"As pressure from virus rises, PM will give national address at 8pm tonight, updating the booster programme - sounds like this will NOT include new restrictions"

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 17:27

@Borisjohnsonshairbrush

It will likely be get your booster or we will face restrictions or restrictions until a certain amount are boostered.

Or resigning.

Please calm down guys. We need to get through this what ever the outcome.

I really don’t think he’d resign like that

So just scare factor up to get booster

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 12/12/2021 17:27

Perhaps he's just televising this year's Christmas Quiz?

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:27

I am calm, the tears just frustration really
Plus Nicola on Friday was grim with her tsunami analogy, I admit I felt the fear then!
.. :(
It's so shit

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 12/12/2021 17:28

And yes Ive not seen my family for 3years and I'm supposed to be leaving the country and seeing them next Sunday. I could either have a nervous break down and cry or stay calm and get my head around it.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2021 17:28

@thedarkling

The important question is, is this before or after Strictly results?
Oh you've reminded me I haven't checked the spoiler yet...

...its cough cough going out.

ElizabethG81 · 12/12/2021 17:29

Unless he's resigning I'm not interested.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2021 17:29

I've seen the strictly spoiler !

Good evening good people of Brexit Britain. I stand before you tonight to inform you that I will be on paternity leave until mid January 2022. My deputy Mr. Raab will give you the bad news about more restrictions tomorrow and our trade and economic situation post Brexit.
I will party on with my little (current) family, and will return when all the bad news has been imparted.
Good evening and have a good Christmas.

gherdl · 12/12/2021 17:29

He was very grave last year though at the pressers and then they were all partying so can't really take him seriously any more.

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2021 17:29

My first thought was resignation but i dont think he'd ever resign

littlepeas · 12/12/2021 17:30

I’m not sure I want him to resign! Who will we get instead? There isn’t anyone decent.

Figgygal · 12/12/2021 17:30

You would think he had better things to do if there's nothing new to report other than what's reported on news

littlepeas · 12/12/2021 17:30

Not that I’m saying he’s decent….but all of them are crap.

tootyfruitypickle · 12/12/2021 17:31

I don't think he'd ever resign he will go one day in a leadership challenge.

If he does I'm off to the offy for some prosecco though Grin

JudgeJ · 12/12/2021 17:31

@Motorina

So he's just going to witter at us for the sake of hearing his own voice, then?
And if he didn't broadcast or make statements you would still be here, moaning that he was unconcerned!
tootyfruitypickle · 12/12/2021 17:32

He just wants a different headline tomorrow and to 'reset' the news agenda. So he must say something significant, but I can't see what .

MamDancer · 12/12/2021 17:33

Anyone know the current R rate?

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2021 17:34

@codexa

And this is why I am not sure I'd celebrate at his resignation. Raab is deputy and Gove is actual deputy who chairs cobra meetings
gherdl · 12/12/2021 17:34

He was angry that the BBC hadn't reported much on the boosters and were reporting on the quiz night and parties so perhaps that's why he's doing it

Roominmyhouse · 12/12/2021 17:34

Lots of people on Twitter who are confusing level 4 with the tier system of last year.

hollyivysaurus · 12/12/2021 17:34

Oh excellent. I look forward to hearing the new three part slogan he’ll undoubtedly be launching.

For bullshit bingo I’d like to call ‘alas’ ‘common sense’ and ‘in this together’ Grin

I also look forward to him promising no new restrictions. Ahead of undoubtedly introducing new ones for next weekend (when schools break up) or the other side of Christmas.

Claudethecat · 12/12/2021 17:34

Oh if only it was a resignation statement!

If the whole UK is going to level 4, does that mean social distancing again? BBC are saying no new restrictions though, so hopefully not.

CrunchyCarrot · 12/12/2021 17:35

Probably is going to tell us a massive wave of Omicron is going to wash up on our shores imminently and we must be vigilant and do our bit to keep everyone safe. And have our boosters.

God only knows what he'll say about Christmas though.

PicsInRed · 12/12/2021 17:35

Ugh, Sky are calling it "address the nation", rather than press conference.

8pm, Sunday, address the nation.

Fear and Loathing.
