On a busy street yes.

Most don't which seems odd to me.

Quiet roads I take it off.

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 28/12/2020 16:47

I don’t remember anything about wearing a mask outside, no.

MajesticWhine · 28/12/2020 16:47

No

Elouera · 28/12/2020 16:48

Just going into and out of a shop- yes
If its very crowded on the street, narrow pathways with others- yes
If it quiet and no one around, walking in a park or other open area- no

Elouera · 28/12/2020 16:48

Some Euopean countries have it mandated to wear them outside, but not in England.

megletthesecond · 28/12/2020 16:48

When it's busy near town, yes.

Around my housing estate and parks, no.

MistletoeandGin · 28/12/2020 16:49

No. But then I don’t go anywhere busy.

SpiderGwen · 28/12/2020 16:49

No, or I'd likely walk into things. My glasses steam up too easily.

Vitaminsss · 28/12/2020 16:49

Only if I’m walking from shop to shop.

DrunkenKoala · 28/12/2020 16:49

Just when it’s busy.

I’m also tier 4 and haven’t heard about HAVING to wear them outside.

KitKatastrophe · 28/12/2020 16:51

No. I have once or twice when going from one shop to another, but otherwise no. It's not in the rules for tier 4.

itsgettingweird · 28/12/2020 16:51

Going for a walk somewhere quiet - no.

Going to supermarket I wear it as I get out car until I'm back at car. That's because you may pass by someone closely in car park or getting trolley. I avoid people but they don't always reciprocate the favour and I feel safer.

When we were T2 before Christmas I wore one at all times when in town.

PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2020 16:52

No.
It’s not necessary either by scientific evidence or by law.

FAQs · 28/12/2020 16:52

I had to go into out local town today to visit the bank and wore mine, lots of narrow streets but actually noticed more were wearing them than not. Tier 3 area.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 28/12/2020 16:52

Only when going into another shop

Or accidentally when i forget for two minutes that i have it on...which doesn’t happen much to be honest

Topseyt · 28/12/2020 16:53

No. I don't wear a mask on the street or anywhere outside. Just in shops, pubs and restaurants (until seated at the table) and on the odd occasion I have to use public transport.

I hate masks and find it very difficult to breathe through them for long periods. I can't wait to whip it off when I leave a shop.

Imiss2019 · 28/12/2020 16:53

I only if in town shopping (which I’m not likely to be doing anytime soon) or if I’m likely to need a mask in more than one place to save taking it off and on again

Out walking with the dog? No.

Oly4 · 28/12/2020 16:53

No, and not necessary in tier 4. You’re highly highly unlikely to catch coronavirus from walking past people in the open fresh air

gannett · 28/12/2020 16:54

Sometimes, but more because it keeps my nose warm than for covid reasons.

Topseyt · 28/12/2020 16:55

I should have added that we have just gone into tier 4. Masks not required in the street, and I hope it remains that way.

AcornsVsBcorns · 28/12/2020 16:55

No - but I am never in a busy street. Any streets I walk on typically have just me or me and another person on them.

If I come across anyone, I create a distance of more than 2m.

BiggerTallerFaster · 28/12/2020 16:56

I only wear them in places where I have to, but I'm not in any busy outdoor areas. I haven't been shopping, apart from the supermarket since this all started

Strugglingtodomybest · 28/12/2020 16:57

No

FallenSky · 28/12/2020 16:57

If I'm going to the shops or somewhere else that requires them then I put it on before I leave the house and keep it on the whole time. Mainly because it takes so long to get it in the perfect position so my glasses don't steam up. Going for a walk or somewhere that I won't be close to people then no, but always have one with me just in case.

Thefeep · 28/12/2020 17:00

No definitely not. It’s bad enough wearing them inside let alone outside .
