The two ENT Consultants who are in ITU are also in the Midlands.

rough translation: keep 1.5m distance when out and about. and stay home if you have any cold symptoms.
Number12 · 22/03/2020 12:55
Thanks for new thread. I don't think Dominic Cummings actully did say that it was a summarisation from a reporter. Do you really think he is stupid enough to say that out loud?!
Skittlesss · 22/03/2020 12:57
Just driven over to my PILs to take food and supplies (doorstep drop) as they’re isolating as high risk. The roads are busy with cars, lots of people out walking and gathering in groups for a chat. People not taking this seriously at all.
bananacakeZ · 22/03/2020 13:02
I am STILL trying to convince my almost retired parents both high risk to self isolate
'but I have to go shopping every day, we need fresh stuff'
NO YOU DO NOT!!!
Number12 · 22/03/2020 13:08
Banana, I hear you my mum and grandad are both going to the shops, garden centres, shops. I have explained until I am blue in the face. My mum just doesn't care about anyone but herself and my granddad can't bear the idea of being locked indoors, he HAS to go out and he doesn't really care if he does die though has admitted he is scared! Both have underlying health issues. I just don't understand it.
Is it a psychological thing where by people can't cope with reality so they pretend its not real? Head in sand...
yoloPenguinsEatfish · 22/03/2020 13:16
PMK. Self-isolation is difficult, I dont think we realise what social creatures we are until we have to not be social.
AvocadoOwl · 22/03/2020 13:16
There doesn't seem to be much rumour building around potential new measures to be introduced at today's briefing. I sincerely hope that doesn't mean there aren't going to be any
Givemeabreakpls · 22/03/2020 13:20
Guardian on their live blog are saying 53 deaths...that’s yesterday’s figures isn’t it? It’s not clear. Have today’s cases been announced?
SunshineCake · 22/03/2020 13:22
I assume 5ish.
I'm only on day four of official self isolating and feel awful as well as exhausted and unmotivated.
Elephantgrey · 22/03/2020 13:23
I am feeling better today. The night before last I had pains in my chest and was struggling to breathe. I think it was just panic.
My mum brought me 2 packs of nappies. I am really grateful but feel guilty that she went to Aldi to get them for me when she is so high risk.
That is such sad news about that nurse. I hope she recovers.
cjt110 · 22/03/2020 13:23
Spent a lovely day building a space rocket with my son using cardboard, sellotape and an old milk bottle. Then 20 mins outside for some fresh air.
Had a major panic attack earlier.
Just want my husband home. He’s stuck working whilst dickheads still merrily go around wanting dash cams fitted or a car air freshener...
Newbeginnings2 · 22/03/2020 13:24
It’s all caught up with me a bit today, DD came down with a cold yesterday and is coughing a bit and I’ve woken up with the same this morning. Already isolating and wfh anyway but DD has SN and is non verbal and I just feel so lonely already, ex partner, DD dad is not going to see her for 2 weeks when he usually has her about twice a week for me to have a break and the though of having to isolate now for another 2 weeks on our own is just too much, I know it’s not likely to end in 2 weeks either 😔

@Janemarpling Me too! I don’t have kids but am going to make one myself.
BeyondMymymymyCorona · 22/03/2020 13:48
My DS pointed something out to me earlier - in this house there are four of us - me, DP and both DCs. We were all born in the one hospital, as was their dad. There have been the same amount of deaths from CV this week, in that same hospital.
