@the80sweregreat

I think the Tories will just brazen it out. They know people don't like Starmer either. They are ahead in the polls. They won't do anything yet ..
This.
MHIssues · 16/06/2021 21:06

Surely the number one rule of any job is to never put this sort of stuff in writing? Keep it verbal…..saying that I bet Cummings has had a dictaphone on constant record for ages!

frumpety · 16/06/2021 21:08

They all have jobs for the next three years, plenty of time to feather their nests before the next election.

Yes.

The more Dominic Cummings spews out, the more it looks like Dominic Cummings was the biggest problem in Government at a time we needed our politicians and civil servants to work together effectively - he’s an arrogant man, loathed by most who worked with or anywhere near him, capable only of being destructive and destabilising and incapable of accepting responsibility for his own massive failings, only of finding fault in others. He knows how to criticise and pull things apart but has no leadership ability, lacks empathy for other human beings and is a proven liar. I think the man has a personality disorder.

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 21:15

I bet they will say ' pm was frustrated, it happens' etc.
I agree that DC is showing signs of some kind of disorder. It is bizarre and it's clear he has it in for Matt Hancock

They do all have jobs for the next 3 years, but don’t forget quite a few of them would quite fancy a go at Boris’ job!

frumpety · 16/06/2021 21:19

Probably true, but he also got Brexit done and Boris the top job, so a useful sort.

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 21:22

Boris will swan off into the sunset eventually with his expensive wallpaper under one arm and not give a monkeys!
My fear is who will replace him ?

frumpety · 16/06/2021 21:22

Yeah but it's way to early to play their hand, if Boris goes too early, it will be a bloodbath.

nancy75 · 16/06/2021 21:24

In some ways I think Boris would be quite relieved to be shown the door. He’s moaning he’s skint & this is certainly not the job he thought he was getting.
Boris envisioned flag waving Brexit glory & he got a pandemic & pissed off fishermen

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 21:24

Gove has played the long game. He is my next bet for leader :(

😀 Yes, that's true enough !
frumpety · 16/06/2021 21:27

Anyone fancy a fiver on Boris going in the next 18 months, an interim PM and then Gove going for it ?

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 21:28

Possibility? Gove stabbing people in the back is right up his street. He'll probably give DC his old job back too.
ThursdayWeld · 16/06/2021 21:28

I used to respect Cummings as an operator. But he's just looking increasingly petty and sour now. He's away from the levers of power and he doesn't like it.

TheTuesdayPringle · 16/06/2021 21:29

I feel sick that these people were voted into power. Just all round awful people.

ThursdayWeld · 16/06/2021 21:30

Also Cummings thought he was going to be the main show in that Parliamentary committee, would be top of the news cycle for days, might bring down Boris. Not so much...

PandoraP · 16/06/2021 21:30

I think people will emphasise with BJ as we have all bitched about colleagues on what’s up.

Cummings is no worse than Alistair Campbell.

I can’t see him making the end of his term. Who do we think would put them self forward? Gove definitely, Sunak, Priti Patel (god help us!)
frumpety · 16/06/2021 21:32

I don't think Boris will want to be anywhere near the top job or possibly even in the country when the public inquiry presents its findings, perhaps he might join his Dad in France ?

He’s booked a month in a deluxe fridge
TheTuesdayPringle · 16/06/2021 21:34

That hardly makes it OK.

When will people grow up and use the power entrusted to them to run the country instead of spin, manipulate, lie, cheat, bicker and essentially push their egos. Grotesque

I didn't say that it makes it OK. But everything people throw at Cummings can be said about Campbell. He invented the art of political spin. And Blair lied to Parliament.
