Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys

Hello! Tested positive this morning. Totally lost all taste and smell and feel very wiped out but ok other than that!

Please can I join I'm awaiting a result 🙈

@FlyLight I also tested positive this morning and feel like im full of flu with the back pain of a chest infection and kidney infection/back period pain. Such fun!

Feels like a kidney infection/back period pain that should say

i tested positive a week ago and there’s no sign of things getting better. my whole body hurts, i’m burning hot yet shaking, i feel constantly sick and dizzy, i’m exhausted, i can barely catch my breath in between coughing. i also have the pain like i have a kidney infection. both my boyfriend and 13 year old had it but seem to be over the worst. luckily my 3 younger kids haven’t caught it.

I tested positive 7 days ago. First day I felt awful aching bones, headache, metallic taste in mouth and felt generally weak witn no energy. Symptoms only lasted a day and now I feel okay, apart from the odd tired feeling. I have 3 days left and if I feel
Ok and return to work.

Tested positive from a random test done at work on Saturday. Turns out what I thought was a hormonal headache was actually Covid. Had no other symptoms. Since the T&T have marked it from onset of headache. I'm allowed out in 3 days instead of 8 as I originally thought. Phew!

Work don't want me back till 10 days post test unfortunately. But being able to leave the house will be wonderful! It's only been two days and I'm going nuts!

I tested positive on 22/10, Dh positive on 24/10.
Mostly mild symptoms here. Feeling very lucky! Just more tired than usual and lost my sense of smell. Dh had a brief temperature, no other symptoms at all.
DC both been ok no symptoms.

I've also had really cracked painful lips dontnkniw ifbits related and (TMI) but my period was almost 3 weeks late and even then lasted 3 days and was just bloody cm not even a proper bleed, im not pregnant as done a magnitude of different tests all negatuve so dunno if that's related either

I've had a night cough for a few days and have what feels like a kidney infection.. this thread has made me think !

It's interesting that people are testing positive without the traditional Covid symptoms. I'd have never been tested for just a headache, and would have been merrily spreading it around.

Can I join too? I was tested this morning after being told a close contact ha tested positive. I have felt tired, scratchy throat, achey, temp 37.6 and altered sense of taste. so symptoms are mild but enough to make me wonder....

@lostinthoughts mine started with feeling tired and just really strange, then I had scratchy throat and headache, throat has now turned into a bad throat, I'm off food haven't eaten for 2 days and then I had a temp! I'm awaiting results. I haven't had a bad throat for 12yrs since I had my tonsils out so it's the throat making me think maybe it is covid. X

I'm waiting for my results. Felt a bit off over the weekend, had an intermittent cough on Sunday, woke up with a scratchy sore throat yesterday and increased coughing. Temperature of 37, but my normal temperature is 35.6, so raised for me. Went for a test yesterday and woke up this morning with much more coughing and intermittent loss of smell and taste! All of which I would normally have attributed to cold but have got tested, just in case! Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

My H tested positive after a work place test. He has NO symptoms to the point I wonder if they have it muddled.
Either way we are all isolating. Unfortunately we have seen a few people (within the rules) so have let them know.

I’m 10 days in and feeling much better. The lethargy and headaches have eased. Oddly my blocked nose is still a daily occurrence which I’ve had since the start. I’ve more of a cough now than I have all the way thorough! My taste and smell is still zero

I was very surprised that I had to manually input all the places I've been to track and trace. I thought that was what we scanned bar codes for.

I'm just wondering what my health is going to be like once I recover and if ill have long covid or not (I really hope not)

Hi I tested positive this morning
My symptoms started a week ago
Ear ache, head ache feeling a bit run down
Mild cough like needing to clear my throat
Do feel a bit more breathless now but I have been keep an eye on my oxygen levels and they have been ok

My result had come back negative, so just a cold for me. Feel shocking tho!

@hannahwex can I ask how you're keeping an eye on your oxygen?

My symptoms started on the evening of 19th and I (eventually) received my positive test result on Sunday.

Today is the first day where I feel ok. I’ve been awake for a whole 3 hours, I’ve eaten a sandwich and I’m drinking a normal amount now. I can talk again too which is a relief! I genuinely thought I was going to die at points, so I’m very glad to be feeling better.

I’m very confused though because my husband got his positive result this morning. He caught it off me but now Test & Trace are saying I need to isolate for another 14 days. Surely I don’t need to re-isolate when I’m the one who started it?
