Who is doing what?

I wish I could work from home, but I can't, and am worried about commuting.

Both my dh and I work in retail, we will be going to work until the shops shut. I'm expecting a couple of weeks?

We can't work from home Sad

MrsMGE · 15/03/2020 10:55

I could easily work from home and my team could too, but the CEO is religiously following the Govt guidance and not a step further. Lack of common sense is rile.

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/03/2020 10:56

I work for the nhs and so does my husband , we cannot work from home either (husband is a nurse).

Merryoldgoat · 15/03/2020 10:56

My youngest and I are SI but older son and DH have no symptoms. Not sure of the best way to go.

Frankly all 4 of us home will be hell 😬

Windyatthebeach · 15/03/2020 10:59

I am a cleaner. None of my customers have cancelled as yet. Maybe they have even higher expectations of me now (?)..
Dc will be still attending school.
Dh is a sahp.
Ddogs need walking and we are hopefully getting a big shop tomorrow...
If there is anything left to buy..

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/03/2020 10:59

I hope the tube will be less busy.

DP and I will be going to work as usual, DD will be in childcare- no option for us to WFH and it is extremely unlikely our offices will close. He commutes into central London. If I have to self isolate it will go towards absence triggers.

PinkBuffalo · 15/03/2020 11:01

I am going to work and gym in the evening after as normal.
I live alone and am fine
I have the rest of the week booked off work, but that was way before all this kicked off and I cannot change it now!

TotesGodsWill · 15/03/2020 11:01

Have to go in until official guidance or company policy changes as can’t currently work from home.

Particularly anxious about the journey to and from work on public transport (no other option).

Xiaoxiong · 15/03/2020 11:01

DH will have to work until his school is closed or he develops a cough or fever. My office closed completely on Friday so we are all WFH now. We were in the middle of choosing a date to do a trial day where we would close the office but just decided to do it for real and lock the doors. Friday was a bit emotional, everyone taking everything home, a real feeling of wondering when we will all be together again.

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/03/2020 11:02

Going into work as usual, I could do most of my job from home if need be but we won’t shut until told to. I’m fine with this at the moment.

7thlevelofthecandycaneforest · 15/03/2020 11:02

I am on a training course and so have to travel halfway across the country on public transport to then sit in a room with loads of people for a week. Hoping they cancel it...

homemadecommunistrussia · 15/03/2020 11:03

Everyone carrying on as usual, dh will probably work from home soon. ds is at uni, but we expect him home soonish. Work have said we will keep open as long as we have enough staff.

Treaclepie19 · 15/03/2020 11:03

My husband is in work tomorrow though his work have said to wfh tuesday as a test.
I'm a SAHM.
4yo will be going to school.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 15/03/2020 11:05

Off to work via train and tube. I can work from home, with a few operational adjustments, but I think it’ll be another week before we are given that directive. Kids will be in school/childcare.

duckduckdog · 15/03/2020 11:05

Off to work as usual Sad

Namelesswonder · 15/03/2020 11:05

Work, DC will go to school

MinkowskisButterfly · 15/03/2020 11:06

We are isolating until Saturday (me and children) husband is off work for two days but then back at work on wed.

AesopsMables · 15/03/2020 11:08

Both DH and I can WFH and will be doing so for the foreseeable
Did my last tube journey on Tuesday and it was hideously busy

angelcakebananabrain · 15/03/2020 11:08

I’m in work tomorrow but they’ve just gotten everyone set up to WFH so I’m half expecting to be told at least some of the week will be trialling this. Would be a bit of a nightmare as I only have a crappy laptop and my job is made easier by having two screens, but if I have to do it I will.

vodkaredbullgirl · 15/03/2020 11:08

Working as usual, work in care home.

mamma5367 · 15/03/2020 11:09

My company is taking a very risk averse approach, office is closed, all trips and training cancelled. We're all working from home now. I've been wondering how unusual this is.

Peanutbutteryogurt · 15/03/2020 11:09

I can't work from home and work in the NHS so I'm going in until told otherwise

Yerroblemom1923 · 15/03/2020 11:09

I'm self employed. If I don't work I don't get paid. If I'm ill I can only alert my clients and how for the best. I can't work from home. Business as usual for us.

MrsDevine89 · 15/03/2020 11:09

I am going to the office. DH working from home for the forseeable. Dd going to school until told otherwise.
