Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

Just with a sats machine not sure if oxygen levels is the correct term, I have just been making sure my levels are above 94, 98 is normal level for me

ContemplatingLife435 · 29/10/2020 19:06

I've just realised my phone has an oximeter on it so I can check my oxygen that way

I tested positive on Monday but am on day 15 since symptoms started.

Anyone else just absolutely and completely exhausted ?

I've zero smell, slightly breathless and some headaches.

All the initial cold symptoms have gone now

givemejellytots · 30/10/2020 09:05

Positive test result this morning.
I had horrendous stomach pains as my first symptom on Tuesday, followed by headache on Wednesday and mild cough so got tested. Felt fine yesterday but woke in the early hours this morning feeling achy all over and cough slightly worse. I feel quite tired and have now lost sense of taste. No temperature at any time though. Really hoping this doesn’t get worse!

cherrytreeblossom · 30/10/2020 09:07

Morning all - how is everyone doing today ?

CottonSock · 30/10/2020 09:10

I had a test yesterday. Awful cold so felt a bit of a fraud booking it. But close neighbour / friends have tested positive and felt like it was a cold too for them. Tested my daughter as been off all week and keeps saying she can taste blood. Problem is I am pretty sure I mucked up the test. Did everyone else administrator it themselves?

ContemplatingLife435 · 30/10/2020 11:09

@CottonSock I self tested at the druve in centre was convinced I hadn't went far enough to the back of bose or swabbed throat ling enough but I must ha e for it to come back positive

@ContemplatingLife435 thanks, good to know. It strangely upset me afterwards that I was just an incompetent wimp. If I knew I had to do it myself I would have prepared better. My 7yo was very brave (dh did it who is a medic, but he didn't come with me).

DustyLoafer · 30/10/2020 12:06

Tested positive today. Full on head cold for a week and kidney pain.
I got tested after someone else tested positive with back pain.

I was sure it was just a rotten cold.
I'm on around day 8. Nose no longer blocked. Still sneezing like mad. No taste, lethargic, back twinges.

More concerned that my little dog might catch it off me.
Anybody else still cuddling their pets?

walksen · 30/10/2020 16:48

Tested positive on Saturday after total loss of smell and most taste. Prior to that just thought I had a cold and was run down as had runny nose and very slight sore throat. So far has seemed pretty mild

Now have a weird feeling of burning in the chest and face albeit oxygen levels and temperature is normal. Then again I've read that end of the first week is when things can get worse and a few colleagues who had it recently said they felt worst on day 7 and 8 but trying not to worry too much.

CanThisBeOverSoon · 01/11/2020 16:03

How is everyone?
I'm on day 12 and feeling very dizzy and lightheaded with back pain. I thought I was getting better until today.

walksen · 01/11/2020 16:16

"I'm on day 12 and feeling very dizzy and lightheaded with back pain. I thought I was getting better until today"

Sorry to hear that. I'm on day 9 and feel ok but that's the thing with this virus; it seems so unpredictable and random.

yearinyearout · 01/11/2020 16:19

Just out of interest whereabouts in the back would you feel pain from a kidney infection? I had a headache the other day as well as pain in my back about halfway down on the right...is that a bit too high?

It's ridiculous, I'm thinking every bloody ache and pain could be covid these days!

ScottishDream · 01/11/2020 16:29

Waiting for test results here. Started on Friday with a headache and dry cough. Today I’ve still got a headache, some shivers (temp up to 37.7 this morning) and sore throat. Cough has been slightly chesty and I’ve also got an aching back/neck/shoulders, plus dizziness and malaise.

I’m mostly sure it will be negative and It’s just a cold, as I think I had covid back in March, and I certainly had pneumonia then after two weeks of hideous symptoms. But as I wasn’t tested then I’m isolating now. Fun times.

DustyLoafer · 01/11/2020 17:13

Has anyone got shin pain? In my left leg it's irritating. I'm still tired and sound like I've got a cold. Bloodshot slightly in my left eye. Around day 10, back pain gone.

Dustballs · 01/11/2020 17:25

Those that say they have blocked noses ... are they blocked with catarrh?

I've got lots of the symptoms you describe, but none of those we are supposed to be tested for. It's felt like a heavy cold that's been going for nearly 2 weeks now. And now I've got bright yellow cattarh. Is this something any of you have had?

SheilaTakeABow · 01/11/2020 17:32

I'm in! Friday night had intermittent, thickly cough, Saturday woke up with horrendous headache and just felt achey. Booked a test (lied and said I had a temp) as someone I know said a headache was their main symptom.
Positive result this morning, now feeling pretty rough but not sure if that's psychological. Funny smell in nose, tight chest, very occasional mildly clammy cough.
Terrified as I have asthma, which has been less well-controlled this year than ever before Sad

DustyLoafer · 01/11/2020 17:50

No, mine was a tickly cough which was only the first couple of nights. Then a full on head cold with blocked nose and sneezing like mad. I only went for a test because of the kidney pains.
3sthenew2 · 01/11/2020 20:39

Really interesting reading this. I was tested positive on Friday after my partner had bad fever Tuesday night & I had joint pain, back ache, stomach cramps & a bad headache. Day 5 now & we feel like we’re over the worst. I never had the cough or fever, but lost all sense of smell & taste. My kids started with symptoms yesterday, the 6 year old has slight raised temp & tummy cramps. My 6 month old has had high temp as soon as calpol wears off, sore eyes, crying & snuffly. I’m considering calling 111 but she’s breastfeeding normally & has lots of wet nappies.

Casablanca78 · 01/11/2020 22:04

I took my test 24/10 and got my positive result 26/10. Symptoms are mild. Slight cough, definitely not persistent and generally feeling quite tired but that's eased over last couple of days.
A couple of questions if anyone can help please. When I put my test code in the T&T app it says I have to isolate until 23.59 on 4/11. How is that? I thought it was 10 days from symptoms (which I stated started 23/10). I tested the next day.
Also a weird one, my period is now 12 days late. I'm usually regular to the day! Very unlikely to be pregnant but I've taken two tests anyway (a week ago), both negative. Anyone else had Covid mess with their cycle?
Thanks

Casablanca78 · 01/11/2020 22:06

@ContemplatingLife435 just seen you've said the same about your period. Interesting.

ScottishDream · 02/11/2020 06:42

My test has just come back positive.

I’m sure I had something very similar to this in the spring, but much worse then, when tests weren’t available. Today I’ve a splitting headache, aching upper back, but otherwise feel much better than I did the last couple of days. Very slight grainy sore throat.
Two more weeks of holiday for the children... they are going to be thrilled.

ladyandthechocolate · 02/11/2020 06:48

@NoBloodyHolly @PositivelyConfused23
That is incorrect advice. Once you have completed your 10 days you do not have to extend it. I work for T&T fyi and we have recently had some newer team members on board who may be less experienced.

ScottishDream · 02/11/2020 08:00

Does anyone have an incredibly achey upper back? Across the top of both shoulder blades. That and the the headache are my worst symptom by far.
