Boris is Teflon with the public, but none of this is for our benefit.
This is for the Tory party, the people that can oust Boris before an election & vote in a new leader.
I’m sure there are a lot of Tory MPs worried tonight that Cummings has a message from Boris with their name in it & that message might be all over Twitter in the next few days

Gavin Williamson used to be the chief whip, he has dirt on everyone that’s how they keep MPs in line especially when they have a small majority as they had then

But that’s the public, not the MPs. We don’t get a vote for years yet.

@eurochick - WhatsApp isn't nearly as secure as you think it is. Pretty silly to use it in government. Much better to use something like Signal.

They don’t need to like him, they just need to believe him when he says Boris is not their best interest, not best for the party, too damaged, not going to support them.

Look at what happened to Thatcher, 1987 landslide victory, 102 seat majority, ousted by her own party by 1990.
All you need is to sow a bit of division in the party, get them all worried about their own backs...

They know people don't like Starmer either.
They are ahead in the polls.

We’ll see. Johnson is Teflon enough to get out of that WhatsApp message easy. See what else Cummings discloses, he’s a snake and not sure how he’s doing this.

Who hasn’t had a good swear at work about a colleague anyway, and that’s just mediocre non critical stuff
