Stories of the vaccine with NO or few side effects

I Have mine booked for next weekend, I’m not scared of Covid (yes following the rules anyway) but I’m terrified of the vaccine effects. It’s like deliberately giving myself the symptoms of bloody Covid by the sounds of it.

I know it’s not logical but if I can hear some “I was fine” that would help. All my family who have had it are/were ill to varying degrees. Pretty much all my family and friends bar two (both underlying issues) didn’t get as ill from actually having Covid, I know the vaccine is the right thing to do but could do with some positivity!

I had Pfizer first dose and just a sore arm the next day.

I had Pfizer second dose and just had a sore arm the next day and for about 3 hours in the following evening my throat felt sore when I swallowed, but by the end of the movie I was watching it was right as rain again.

Nothing since, and I'm nearly a week post my second dose.

I have the flu vaccine and never get side effects from that either, so it felt much the same really.

Had my first jab (AZ) on 12th March. Arm was slightly achy for a few days, but no worse than when I have the flu jab. Had a very mild headache the next afternoon which went away with paracetamol (and might not even have been a side effect of the vaccine).

DH had a slightly sore arm, hardly worth mentioning.

I was slightly tired the following day and had a nap which I wouldn't usually - it happened to be a lazy Sunday afternoon, otherwise I could have pushed through; it wasn't as if I desperately needed that nap. Tiredness lasted less than five hours.

I had AZ. First dose only so far. Zero side effects. Not even a sore arm.

My parents are in their 80s. Both got the Pfizer vaccine and neither had any side effects whatsoever.

I had AZ last week. Took paracetamol before & for the next 24 hrs just in case but I had zero side effects. Not even a sore arm.

DH had his yesterday and was awake for about half an hour last night feeling ‘a bit achey’. He had a temperature which passed as soon as he took paracetamol and he seems absolutely fine this morning.

We are 30s & have had Covid.

70 year old DF and mid 40’s DP had 1st AZ with no side effects at all from their reports. I’ve had 1st Pfizer and experienced joint pain and feeling a bit off for a couple of days but I’ve got an autoimmune condition so expected that to flare a bit.

From people I know who’ve been vaccinated with a mixture of AZ and Pfizer the most severe reaction has been from a second Pfizer dose so far and that was feeling generally fluey and was sorted after a day in bed in an early 30’s female.

In all I think it’s been pretty much okay in my circle.

Parents in their 80’s both had 2 jabs of Pfizer and no side effects other than a sore arm .

Husband 50’s Pfizer 1 jab no side effects other than sore arm

Me 50’s AZ 1 jab sore arm and felt like I was fighting a cold for a couple of days .

I'm 30 and had AZ no side effects at all! Not even a small headache.

Honestly, in all areas of life you really only hear about the negatives/complaints so it's natural most threads on here are of that type.

I recommend some paracetamol before you go rather than waiting to see if you have side effects.
