It goes to show that charm will get you places. BJ has it, DC does not. Boris Johnson is likeable, he has something about him which makes people ignore all the really shitty/stupid things he does. Few politicians possess that quality, Cummings definitely lacks it. Which is why people will eye roll and laugh that Boris has just been a bit of a dozy twat again, whereas DC is seen as spiteful and nasty.
