"As pressure from virus rises, PM will give national address at 8pm tonight, updating the booster programme - sounds like this will NOT include new restrictions"

So he's just going to witter at us for the sake of hearing his own voice, then?

bagofconkers · 12/12/2021 17:07

Sounds like it!

Do we need a national address to give update on the booster programme? Confused

Nell7 · 12/12/2021 17:09

Why is this necessary? It all we hear on the news 24/7.

Surely he's going to announce more restrictions?

jimmyhill · 12/12/2021 17:09

Of course no new restrictions, that's next Sunday's address. Can't lockdown before schools close.

Covid: UK alert level raised to four due to Omicron

Alert 4 is 'social distancing' level of alert.

He's going to tell us all that given its alert 4 we all need to make sensible decisions and take responsibility for ourselves. That means shield if appropriate.

Probably.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:11

What will he do then?
We are level four now apparently?
First time since last year ( I think ?)
I cannot predict what he can possibly say ?
.. anyone?

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2021 17:12

I vote
1 finger for the words 'social distancing'
1 finger for 'take responsibility'
Down your drink for 'lockdown'

I think that will suffice.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2021 17:13

First time since May and they started to relax restrictions.

Going into Alert 4 should make you think that restrictions incoming this week are increasingly likely.

Motorina · 12/12/2021 17:13

Maybe he wants to get a break from the new baby and nappies?

Maybe he just wants to remind us he's still PM (for now)?

Maybe he just really really likes hearing himself speak?

Sooooo, odds on whether he will have brushed his hair.

littlepeas · 12/12/2021 17:13

8pm gives me the heebie jeebies.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 17:13

Does he think we want to hear him 8pm on a Sunday night for no other reason than to put the fear dial a bit higher

God starting to loathe and the digital quiz didn’t even do that..

Whinge · 12/12/2021 17:14

Boost the booster programme.

Alack, Alas

PicsInRed · 12/12/2021 17:14

If level 4 is social distancing, what would this mean for work/personal Christmas parties and school events?

Back to online?

AnyFucker · 12/12/2021 17:14

Maybe he is resigning.

Viviennemary · 12/12/2021 17:15

I bet he is resigning. First thing that came into my head. 8pm Sunday night. Bit strange.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:15

Not a Christmas lockdown ?
Nobody will follow it anyway.

TheCaddieisaBaddie · 12/12/2021 17:15

Maybe he wants to introduce a national Christmas quiz.

repottingthescabious · 12/12/2021 17:15

'Attention, Underclass! Do as i say not as i do.....'

Viviennemary · 12/12/2021 17:15

Great minds.Grin

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:15

@TheCaddieisaBaddie

Maybe he wants to introduce a national Christmas quiz.
Q1 , ' how many children do I have now ' ?
gherdl · 12/12/2021 17:16

I think I might give it a miss, can't bear his smirking face when he says one thing and does the opposite himself

IncessantNameChanger · 12/12/2021 17:17

Fingers crossed no lockdown 🤞🤞🤞

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 17:17

Plan B still needs to be voted on..
