Stories of the vaccine with NO or few side effects

I Have mine booked for next weekend, I’m not scared of Covid (yes following the rules anyway) but I’m terrified of the vaccine effects. It’s like deliberately giving myself the symptoms of bloody Covid by the sounds of it.

I know it’s not logical but if I can hear some “I was fine” that would help. All my family who have had it are/were ill to varying degrees. Pretty much all my family and friends bar two (both underlying issues) didn’t get as ill from actually having Covid, I know the vaccine is the right thing to do but could do with some positivity!

Sorry should have said that was the AZ.

MaryShelley1818 · 06/04/2021 16:34

Myself, parents, grandparents, in laws, brother, sister in law, uncle, and all my colleagues (Social Work) have been vaccinated with a mix of Pfizer and AZ and no serious side effects. Most had nothing/sore arm, 2 colleagues felt a little rough but were fine after a good night sleep.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2021 16:34

8 of my family members have had it, and 3 of my work colleagues and no one has been ill. A few achy arms but that's it. Age ranges between 28 and 78.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2021 16:35

Most of them were AZ, 2 of them were Pfizer.

Oblomov21 · 06/04/2021 16:57

Almost none.
Minorly Sore/heavy arm for 2 days with Pfizer 1. Same but less sore arm with Pfizer dose 2.

Janedownourlane · 06/04/2021 16:58

DP and mself both had AZ a week ago. I had a slightly sore arm for 48 hours, he had no side effects at all. We were told to expect flu like symptoms for a day, but were both fine.

Stuffin · 06/04/2021 18:23

I had AZ and no side effects at all.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 06/04/2021 18:27

Pfizer. A 50p piece size sore patch for 24 hours. Only noticed when I rolled over in bed.

MMM2 · 06/04/2021 18:28

AZ vaccine, not even a sore arm !!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 06/04/2021 18:31

Oh, 47 members of staff at work had it done on the same day - only 2 were ill enough to have the next day off, and they are the two usual sicknotes. No one was surprised.

MrsKeats · 06/04/2021 18:32

I felt a bit tired and had an achy arm for a few hours.
You should be more worried about the virus than the vaccine.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/04/2021 18:32

I’ve had both mine, no problems whatsoever.

AlwaysColdHands · 06/04/2021 18:37

Had AZ ten days ago, dead arm for a day or so, absolutely nothing else 😊 (female, age 40)

seepingweeping · 06/04/2021 18:38

My husband had a sore arm for a day or 2 but was fine otherwise.

XenoBitch · 06/04/2021 18:40

Both my parents (60s) had no side effects at all. They both had the AZ vaccine.

cataclysmiclife · 06/04/2021 18:41

I felt great after mine! bit of a sore arm but other than that I was fine. Relieved to be honest

Maraudery · 06/04/2021 18:41

Pfizer here

Mild sore arm the first time, ( but not enough to cause any bother) and absolutely zero for number 2 other than feeling thirsty!

I meet some covid risk factors but generally okay health wise

bigbluebus · 06/04/2021 18:45

I had AZ 3 weeks ago. DH had Pfizer in January. Neither of us had more than slight tenderness at the injection site.

tinytemper66 · 06/04/2021 18:46

I had no reaction at all. The needle going in was painful and that was that.

RedPandaMama · 06/04/2021 18:46

I had Pfizer, no side effects at all for me except an achy arm for 2 days.

Myshinynewname · 06/04/2021 18:51

AZ - I had an achey arm and felt tired a bit earlier than usual that night. Completely fine by the following morning.

LBB2020 · 06/04/2021 18:57

AZ and was fine! A bit of a headache the following day (but that could be because I have a toddler and 6 month old Grin)

KatherineOfGaunt · 06/04/2021 18:58

My DH had the AZ jab and absolutely no side effects, now 10 days later.

tinytemper66 · 06/04/2021 18:58

@tinytemper66

I had no reaction at all. The needle going in was painful and that was that.
Sorry should have added I had the AstraZeneca vaccine. First dose last month, awaiting the 2nd.
ComDummings · 06/04/2021 19:00

AZ and I was pretty fine. Achy arm for a good few days but that was the ‘worst’ of it. The evening I had it I had shivers for a few hours and felt very tired. No fever or anything like that. I’m prone to migraines so was worried about headaches but nothing! Very happy with that.
