I know it's unreasonable to expect everyone to stay at home but I'm about to test as a relatives husband has just tested positive. It's now come out that he is unvaccinated ....not sure why. He's told his wife that he doesn't want the vaccine 🙄Hmm

What is annoying me is that he has socialised all over Christmas with family and my parents, many who are elderly with underlying health problems and who can ill afford to get this virus.

Everyone now has to test .

Thankfully it seems everyone (apart from him) has had both vaccines and a booster. Risks of them catching it are low but not out of the realms of possibility .

Just feeling irritated that he's taken the risk of not being vaccinated and then mixed with everyone.

No point to this post apart from me letting off steam but grrrrr! So cross.

OP posts:
ApolloandDaphne · 28/12/2021 14:15

Having the vaccine wouldn't necessarily have stopped him getting it or transmitting it.

BlackCatz · 28/12/2021 14:15

Should he never step out the door again then?

FflosFfantastig · 28/12/2021 14:18

Of course it's only 'the unvaccinated' catching Covid 😆

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 28/12/2021 14:20

Confused people who have had vaccines x 2 and a booster get Covid too.

Remmy123 · 28/12/2021 14:20

'The unvaccinated' 😬

Op you can pass it on vaccinated or not ..you do know that dont you?

SagittariusDwarf · 28/12/2021 14:21

Exactly. Not had my booster as yet but caught covid after my second jab.
Sunshineboo · 28/12/2021 14:21

it places him more at risk surely?

eandz13 · 28/12/2021 14:21

🤦🏻‍♀️

BlackCatz · 28/12/2021 14:22

Everyone now has to test

... which they would have had to do regardless of whether he was vaccinated or not.

MrsTimRiggins · 28/12/2021 14:22

‘The unvaccinated’ stop ffs

BertieQueen · 28/12/2021 14:22

Why did you all not test before all meeting up for Christmas? Vaccinated or not this is what you should have done if you was worried especially having elderly relatives at the gathering.

We all tested before meet ups over Christmas.

flipflop76 · 28/12/2021 14:22

My brother hasn't had the vaccine but it didn't even cross my mind at Christmas as we've all had ours. It's up to him really.

Newyearnewme2022 · 28/12/2021 14:24

I really can’t get worked up about the unvaccinated, I’m triple jabbed and can still catch and spread it, if someone doesn’t get the jabs I think it’s only their own health they are putting at risk.
My ex brother in law died at the age of 50 from pneumonia caused by COVID, he was slim and fit and unvaccinated, ex sister in law who is overweight and has asthma didn’t test positive throughout, she is vaxxed.

ParkheadParadise · 28/12/2021 14:24

The unvaccinated 😂😂

Morechocmorechoc · 28/12/2021 14:25

You are just as much a ruck of catching and passing in covid having had the vaccine. Just less likely to get ill. Get your facts straight.

Flaxmeadow · 28/12/2021 14:26

The vaccinated can still catch it and pass it on but are less likely to compared with the unvaccinated

PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 14:27

Double vaxxed dh gave double vaxxed me covid.

LaBellina · 28/12/2021 14:29

The unvaccinated sounds like a group of people from a zombie apocalypse movie

EvilPea · 28/12/2021 14:30

It’s not his vaccine status that is causing the issue

IDespairOfTheHumanRace · 28/12/2021 14:31

'The Unvaccinated' - definition:

A new underclass of social pariahs, unclean, usually forced to wear sackcloth and ashes, outcasts, blamed for all the ills of humanity and usually to be seen, in the stocks, outside hospitals and medical centres, being bombarded with used vaccination needles and vials , by the worthy and 'wholesome'

sosijrol · 28/12/2021 14:33

@Whiskyinajar get over yourself. It’s none of your business if someone’s had the jabs or not.
Here in wales members of your household can test positive and as long as you test negative on lft you’re apparently free to roam potentially spreading it as long as you’ve had all the jabs. Cos THAT makes sense 🤯

rainbowandglitter · 28/12/2021 14:33

Really? So all these covid cases reported each day are from unvaccinated people are they? I know quite a few people that currently have it that are triple jabbed (one of them probably got it from their workplace as they've all gone down with it and are all triple jabbed).

McFarts · 28/12/2021 14:40

Here we have so many reasons as to why we "may" need another lockdown!!

I honestly despair as to why people cannot grasp that if youre vaccinated you are 70% less likely to need hospital care, you are also less likely to catch and spread it!

I hate that we will likely find ourselves in a position where people who have chosen not to vaccinate will likely be unable to socialise freely for much longer, im generally very much pro choice, but right now i dont think thats something we can afford.

Im not vaccinated because i dont trust my own immune system! i am vaccinated because i dont know how well the people stood behind me at the bar's immune system functions.

ShaneTheThird · 28/12/2021 14:40

Erm ok. I'm unvaccinated, went to DPS family on Christmas day they are all vaccinated. Turns out they had all been in contact with another vaccinated relative who had covid before bringing it round on Xmas and they are all now positive. So far unvaxxed me is neg but if I get it it's the fault of vaccinated people in this situation.

littlepeas · 28/12/2021 14:42

He probably caught it off a vaccinated person - I expect most people do given significantly more people are vaccinated than not…
