"As pressure from virus rises, PM will give national address at 8pm tonight, updating the booster programme - sounds like this will NOT include new restrictions"

@RedToothBrush Grin
Thanks for the drinking game! Wine

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:19

I'm actually having a bit of a cry now .. it's just the dread of all the shit returning after a few months of ( almost ) being a bit more ' normal '
I know people won't comply with any bubbles or tiers or not seeing anyone at Christmas etc etc
Jan will be awful 😞

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 12/12/2021 17:19

Oh fuck off Borris. I've had just about enough of covid now. 😑

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:19

He might be resigning??
.,just a thought

MamDancer · 12/12/2021 17:19

Level 4: a COVID-19 epidemic is in general circulation; transmission is high and pressure on healthcare services is widespread and substantial or rising

Oh shit. Level 5 incoming..... Xmas Sad

Fashionista1995 · 12/12/2021 17:20

Hopefully he’ll surprise us all and it’ll be his resignation

ForsythiaInBloom · 12/12/2021 17:20

What Motorina said!

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:20

Someone on lbc this morning said about a briefing but the presenter didn't know anything then ., this is quick !
His family time didn't last long

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 17:21

A resignation and no more level alerts..,

3peassuit · 12/12/2021 17:21

Maybe he’s going to resign live on air. I’d certainly have a drink for that.

Greenhand · 12/12/2021 17:21

Sadly I agree. And level 5 must = lockdown according to the definition (severe social distancing)
FOJN · 12/12/2021 17:21

Q1
*"how many children do I have now" ?

"No, sorry that's not part of the quiz but if anyone does know the answer could they let me know because I've lost track."

littlepeas · 12/12/2021 17:21

Oh God please no lockdown.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 12/12/2021 17:22

Gosh there are some dramatic people on here.

IcedPurple · 12/12/2021 17:22

That was my first thought.

8 on a Sunday evening isn't the time for a 'get your booster' type broadcast. It's either that or major new restrictions, but we're told it's nto that so?

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2021 17:24

@littlepeas

8pm gives me the heebie jeebies.
The 8pm Sunday Slot is generally the 'its really fucking serious and shit folks' slot, I'll give you that.
Overthebow · 12/12/2021 17:24

Surely no one would actually comply with a lock down now so what would be the point of implementing it? I’m guessing just a few waffle words on cutting social contacts if you can, working from home and booster program.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:24

Dramatic people ?
I think we are just pondering what our PM might say and the fact we are now in level four !
I don't feel that is dramatic
My tears about how hopeless it feels to be honest !

DarknessAndLight · 12/12/2021 17:24

Ffs. Just had enough.

thedarkling · 12/12/2021 17:25

The important question is, is this before or after Strictly results?

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 12/12/2021 17:26

It will likely be get your booster or we will face restrictions or restrictions until a certain amount are boostered.

Or resigning.

Please calm down guys. We need to get through this what ever the outcome.

Charliealphatangorara · 12/12/2021 17:26

Quitting

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:26

Will anyone not see people this Christmas?
Honestly ?
They are now trying to push water uphill with any draconian restrictions I'm afraid

AlwaysLatte · 12/12/2021 17:26

Maybe more restrictions, particularly around travel and large gatherings. I think given the new variant they're needed.
