New Hamas video of hostages

Muthaofcats · 22/05/2024 17:00

The new Hamas video released today of the female hostages selected as the ones they planned to get pregnant was so sickening and I wish I hadn’t seen it.

however, I am also wondering WHY it has not been more widely picked up and broadcast? I don’t understand the silence from the bleeding left; why don’t they see stuff like this and not just feel desperate and sick about those poor poor girls and their families who must be beyond devastated.

Watching the men in those videos helps to counter balance the idea of Israel as the aggressor. I wish more would see it and reflect or even just place those women of equal value to those in Gaza.

How is the world so perverse right now that this warrants a shrug from so many? Or worse, is viewed as justified !?

I agree with you Muthaofcats why is it not deemed of wider broadcast?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 22/05/2024 17:02

It’s viewed as justified, let’s call a spade a spade, their race means no one cares enough! I’m deeply saddened by how ignored this is by the masses

Shiveri · 22/05/2024 17:06

It’s truly horrific. I hope to God those girls are released/rescued.

Dulra · 22/05/2024 17:06

I have seen it reported on from most news outlets. I haven't watched it because I haven't watched any of the videos from the conflict just not able.

Who are you referring to as the bleeding left? As in who isn't reporting it that you think should be? I don't know anyone that would not be sick or devastated for those girls, no victim is deserving of that treatment and I wouldn't have any time for anyone that would think they are.

The problem is, by now they’ll be heavily pregnant, and if they survive child birth in those conditions, who knows if Hamas won’t dispose of them once the babies are born. And even if they do make it out alive, how does one ever recover from this!? And what of those poor poor babies likely torn from their mothers and bred to be the future murderers who will go on to kill their own brothers and sisters in decades to come. It’s truly biblical.

The girls in the video are even pleading with Hamas in English and yet it won’t be enough to resonate for so many in the western world. I just don’t understand it.

It is just so terrible and needs to be viewed by everyone marching against Israel. Let them see the barbarity committed by the heinous Hamas.

Can I ask whether you also don’t look at any footage about Gaza?

I am surprised you say you’ve seen it reported everywhere, can you give me an example of where you’ve seen it? The bbc headlines don’t seem to cover it, the only one I see today is about Ireland, Spain, Norway (which appears to be confirming that Hamas tactics were effective!?)

I do wonder if those marching would feel the same after watching the footage.

Surely if barbaric videos changed people's opinions there would be no pro Israeli posters left .

However it is a Horrific video I fully condemn those responsible for the torture the women are going through.

Not one, I'm not on twitter etc so just what comes on the BBC/C4/ Irish news channels.

I've seen the story on news apps BBC C4 dailymail.
Sunak has just announced a general election so no doubt that will remove everything else from the headlines

Scirocco · 22/05/2024 17:39

I'm assuming you're referring to the video of the young women assaulted and taken hostage from the observer station, which was just released?

If so, yes, I've seen it.

Those brave young women must be returned home. They and all the other hostages are in my thoughts and every day I hope for progress to be made for their safe return.

Those cowardly, inadequate thugs with guns, brutalising and killing women, are scum and should face justice for their actions. I believe that, even if some may escape justice in this life, they will face justice when they die.

By who?

By the people saying & putting on flags and banners 'resistance is justified' in direct relation to what happened on October 7th.

Plenty of people described 7th Oct as an act of resistance by brave freedom fighters, so presumably them.

0palfruitsalad74 · 22/05/2024 18:23

I can't see any mention of it on the BBC. Has anyone seen it on the main news channels/ outlets in the UK?

I saw it shared on twitter and have no desire to watch it, I can't even bear the thought of it. But I feel it should be reported on.

We've bbc news on in our office all day - didn't see mention of it.

ssd · 22/05/2024 18:32

I haven't seen this reported anywhere but it sounds absolutely horrific. I can't even imagine their suffering, its utterly horrendous. I don't know why this isn't being reported on the news.

But you do yourself no favours referring to the bleeding left. Do you really think anyone bar a few nutcases, isn't totally appalled by this??

I don't know anyone who wouldn't be.

ssd · 22/05/2024 18:33

@Muthaofcats , who is shrugging, who is justifying this??

I don’t see many horrified by it tbh.

even amongst my own social network, it goes unmentioned in the same way 7/10 was. Even before Israel had had a chance to respond there was nothing. I saw no posts on social media or mention in conversations, and these are all left leaning westerners who are active and Vocal on so many other global issues. They were outraged at George floyd, they cried for Ukraine, they hosted Ukrainian refugees! They are mortified by the Rwanda scheme, they protest for Gaza. And yet….on this…. Silence.

I don’t see any of the people posting about ceasefires etc ever ever mention the plight of the people affected by Hamas atrocities. The only people I see raising it are Jewish if I’m honest.

the most you’ll get is ‘oh yes it’s obviously horrific’ from people when you mention but they’re quick to shut it down.

someone above mentioned seeing it widely reported but I’ve looked and really can’t see it anywhere on mainstream British media.

Every word of this. My networks are generally pretty vocal about stuff. Tumbleweed pretty much across the social media board on October 7th, 8th.....with a few honourable & predictable exceptions. My Jewish friends were too traumatised so I did not expect posts but everyone else is usually falling over themselves to set their stall out on any given issue. I contacted my Jewish friends after a small amount of time. Without exception they said a few non-Jewish friends had been in touch but mostly nothing. And nothing much has changed.

ChickyBricky · 22/05/2024 18:56

What I tend to see is people paying lip service, in passing, to the horror of the atrocities committed by Hamas, all while insisting that Israel's response is disproportionate and that the IDF are "the real terrorists."

They flood thread after thread after thread with trauma-porn images from Gaza, go into gruesome detail about the suffering of dying babies, and copy/paste comments from social media and dubious news outlets without any analysis or comment of their own, as though no one else has access to the internet and they are performing an important public broadcast service. Sometimes I can't help wondering if these are bots working in Hamas's interests, although I suppose most of it is just lazy posters bouncing around in their echo chamber.

I was born shortly after WW2 and have always felt grateful that the Allied forces managed to defeat Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, etc so that I could live in a peaceful world. Now, fascism is raising its ugly head again in ways I could never have dreamed in my worst nightmares. I just worry about where it will end, or rather how it will end, or indeed whether it will end, given that every detail is picked over on social media in a way that would not have been possible with, say, the bombing of Dresden.

PurpleChrayn · 22/05/2024 18:57

Not a single one of my non-Jewish friends has spoken about October 7, either to me or publicly. I am a British Jew married to an Israeli.

The feminist group I used to be a part of hasn't said a word about this latest video.

Blackcats7 · 22/05/2024 19:00

I had someone on a media fb group telling me the hamas rapes were all actually carried out by israeli soldiers in disguise to discredit hamas.
This is the level of denial which exists because it is not fashionable or acceptable on social media to give any credence to jewish people’s pain.
