Yes it really is very surprising that this information can be made public from private WhatsApp conversations. Meghan Markle sued the dm for releasing private letters that she could have expected would remain private. You would think at the heart of government the same would apply.

I'm all for whistle blowing but this isn't that, it is childish crap. As I say yes submit to the commission but not on Twitter. Imagine if courts of law did this with witnesses releasing all their gossip/evidence.

Yes surely confidentiality should be a very basic government law. Bit like Drs couldn't just release private WhatsApp chats with famous people.

It was obvious hancock was always going to be the fall guy. Poor leadership to acknowledge someone is doing crap and likely needs help or reprimanding and to bitch about it on WhatsApp rather than address it. In other jobs ultimately the buck usually ends with management, it should be the same here- Boris is as guilty as anyone for being useless. Cummings is still a knob though.

I always got the impression Dominic was pretty universally hated and only Boris liked him (for some reason).

The ones that hate him clearly got it right. What a slime ball he is. Does he not see that he is destroying his own reputation as well as trying to destroy the reputation of others? Who on earth would employ or trust the weasel ever again.

Cummings doesn’t have a reputation to destroy, publicly everyone already hates him. Nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose & a phone full of damning WhatsApp messages!

As I understand it, Cummings was protected by Boris last year with the whole Barnard Castle episode? What made Cummings stab Boris in the back?

He worked with Gove as special advisor from 2007 to 2014, I think it was also Give that got him involved in running vote leave.
It’s always been my opinion that Cummings knows Gove would struggle to win an election but was using Boris (first by helping him get elected, then by destroying him) to get Gove in to number 10 by the back door.

Honestly can’t bear any of them , but it’s all very well saying ‘fire them’ and slagging them off . Who was he suggesting instead because frankly Hancock was the only person on offer . No one else would have touched the job with a barge pole.

They all are, all of it’s about self preservation. Notice in the messages Boris is worried because of opinion polls & focus groups - he’s not actually bothered that the ineptitude of MH is killing people, he’s just worried about how it looks

I hope this stuff is just the prelude, the light overture to the really major shit. Looking forward to what’s next.

Boris is teflon. Doesn't seem to matter what he does, nothing sticks. Cummings is just making himself look like a back stabbing low life because even people who don't like this government, still tend to think that there should be a reasonable expectation of privacy and confidentiality with regard to these conversations.
I don't think Hancock deserves to be the fall guy - the whole government has made some shocking decisions, not least the PM and DC! It's a bit pot calling the kettle black to say Hancock is useless. The PM's refusal to shut borders is why we are where we are right now. Buck stops and all that. Only it won't because, Boris is teflon
