@thebearschairs

On a busy street yes.

Most don't which seems odd to me.

Quiet roads I take it off.

Exactly this.

I Don't see the point in going in a shop, pitting it on coming out taking it off next shop pit it on come out take it off x10.

I've watched do this all the way up the high street.
WHY?

LaBellina · 29/12/2020 06:26

I do now because it's great to protect my sensitive rosacea skin from the cold Wink

Wherediditgo · 29/12/2020 08:13

Only if I want to lip-sync to an awesome tune when I have my earphones in.

randomsabreuse · 29/12/2020 08:17

From the time I get to my first shop until I'm done shopping unless I'm in glasses in which case it's only on for shops because I can't solve the steaming.

School run I put it on at the end of our cul de sac as I am constantly holding hands with 2 yo from then on and it's a 2 hand task unless I touch the "wrong" bit of the mask...

Have never worn contact lenses more, and my eyes aren't keen.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 29/12/2020 09:14

@givemegin2021

Here is the scientific evidence for those who said there are none
Um you may want to look at that "evidence" again......I'm pretty sure we're talking about a virus here.

WHY?

Because it's uncomfortable and makes me feel claustrophobic so the less time I'm wearing the stupid thing the better.

RaspberryCoulis · 29/12/2020 09:27

Absolutely not. And I only wear one inside for the minimum time physically possible.

ShouldHaveCouldHaveWouldHave · 29/12/2020 09:48

No chance. Hate them and only wear them when I absolutely have to.
They make my nose run so bad!
Saw my neighbour the other day, alone, in his own car wearing one- madness.

userxx · 29/12/2020 09:50

Absolutely not. The second I'm out of a shop the fucker is ripped off.

Skipsurvey · 29/12/2020 09:52

if i nip into the supermarket, i wear one, and coming out my hands are normally full so i am still wearing one

Skipsurvey · 29/12/2020 09:52

and i am very guilty of wearing a surgical mask, again and again, i keep it in my pocket, as does my dh.
i did buy some lovely patterned ones but they are very claustrophobic

OP posts:
movingonup20 · 29/12/2020 09:54

No because I can't see with one on if it's cold, my glasses steam up - I'm in far more danger from lack of sight than covid. Ditto why I don't wear one when volunteer driving to medical appointments. Safety first

Boxofsaltsachets · 29/12/2020 09:58

Only if I have my hands full and I'm rushing to the bus stop, I wear it waiting for the bus so I'm not faffing trying to put it on and get my card out and manhandle the shopping, or if I forget which I do sometimes because I'm very used to wearing one due to work.

Topseyt · 29/12/2020 10:03

WHY

Because the fuckers are so uncomfortable and cause me difficulty in breathing. I won't wear one except in places where I absolutely have to, and in-between shops I want a break from it, however short. If I don't get that I won't cope with the next session if having to wear it.

Surely that isn't hard to understand!!

Bbq1 · 29/12/2020 10:06

I can't understand people wearing them in the Street. Do they really think they are going to catch covid from fleetingly passing people at a distance or 2m? Or that passers by are going to deliberately cough in their faces as they walk by? Considering we have to wear the awful masks in shops I think we would all be better breathing fresh air outside. I hate masks, struggle with them and cannot think of anything more uncomfortable or ridiculous than walking in a quiet street or area wearing one.

maureenfrombarnsley · 29/12/2020 10:24

Absolutely not. Never will.

Skipsurvey · 29/12/2020 13:59

plenty of people wearing them on the walk i just went on, mainly over the age of 60 at a guess, assume they are scared and doing what they think is right.

For everyone saying they can’t bear them, you do get used to wearing them

HesterShaw1 · 29/12/2020 14:26

No I don't. I live in a quiet rural town at the arse end of nowhere and austerity, internet shopping and Covid have shafted the high street so much, the streets are never crowded. I might possibly think differently if my local high street was Oxford Street.

PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2020 14:26

I have been wearing them for months. I have not got used to it. I still hate it.

I don’t think I’ll get used to not being able to see thanks to steamed up specs. I avoid going to places I need them unless I desperately need to.
IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 29/12/2020 14:33

But you’re only wearing them in a shop for 10mins. I know they’re a faff and a pain and this doesn’t count those who have legit breathing issues but I’ve had to wear one whenever I leave the house and struggled a lot at first but am used to it now (as are the children and elderly relatives) because we just adapt ultimately

Besides it helps keep your face warm in this weather!

PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2020 14:35

But you’re only wearing them in a shop for 10mins.

So what?
I hate the feeling of something over my mouth and nose.

Can’t you understand people aren’t the same?

AnnaForbes · 29/12/2020 14:36

No. Breathing fresh air is much healthier.

Chimeraforce · 29/12/2020 14:36

No.
