Correct me if I'm wrong but if we are +600 ish and Scotland alone is up +400ish that means 200 cases combined in England wales and NI? Seems much lower than expected. Am I reading this right? X

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:15

He's not Nicola Sturgeon, is he.

Number12 · 22/03/2020 17:15

Fuckity fuck. Nothing.

DivisionBelles · 22/03/2020 17:16

Well that was a bit lacklustre to say the least.

CrunchyCarrot · 22/03/2020 17:16

All I hear when Boris is speaking is 'Woff, woff, woff, waffle'.

BarbedBloom · 22/03/2020 17:16

Great, nothing again.

TheBenefitsPeople · 22/03/2020 17:17

I thought the high risk people self-isolated last week?!

Rocketmam · 22/03/2020 17:18

With scotland being up 400+ alone those UK figures do not seem right at all...

waspfig · 22/03/2020 17:20

Council will provide food and supplies to those who have no family/friends able to help. Military will support.

EducatingArti · 22/03/2020 17:21

I think numbers of cases and deaths are always a bit lower at the weekend as I suspect the rate of testing being done is not as much. I hope I am wrong though.

GingerLemonTea · 22/03/2020 17:21

USA has 8594 new cases Shock

waspfig · 22/03/2020 17:21

Caters, formal and informal can continue to visit as long as they respect social distancing measures.

Alladdsup · 22/03/2020 17:21

Woodencoffeetable where can I find that graphic? Sorry, I don't know how to tag people, but that would actually help me to explain why social distancing is important to certain "head in sand" types!

LiveintheNow · 22/03/2020 17:22

416 is total number of cases in Scotland.

RedToothBrush · 22/03/2020 17:23

DH thinks the most vulnerable started to act earlier than in Italy and awareness of the virus might be helping already - eg wash your hands

Too early to say things are definitely headed the right direction here. Need a few more days of data, but that's one day where numbers are better than we feared they could be.

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:24

What answer was that about the courts?

Are juries still taking place?

WwfLeopard · 22/03/2020 17:25

Bojo looks sweaty n Ill again

starrysimon · 22/03/2020 17:25

Hopefully someone can help me on here with 2 questions! For my DH and FIL who aren’t taking the government advice seriously.

Should self employed labourers doing jobs such as non emergency repairs and decorating still be going to work?

Is someone who has received chemotherapy/radiotherapy in the past 12 months for a high stage of cancer (now in remission) classed as vulnerable? This person is mid 60s and is also a heavy smoker and drinker (always has been).

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:25

He knows that people don't act responsibly.

BarbedBloom · 22/03/2020 17:27

Screams into the void...

DMJ6789 · 22/03/2020 17:28

651 deaths in Italy today. Not as high as yesterday but all the same. 5500 now. Jesus this is horrendous. Hopefully it will turn as the lockdown takes effect. Poor souls

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:30

Jesus

waspfig · 22/03/2020 17:30

Boris:
Keeping parks and playgrounds open outweigh the epidemiological benefit of closing them. If people can't keep children 2m away from each other of course we will have to look at closing them.

mrshoho · 22/03/2020 17:31

He is misleading us though because the shitstorm is coming anyway following the trajectory of Italy and Spain. We've not taken these measures earlier than they did? So he can't blame it on people not listening.
