Just that really. I understand theirs a lot of suggesting going on but will they officially make people stay in or take responsibility?

I am sorry @Tonyaster but there are still too many people thinking they will be just fine, so they don't need to change their behaviour. I think information is always a good thing to make the right decisions, and I think there is a lot of myth out there. I don't want a lockdown, but I can see this might be the only way.

hbock · 18/03/2020 19:46

If going like the Chinese pretending in the beginning that it did not exist instead admitting it while it is now a general world problem as the virus have no boarder , feel only option is like many countries a complete lock down. Such decision is not a cheap and require Government's full support as no individual or company can support such confinement

Oakmaiden · 18/03/2020 19:51

@Bearlover16 Or potentially to assist with one of the many other things that need to be done.

Not saying it is definitely wrong to say a lockdown is imminent, just that the army moving around isn't certain evidence.

Tonyaster · 18/03/2020 19:54

Lockdown in London next week

AnuvvaMuvva · 18/03/2020 19:55

That army photo is the most apocalyptic-movie-cliche yet. I'm getting genuinely scared now. I've seen how this ends!

0blio · 18/03/2020 19:55

What would happen if you're visiting or working somewhere, staying in a hotel and lockdown is announced? Do you have a chance to travel home, does anyone know?

Sorry if these are silly questions but this is making me very anxious indeed.

Fradishes · 18/03/2020 19:55

@Bearlover16 Um they are driving on the right though?

Roselilly36 · 18/03/2020 19:56

Monday latest, at a guess. London is suffering badly, that will need to be brought under control asp.

@Bearlover16 behave yourself, these are clearly not in the UK. Stop fear mongering.

Bearlover16 · 18/03/2020 20:06

These are actual pictures that have been sent to me. I trust their authenticity 100%. You will realise this on Friday.

Fradishes · 18/03/2020 20:08

@Bearlover Oh really, you trust their authenticity do you? 2 days ago they were posted on a Russian site claiming to be images of French tanks shutting the Shengen border.

narodna-pravda.ua/ru/2020/03/16/my-na-vojne-frantsyya-vvodyt-transportnuyu-blokadu-y-zakryvaet-shengen/

Fradishes · 18/03/2020 20:08

Sorry Ukrainian site.

Oakmaiden · 18/03/2020 20:09

Tanks being moved on lorries on the motorways.

They aren't tanks. They are probably APCs.

thebogrollqueen · 18/03/2020 20:10

After seeing the lack of social distancing myself , I agree the government asked nicely and people are NOT doing it!

Its time to get tough. A week or 2 ago I read in a local paper about army vehicles being moved and I did wonder about that even then tbh......
So I wouldn`t be surprised if something is in the offing.

Oakmaiden · 18/03/2020 20:10

OK- - the third one is a tank. But one tank does not a lockdown make. They often move tanks around.

Bearlover16 · 18/03/2020 20:12

The 3rd one is a screen shot from a video of a long convoy of tanks on the motorway. I just couldn't upload the video.

Rowan8 · 18/03/2020 20:13

Yup, I call Friday or the weekend...

Bearlover16 · 18/03/2020 20:13

And there will be a lockdown by Friday.

TwelveIslands · 18/03/2020 20:15
  1. UK will go into lockdown sooner rather than later
  1. Army vehicles are on roads all over the country quite frequently, it doesn't mean we're heading for martial law.
Raindropsandspaceships · 18/03/2020 20:20

Friday.

Oscarsdaddy · 18/03/2020 20:24

@Windyone

I think we are all guessing but given recent lockdowns in Italy, Spain & France I think it’s inevitable
