccinated people who have spread to fellow vaccinated people??

OliveTree75 · 28/12/2021 21:00

@User754390

I also won't be having a booster in three months, the last one gave me shingles so I won't be having another.
I got shingles when I had covid. The nurse told me its more common when you are run down/fighting an infection or immune response etc. I doubt it was the actual vaccine that caused it.
PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 21:03

The vast majority of people are vaccinated.

Unvaccinated people aren’t more protected. They’re just rarer!

HelloNeighbour2021 · 28/12/2021 21:12

These post are getting so boring, why do people still believe that the unvaccinated are the super spreaders when it’s been clear since vaccinations started that you can still get and transmit to others if vaccinated. Vaccination only helps yourself as no benefit to others!!! And yes I’m vaccinated but couldn’t care less if people choose not too.

PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 21:13

Vaccination only helps yourself as no benefit to others!!!

It benefits others if I only have a mild illness and am able to go back to work instead of having had months off, or ended up in hospital needlessly.

Whathefisgoingon · 28/12/2021 21:17

Yep. We stayed at home for Christmas because some of DP’s unvaccinated relatives were out and about all over London in the week leading up to Christmas Day, not a care in the world that they could potentially ruin Christmas for all.

I had decided we weren’t going as soon as I saw all the posts of them out in various bars etc, but the nail in the coffin was when one of them got a “bad cold” on Christmas Eve.

Selfish.

Spotthedog91 · 28/12/2021 21:20

@purpledaisies I didn't say they were more protected, but I don't believe they pose any danger to the vaccinated.

Againstmachine · 28/12/2021 21:20

Selfish

Yes you are for judging people going out.

mamatro · 28/12/2021 21:22

@Spotthedog91

OP the fact he's unvaccinated makes absolutely no difference.

I'm not vaccinated. I'm not a selfish person. I test regularly and isolate if I've come into contact with someone.

Your attitude stinks. The people who are selfish are the ones who believe we should not have a choice as to what we put in our bodies.

Couldn't have said it better!! All this vaccinated unvaccinated bullshit is starting to piss me off!! Everyone that I know who has had covid around me has been vaccinated.. I've isolated from being in contact with one said person .. who by the government rules came to work knowing her dp had tested positive, they then spread it like wildfire.. the rules are fucked!! I didn't catch it and haven't done so far at all. We as humans have rights as to what we put in our bodies.
squishee · 28/12/2021 21:24

@skintasabint

I don't understand why people discuss if they are jabbed or not.
I do. But it does feel like the next question might be as to whether you're wormed or chipped.
Whathefisgoingon · 28/12/2021 21:25

@TrussOnABus You are wrong.

The vaccines ARE effective at reducing transmission. How can you not know this?

samyeagar · 28/12/2021 21:27

Yeah, we should have known better here with our family all getting together for Christmas. There were nine unvaccinated children at the get together, and all us triple jabbed ended up with covid. Never should have been around that many unvaccinated people, or at least those with the kids should have had the courtesy not to inflict them on the rest of us.
cherylshaw · 28/12/2021 21:47

This is really bothering me, I've not had the covid vaccine I test myself 3 times a week, wear my mask and would self isolate if I came into contact with someone positive. I was talking to a woman at work who is giving me alot of grief about the vaccine and she never tests herself, she just assumes she is immune to passing it on or catching it but stays clear of me incase I give her it?
It honestly makes no sense so many people are so brainwashed it's honestly really sad

I have relatives who had Covid symptoms and refused to test as "it can't be Covid, I am vaccinated". My FB is full of photos of positive LFT now. All vaccinated people, that surrounded themselves over xmas with other vaccinated people.

How do you know the vaccination status of the people who invade your space? Did they show you their Covid passport? Or could it just be possible that at least some of the people who come too close / don't wear a mask are also unvaccinated?

@Spotthedog91 This young (vaccinated) doctor died from Covid, which he contracted from an unvaccinated patient.

cherylshaw · 28/12/2021 21:58

It's madness and listen to the way people talk about each other! I'm disgusted at the divide people are making between vaccinated and unvaccinated
