Whatever you think about Hamas - October 7th was an abomination - but surely it's been enough for some time now?

UK suspends Israel trade talks and summons ambassador over 'intolerable' Gaza offensive

Foreign Secretary David Lammy says Israel's war in Gaza is entering a "dark new phase".

Have they released all the hostages yet?

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/05/2025 16:59

Too little too late tbh, never been a fan of Lammy either.

But at least someone is saying something, I suppose. Now that the genocide is significantly closer to completion.

What a cruel world we live in. Just so sad.

Do any of the starving children know where they are?

Have they released all the hostages yet?

55,000 people are dead. ENOUGH!

yummyscummymummy01 · 20/05/2025 17:21

It's been enough for a long time.

I'm surprised anybody would defend it at this point. I honestly can't get my head round someone looking at the suffering there and think it's OK.

Fluffyholeysocks · 20/05/2025 17:34

To be honest I don't have much time for the man, he certainly isn't a foreign Secretary I can admire. Do I agree with him on this? yes, but he's no great Statesman on the world stage.

I'm not sure all the amputee children and the orphans are responsible for doing that....

JustGoClickLikeALightSwitch · 20/05/2025 17:39

I don’t think the UK gov’t actually gives a fuck. They are making a statement because they want to be seen to be making a statement.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/05/2025 17:41

Lammys the guy in your office who loudly takes a stand against the office pervert, after he's been fired 🙄🙄

Ablondiebutagoody · 20/05/2025 17:41

I think it's embarrassing to threaten Israel when he's got fuck all leverage.

Sadly I agree, for them it's all about optics now. They've looked the other way for far too long.

Neither do most of the population , only the fanatical marchers .

yummyscummymummy01 · 20/05/2025 17:54

Better late than never and better something than nothing. I hope it's the beginning of the steps they'll take against Israel.

I think that ship sailed a long time ago.

Have a look on the ME board. You’ll be surprised how many posters still defend what’s happening and claim it’s just what happens in “war”.

Beryls · 20/05/2025 16:21

Have they released all the hostages yet?

Even if they did, Israel probably wouldn't stop bombing them anyway.

Beryls · 20/05/2025 16:21

Have they released all the hostages yet?

No, they haven't as you well know.

But Israel has certainly exacted revenge in the meantime.

As for Lammy - better late than never.

MiloMinderbinder925 · 20/05/2025 18:42

Are the government still selling arms to these maniacs? If so, it's just words.

Totally agree. I'm just hoping this is the start of further steps.

TheNaturalBronde · 20/05/2025 18:53

just a quick reminder to some posters

you do realise a lot of the hostages will have killed in the bombings , ? Don’t you? The bombs don’t discriminate

ConstanceM · 20/05/2025 18:53

They are about 60,000 dead bodies too late. Israeli IDF are genocidal maniacs who have massacred old women, old men, pregnant women, teens, toddlers and babies in horrific balls of fire, all whom they suggest are members of Hamas. Impossible as well as improbable. The US is the Chief supporter of genocide and history will not forgive or forget any of them. The Palestinians are the Jews of the 1930s. By the way, If you share my human sentiments the lobby will label you an "Anti-Semite", what else can they say

ChocolateGanache · 20/05/2025 17:18

That’s about 30,000 dead terrorists included in that number.

bigvig · 20/05/2025 19:02

Too little, too late. We're still selling them weapons

Well even if that were true it means the other 30,000 are women and children.

UN predict up to 14000 babies could die in the next 48 hours of starvation as there is no infant formula and their mother's are too hungry to produce milk.

Back up the OP it's too little too late but at least the tide is turning in political circles.
