It is so sad. Where is the baby’s waiting hug? Pray that it gets picked up and loved, and peace comes.

Efacsen · 22/04/2024 13:16

i don' t know if this will post properly - film of the little girl in NICU at Emirati hospital - she's only 30 weeks gestation and will go to live with aunts/uncles or her grandmother in 4-6 weeks time

May she find love and peace with them.

Parkingt111 · 22/04/2024 13:36

@Efacsen those doctors are angels. I'm so glad she atleast has some family left who can care for her

Efacsen · 22/04/2024 13:42

Absolutely agree @Parkingt111 and also the NICU looks in a better state than it did a few weeks ago

KestrelMoon · 22/04/2024 17:50

The independent investigation into UNWRA regarding the allegations of collusion with and employees being members of Hamas is supposed to be published today.

Hi @Eyesopenwideawake as we're nearing the 1k mark, just wondering if you're creating another thread?

anotherlevel · 22/04/2024 18:30

Thanks @Efacsen

Thank you Rabbi Lara Haft
“At this year’s seder, the same war criminals who have forced Palestinian families to flee their homes will lift up their matzah and wax poetic about the Israelites’ rush to escape Egypt. The same politicians who have manufactured a famine in Gaza, leading millions to the brink of starvation, will proudly declare: “Let all who are hungry come and eat.”

This is the third open letter by MSF, doctors without borders

"MSF Staff see first hand the devastation caused by these weapons. One MSF surgeon has talked about dressing the wounds of babies who had lost their legs - babies who never learned to walk and who never will"

This is the reality of what Israel is doing (part 2)

An 8 year old boy. His name is Adam.

I remember when the videos of this poor child first came out and the disgraceful thread here discussing it. I'm so glad Adam hasn't been forgotten about and people have taken the time to look into his killing.

Parkingt111 · 02/05/2024 14:04

@TextureSeeker I remember too, some people were actually saying it was his fault/his parents fault, everyone else's fault except for the soldier who actually point blank shot him dead.

That thread really impacted me. It was the first thread on this board that really made me realise that some people just don't see Palestinian children as children like theirs. And worse than that they felt no shame at all in holding that view.

Scirocco · 02/05/2024 16:43

@TextureSeeker people didn't see a Palestinian child as a child, just as there are a not-insignificant number of people who broaden that out to Arab children or even Muslim children, seeing only threats, either today or tomorrow.

Auvergne63 · 02/05/2024 16:46

In order to see a Palestinian child as a child, you need to see Palestinians as humans first.
The Israeli government/IDF do not.

PeasfullPerson · 02/05/2024 17:27

It’s such an upsetting story @Scirocco I’m pleased to see it in the BBC. His little face is 💔

I think that's a dangerously inflammatory rhetoric and way of thinking. It divides people into " us" and " them" and given the current climate in the UK, I'm not convinced it's a helpful thing to say. Why do you believe that Muslim children are seen as ' threats, either today or tomorrow '? Who is saying that?

Well, that's what some people express to me, fairly regularly, and how some people treat children I know, including children in my own family. I'm not sure how it's more dangerously inflammatory for me to not keep quiet about it, than for people to express it.

A large group of displaced children wait for a meal in Gaza as Israeli warplanes bomb above them.
