Only between shops, because it's easier to keep it on.

JamieLeesCurtains · 28/12/2020 17:33

Only because I'm CEV and there are a lot of coughing people about in my town in some streets / areas e.g. outside pharmacies.

I wouldn't if I were alone on a deserted rural pathway, no.

MassiveSalad · 28/12/2020 17:33

Bunch of twats 🤣🤣 that escalated quickly eh.

Ellmau · 28/12/2020 17:37

No, because (a) open air and (b) my glasses steam up so I can't see where I'm going/who or what I might bump into/get run over by. (This is not a problem indoors.)

BiggerTallerFaster · 28/12/2020 17:37

Viruses mutate all the time. There no special new significance to “this thing mutating”.

But there is. Viruses do mutate all the time, often to become more "contagious", which is what seems to have happened here.

I'm not panicking and am continuing with the 2m guidance, masks when necessary etc, but actually if it has mutated to become more easily passed on, we don't know if 2m is sufficient anymore or whether outdoors is the protection it once was. Something has certianly changed here in the last few weeks.

WanderingMilly · 28/12/2020 17:40

Yes, when I go into the local town. I know we don't need to but I think it's better to do so and I think we'd all be more protected if others did the same.

If I go a walk down the country lanes, when there's literally not a soul around, no, I don't wear a mask then.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/12/2020 17:41

No, because it's raining and I'm pretty sure that once they get wet they are useless.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 28/12/2020 17:43

Didn’t it just 😳
WildRunner · 28/12/2020 17:44

I don't as routine. But I do when I'm in our high street - I'm in a Tier 2 area and our town is absolutely packed at the weekends with visitors from Tiers 3 and 4. To the extent they've had to put a one way system in on the pavements which everyone ignores as much as they ignore social distancing 🤬

bengalcat · 28/12/2020 17:45

Advice as always is wear one in a shop or where social distancing is not possible .

Neron · 28/12/2020 17:46

Nope. Why would I wear a mask outside.

Skipsurvey · 28/12/2020 17:48

i dont because i vape, but if people start crowding outside the chippy as they do i might wear one in future.
plus i was thinking today they stop your nose from running.

NotImpossible · 28/12/2020 17:53

No. I might if I was in a town or on a busy street but I rarely am.

Dizzy1234 · 28/12/2020 17:53

Yep, received a text with a link from GP on how the virus spreads so now I wear a mask in the street

NotImpossible · 28/12/2020 17:54

I always feel as if my nose is running under a mask! It never is.
Shelby30 · 28/12/2020 17:54

Absolutely not! Bad enough having to wear them in shops I rip it off as soon as I get out even sometimes going between shops.

BackforGood · 28/12/2020 17:56

No, unless I stopped to have a chat with someone I knew, and was going to be standing still, talking to someone for some time.

Melange99 · 28/12/2020 18:03

No, there is no requirement to wear one outside whatever tier you are in.

I sometimes keep it on from shop to shop for speed. I want to do my shopping and go so putting it on and off slows me down.

All my other outings are in outside space, or streets where you can distance. So no need.

I want to breath fresh air, not cover up where there is nobody around me.

allthewaterinthetap · 28/12/2020 18:03

Yes, it's mandated in my country. It was hard initially, but we're all quite used to it now.

GawdrestyeJerryMentlemen · 28/12/2020 18:03

The mutations in the virus make it more transmissible. This means it transmits more easily. For me that means I will take as many precautions as I can.

WeatherwaxOn · 28/12/2020 18:03

If I'm on a busy street or going from one shop to another yes. Otherwise no. I'm not sure what is going to happen in the open air if I'm nowhere near anyone.

DeadButDelicious · 28/12/2020 18:08

I wear a mask when I'm going into a shop or dropping DD off at nursery, if the street is quiet and I can maintain a good distance I take it off, if not I would keep it on.

If I were going to the town centre or on public transport I would keep it on the whole time.

Twickerhun · 28/12/2020 18:09

Yes viruses mutate. It’s what they do. And usually they become more contagious but critically almost always less deadly

TempsPerdu · 28/12/2020 18:12

No, and I won’t unless it’s officially mandated.

Twickerhun · 28/12/2020 18:16

And no I don’t wear masks outside. I wear glasses and struggle badly to see at times so like others I’d walk into street furniture/people/roads/canals
