And/or send him any WhatsApp messages 😬

What I want to know is why is only one picture of Whatsapp a screencap and the rest are photos of screens? Why could a smart guy like him not figure it out? Or was there something on the device preventing him? Why do some of the pictures have glare as if he didn’t have the time to line them up properly?

Also amusing to see even those running country use some textspeak.

SueSaid · 16/06/2021 14:47

I supported his BC thing but can't quite believe what a shambolic rambling prat he is coming across as now. I bet we've all called colleagues fucking hopeless in supposed private chats, even those with very senior roles.

Is he having a breakdown of some sort?

MarshaBradyo · 16/06/2021 14:52

You know he would message whatever thought he had at the moment, usually with MH or someone at centre of it

You can imagine short shrift is best way to respond each time

SueSaid · 16/06/2021 14:53

Maybe MH has screen shots from a secret group chat where they all say Cummings is a slimy, arrogant egomaniac and not to be trusted. Time will tell.

3asAbird · 16/06/2021 15:17

I think he's amusing and I trust dom more than Hancock.

Has anyone seen this witty you tube video dom cry me a refurb its hilarious.

Problem is if we manage get rid of Boris who replaces him.
Hancock and having so need to go.
So do many of them.

SueSaid · 16/06/2021 15:26

'I think he's amusing and I trust dom'

How funny because last year on mn he was the world's least trusted person!

yearoflostyouth · 16/06/2021 15:40

Couple of things occur to me: Obviously DC hates MH far more than BJ and really wants to take him down. Plus maybe BJ and others need a fall guy as pp says, and MH is the obvious contender. Could be BJ is in on this also. Plus apparently MG and DC are still on good terms (can't see how myself, but it is politics after all) and those photos of MG in Portugal and smoking outside a pub made him look either a plonker or someone trying to race BJ to the bottom for the lowest common denominator vote.
Clearly there will be more and time will tell. I would suggest that trying to make MH carry the can for BJ's failing as well as his own collossal ones will not work when people look back in history.

Cornettoninja · 16/06/2021 15:42

@twilightermummy

Yes but this confirms that the PM doesn’t have any confidence in him so, why should we?
I agree, but then I never have any confidence in him or any of the tories.

He's not "playing the long game"

He's just being a petty snake

I think he is playing some sort of move, why not present those messages to the inquiry instead of releasing them himself? He’s a horrible man but he knows how to manipulate; I’m interested in his endgame here.

Slipperrr · 16/06/2021 15:44

@hedgehogger1

It's WhatsApp really the way government officials should be communicating?
WhatsApp is extremely secure (unless you physically lose your phone), but I do wonder as it's work related it would be subject to a FOI request, in theory it should be if its work related. The internal comms messenger is.
Orf1abc · 16/06/2021 15:49

We seem to have become immune to all the harm this government has caused. Yes, we all knew Hancock was incompetent, and in a normal work situation we might laugh that off. But this man has control of the NHS, and his incompetence has indirectly resulted in 130,000 deaths.

It's not funny.

ICanSmellSummerComing · 16/06/2021 15:50

Year, can I ask which gove photos you are looking at please.
I'm wondering how smoking and outside a pub (clutches Pearl's) appeals to the "lowest common denominator =

ICanSmellSummerComing · 16/06/2021 15:54

Orf,

I don't blame you them, him for every death but the care home scandal was horrific.
And why, the second someone realised what was going on, why didn't it stop

I knew from someone on the ground, that this was happening and she was only working sparodically.

Many many people got this infection whilst in hospital so we urgently need to look into infection control in hospital.
Ventilation and windows.
I was in hospital twice, (day appt) during last wave and neither time not a single door wedged open and not a single window was open. I was pounced on for temps theatre but no actual good ventilation from a plain old window and nature = fresh air Confused

Anjo2011 · 16/06/2021 15:55

Shows Cummings to be a prick too. Untrustworthy and a unemployable!

sleepwouldbenice · 16/06/2021 16:05

Yes I agree he's going to find it hard to get another job surely???

3asAbird · 16/06/2021 16:07

I'm not dom lover hes a wanker but so is bojo.
Let's face it Cummings was hired to do dastardly dealings on behalf of bojo now bojo surprised does turned.
I have feeling gives upto something as vaguely remember some issues during tory leadership battle after they successfully got may gone.
They do play the long game to power.
Now does playing the long game to destroy Hancock and bojo its karma at work.

Its scary during a pandemic we have worst helath secretary ever.
If Hancock goes because of this than that will be fantastic.
Bojo maybe more difficult to dethrone but angry tories are ruthless so time will tell whos pulling doms strings.

Lindy2 · 16/06/2021 16:08

I always got the impression Dominic was pretty universally hated and only Boris liked him (for some reason).

The ones that hate him clearly got it right. What a slime ball he is. Does he not see that he is destroying his own reputation as well as trying to destroy the reputation of others? Who on earth would employ or trust the weasel ever again.

TaraR2020 · 16/06/2021 16:10

@Iknowtheanswer

Have you read his blog? I had a look, and he really rambles.
I did when I first heard of it last year, what a load of sh*t

And he really is a spiteful, devious piece of work.

I can help feeling a flicker of sympathy for Mart Hancock, I thought right at the start of the pandemic he was being set up for a fall and just look at it.

This whole scenario has played out in such a way as to save the real villains (Boris, Cummings etc) and hang out Matt H to dry as the scapegoat. He's clearly not cut from the same cloth, and have heard second hand (from very left wing friends who've worked with him) that he's one of the decent ones.

How many times have we seen this all play out at work? Angry

Slipperrr · 16/06/2021 16:11

It should probably be a lesson for the future. Why are people with zero background in the roles they are randomly assigned as MPs? I can get that professional medical staff for example aren't also MPs and vice versa; but there must be a better way?
TaraR2020 · 16/06/2021 16:12

(Not to say, btw, that I think Matt H has handled it brilliantly, but the whole pandemic has been mismanaged, a shambles, and the buck stops with Boris)

NinaMimi · 16/06/2021 16:15

@Bloomsbury45

Dominic Cummings is the best example ever of Boris Johnsons complete lack of judgement.
Yes this! Amongst so many other examples.

This. People think it's a joke, no one cares its so fucking depressing.
twilightermummy · 16/06/2021 16:39

TruelyonelastSchlep

He had no confidence in him more than a year ago. When the world went loopy and nobody knew for sure what to do.

We don't know what Boris thinks of Hancock now. The fact that so far he has not thrown Hancock under a bus to save his own arse suggests things have more on a bit.

Well I doubt that the PM has much confidence in him now. I imagine that he will struggle to currently sack him as it would reaffirm all that Cummings has said to date.

newnortherner111 · 16/06/2021 16:43

Can anyone name a second competent government minister? The only one I can think of is Ben Wallace the defence secretary.

Matt Hancock is not the only one out of his depth.

Zzelda · 16/06/2021 16:53

Johnson is a total pillock to put everything in writing knowing that if he fell out with Cummings it was inevitable that it would all be published. But then Johnson being a pillock isn't exactly a novelty.

MyBossIsATwat · 16/06/2021 17:03

No wonder Johnson felt like he couldn’t sack him after the testing his eyesight with a drive thing.
