Stories of the vaccine with NO or few side effects

I Have mine booked for next weekend, I’m not scared of Covid (yes following the rules anyway) but I’m terrified of the vaccine effects. It’s like deliberately giving myself the symptoms of bloody Covid by the sounds of it.

I know it’s not logical but if I can hear some “I was fine” that would help. All my family who have had it are/were ill to varying degrees. Pretty much all my family and friends bar two (both underlying issues) didn’t get as ill from actually having Covid, I know the vaccine is the right thing to do but could do with some positivity!

No actual side effects at all.

I had the AZ, and thought I had a sore arm the next day, before realizing it was the wrong arm.

My Mum had the Pfizer, she was absolutely fine. I felt a bit rough that afternoon because I had got really cold waiting in the car for her.

tinytoucan · 06/04/2021 21:00

Had my 2nd Pfizer yesterday. Arm was quite achey but that’s it, all good!

EmotionallyEncumbered · 06/04/2021 21:08

I've had my first AZ jab, no side effects at all, guess I could tell where on my arm I'd had the jab, but wouldn't have even noticed it any other day. I'll add that I'm normally a complete wimp who moans at the slightest ache, pain or sniffle.

badlydrawnbear · 06/04/2021 21:09

I had Pfizer. After the first one, I had a very mild headache the next day which may or may not have been related. I was tired but didn't even consider that as a side effect as I was working night shifts so assumed I was tired from work. The second one I felt ill for a day (tired but again had done some crazy night shifts, too hot and too cold, a bit achy, had one dose of paracetamol and was better the next day).

icedancerlenny · 06/04/2021 21:12

My arm hurt a little bit.

Slayduggee · 06/04/2021 21:13

MIL had AZ and didn’t notice any side effects. SIL had AZ and her arm was ever so slightly sore. FIL had Pfizer and had a bit of a headache but he thinks that was due to him getting worked up beforehand (never goes to the doctor ever).

Lots of friends had AZ and one felt a little under the weather after. Everyone else was fine. One friend had Pfizer and had a bit of a headache after but was fine after the second jab.

Still waiting for mine.

Thefamilybusiness · 06/04/2021 21:15

Myself and dh both have had 1 AZ jab. Both had a sore arm for a few days and felt a little run down for about 24 hours, that was all, we were fine.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 06/04/2021 21:15

My mother inlaw has now had both doses of Pfizer. Didn't even get a sore arm.

My husband who is a giant baby and needle phobic too. I was expecting drama. He was in and out in 10 minutes. Only side affect was a sore arm for a day. Which couldn't have been that bad because he was still carrying the toddler and cooked dinner

My sister and a couple of friends had a headache for a few hours. Paracetamol sounds like it sort that fine.

Not hear of one person in real life with more than a sore arm or headache for the day.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 06/04/2021 21:18

Forgot to say my husband had AZ

madaboutrunning · 06/04/2021 21:20

Me - AZ. No side effects at all for vaccine 1 and just a bit tired after no 2.
DH - Pfizer. No side effects at all for vaccine 1 and a day of fatigue after no 2.
DF and DM - both pfizer and both no side effects at all from 1 or 2.
DMIL - AZ - no side effects from 1 or 2.
DSIS - AZ - no side effects.

17bluebirds · 06/04/2021 21:23

My arm was sore around the injection site if I poked it. It felt like a small bruise.
Within 48 hours is was fine, and to be honest if I hadn't kept poking it I would not have had any pain at all.

NeverBeenNormal · 06/04/2021 21:25

I was a bit tired the next day but that's probably just my workload! Went to bed early. Absolutely fine after that.

Even those I know who had a bit of a bad reaction were fine after a few days. MUCH MUCH better than Covid.

Iwant2move · 06/04/2021 21:27

Had AZ. Arm slightly sore if I prodded it, otherwise zero side effects.

toastfiend · 06/04/2021 21:29

Neither of my parents had any side effects at all. Mildly achy arm, perhaps, but nothing bad. DM was out for a 6 mile walk with me the next day and i was struggling to keep up with her!

notagainmummy · 06/04/2021 21:34

Sore arm for a day

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 06/04/2021 21:34

AZ, zero side effects, didn't even feel the needle go in, but watched so knew I'd had it.
No reactions at all until day three, when I rolled over in bed and was delighted to feel the injection site. I'd been wondering if my sub standard immune system was going to react, so feeling a slight warmth and hardness when I pressed on the injection site was comforting.

I've had much worse reactions to mosquito bites.

Theworldisfullofgs · 06/04/2021 21:43

AZ vaccine. Slightly sore arm. That was it, nothing else at all.

snowone · 06/04/2021 21:44

I had Pfizer and I had a sore arm for about 36 hours!

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 06/04/2021 21:54

I had the vaccine 30 hours ago.

I've still got a bit of a headache (undoubtedly a side effect) and feel a bit tired (could be a side effect, but could just be the result of a really busy period with work and not having had a single day off in 3 weeks)

It was the Pfizer vaccine too, and I've heard that's meant to be worse for side effects than the AZ vaccine.

If I had the symptoms otherwise, I'd describe myself as feeling 'a bit off colour' and probably put it down to being a bit overworked. It's nothing horrific.

I haven't even got better phone signal, the bastards

Mumof1andacat · 06/04/2021 22:02

None at all. Pfizer. I've has both vaccines.

theheartofthematter · 06/04/2021 22:02

I had Pfizer, so did my mum and dad and we had zero side effects. My DP had the AZ one and had no side effects

Hersetta427 · 06/04/2021 22:36

Not a single side effect - not even a sore arm. Second dose in may.

trunumber · 06/04/2021 22:37

NHS worker here so I know loads of people who've had it. In my department of 12 people only 2 had side effects l the others had nothing at all. The 6 other people in my life who've had it also had no side effects.

Feelingpoorlysick · 06/04/2021 22:41

I had my jab on the Saturday afternoon, I felt more tired than usual that evening and then just felt like I was coming down with a cold for a few days after. I was fine by the weds. Worst bit for me was a painful arm!

Stillgoings · 06/04/2021 22:46

My arm ached for 5 days. I felt cold and shivery the first 2 nights and that was it. My husband was the same minus the shivering
