Who is doing what?

I wish I could work from home, but I can't, and am worried about commuting.

We're isolating. Fortunately dh set up to wfh on Friday. His employer doesn't like it, but he has a temperature so it's tough luck.

Slat3 · 15/03/2020 11:10

I am WFH as DC in isolation due to cough/temp

Drivemybluecar · 15/03/2020 11:10

I’m a self employed house keeper. The house has five newborn puppies that need to be hand fed. If I have to go to work tomorrow it will be lovely to be there. Could be worse Grin

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/03/2020 11:11

I’ll swap with you Drive.

I work in a hospital. I’ll be there all week pretty much regardless of what happens.

Zacharyezrarawlings · 15/03/2020 11:13

I work for the NHS. Im going to be going to work for many, many hours until I am unwell or isolating.

I am at home with isolating DD. I am a teacher so will be doing preparation work and will teach through my usual non contact time later in the week.

Redinthefacegirl · 15/03/2020 11:15

Dh and I are both frontline NHS workers. We'll both be working until we inevitably get it. Probably without much PPE as it's running low already.

Unless you get symptoms, presumably.

Hotwaterbottlelove · 15/03/2020 11:16

I have a cough which has triggered asthma. I'll be working from when I feel well enough and on sick leave when not.

Have no plans to interact with anyone other than my husband. He has no current symptoms.

However, in order to get home today I have a 20 minute train ride. Doing my best to stay well away from other passengers (currently sitting on the cold platform rather than inside the waiting room) and won't sit near anyone on the train.

We have no loo roll but we have a food delivery box arriving Wednesday. Will get them to leave it on the doorstep.

Working from home, that's what my FTSE100 employer has instructed us to do (with the exception of some teams who have to be in office locations but they're splitting those teams across different sites). Basically on Friday they initiated some aspects of their disaster recovery plans.

DH will be going to work normally as front line NHS staff. Makes me feel worried.

adaline · 15/03/2020 11:16

Work as usual. DH and I are both self-employed and will be working unless we have symptoms or the government put measures in place to put the country on lockdown.

Corneliawildthing · 15/03/2020 11:16

I'm a teacher so will going to work as normal until told otherwise. I have no symptoms of anything so no need to stay at home.

Dibdabdobdop · 15/03/2020 11:16

Work in retail so can't WFH. Want to self isolate as I've started showing symptoms but have been told by work that I have to go in. Feel nervous.

Onmyown1 · 15/03/2020 11:17

I’ll be working at home from tomorrow for the foreseeable future. We were told Friday afternoon anyone who can work from home has to starting from Monday.

Grasspigeons · 15/03/2020 11:17

DH working from home. Kids and i going to school. Mum self isolating. Live in same snall village so we will drop things off and talk to her through windows

CochonDinde · 15/03/2020 11:17

We've been mandated to work from home

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/03/2020 11:17

Going to work as usual.

Don’t have school age dc anymore thankfully so not having to worry about when the school closures will come, but I am worrying about my 3 dses a,l away at university. Unsure whether they’re universities will close, whether they’ll come home if they do, whether they’ll now have no uni until at least September, whether I have enough food to feed everyone if supplies get really low, or enough loo rolls to keep everyone with home comforts. Am assuming they will be able to get home if there is a lockdown, they are all quite a distance away.

@Lweji posted this link, and I am going to post it everywhere.

The moderate distancing is 1 in 4 still moving about. The extreme is only 1 in 8 moving.

IllustriousToad · 15/03/2020 11:17

I'm going in although I really don't want to as I'm very high risk. Worried about commute and working in a large open plan office where germs always seem to fly around! Company won't allow to wfh until govt guidance changes, even though my job could easily be done from home and I'm all set up for it!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/03/2020 11:18

That’s very unreasonable of them.

I’m a nurse working with older people so I have to go in. Doing everything I can to stay healthy and keeping everything crossed the patients stay healthy and safe.

croon979 · 15/03/2020 11:19

WFH for me

AnneJeanne · 15/03/2020 11:20

WFH and social distancing, but I’m Fortunate to be able to do so.
