Conflict in the Middle East

To find the silence about UNRWA being Hamas hypocritical

Muthaofcats · 28/01/2024 07:35

I entirely understand the discomfort seeing images coming out of Gaza; but what I don’t get is those who choose to post about it on social media or campaign expressing their horror but being totally SILENT after October 7th (before Israeli had even responded), after evidence of the sexual violence suffered by those murdered in Israel and now, after finding out that UNWRA who they have all been sending donations to, are actually Hamas who perpetrated the atrocities.

Where is the outrage from these people at UNRWA?

Why are none of these vocal people not screaming from the roof tops at how horrendous this is !?! If it was true you care about humanity, why aren’t you horrified to learn you’ve all been donating to an organisation so closely linked to the rape and murder of innocent civilians ? (And this isn’t the first time unrwa has been linked to Hamas; their HQ is a Hamas building and they’ve famously been linked to training terrorists in their schools / got into hot water for removing the hollocaust from their curriculum)

if you are one of those white privileged women who posts on social media about a cease fire (I’m talking to those of you who have never been to the ME, or studied ME history and never taken up the cause of any of the other global conflicts); why is your outrage so one sided and blinkered ? Why don’t you acknowledge the horrors of the Israeli/ Jewish people too ? If you’re really the virtuous person you purport to be by taking up this cause, why don’t you care ? Or do you believe what Hamas did and are doing and promising to keep doing (murder all Jews) is justified ?

Genuinely find it bewildering.

I think so, too. There has definitely been quite a shift in reporting tone

I’ve literally noticed this in the last 2 days too - bbc tone seems very clearly leaning in one direction.

Certainly raising big questions for Israel and Netanyahu will have to respond carefully and tread even more carefully if they want to retain support from allies.

The reports, if true, don’t look good and don’t help the anti Israel sentiment which would be a real shame given this is about an atrocity committed towards them.

I just desperately hope in the same way people expect a distinction to be made between Hamas and innocent Palestinians, that people don’t use reports like this to justify further hatred of Jewish people because it won’t help anyone.

There is always a choice. Not to rape, murder, burn and take people hostage.

Yes, people seem to think it's an understandable response to oppression?! I have family who weren't allowed to attend university (because they were Jewish) and also weren't allowed to visit other cities (because they were Jewish) who then also were frequently arrested and interrogated by the police and military (because they were Jewish) and then some were hanged in the town square (for being Jewish) while others had to flee their home country (because they were Jewish...) leaving everything they owned behind. At no point did any of them rape, murder, burn or take any hostages.

Poor man. He's right about not being able to understand the mindset of a jihadist.

Harrowing

Limeandsodaontherocks · 10/02/2024 17:09

There can be no justification for shooting at a car full of fleeing civilians

quantumbutterfly · 10/02/2024 17:12

It is certainly a tragedy.

There is a thread about Hind.

Allegedly a large data centre has been found below UNRWA headquarters in Gaza City:

quantumbutterfly · 10/02/2024 18:49

Hopefully they can clean some useful intelligence from it.
What are the chances of it being the only one though....

That's so surprising.

SomeCatFromJapan · 10/02/2024 18:52

Here's the Times of Israel report:

Muthaofcats · 10/02/2024 19:21

Oh my…
UNRWA servers and electricity is connected to Hamas data center below, showing UNRWA was well aware of the center. They’re literally feeding it power. And they’re sharing office space above ground (!)

@Muthaofcats you are aware that as well as the armed division that has created havoc and partaken in atrocities, Hamas is also the local government. It keeps the register of citizens (as required by Israel, among others), empties the dustbins, sorts sewerage, and all those boring day to day things.
Basically Hamas unitary council is a thing. UNWRA and the local government probably share loads of information.

cindyhove · 10/02/2024 19:49

And to be clear - the power (electricity) was coming directly from the UNWRA buildings/ had office/ school

Well -yes - so It’s not too hard to believe that UNRWA and Hamas might be almost interchangeable…

Edited

I was hesitant on using this info as I'm sure it will not be accepted by any other than logical people who understand the dynamic

Muthaofcats · 10/02/2024 21:07

Yep I had got the popcorn out and sat back waiting for how the Hamas apologists were going to excuse this one. So far we’ve had ‘yes but Hamas is the government so of course unrwa are linked to Hamas duh’ ; which I can’t tell is in support of the point that unrwa are corrupt or trying to defend them 😂😂😂

It's an attempt at normalising terrorism. I've seen a lot of that on here. They want us to just accept the existence of terrorists as par for the course. It's incredibly weird.

SomeCatFromJapan · 10/02/2024 21:13

Hamas seems to be the government of Gaza when it suits but also nothing much to do with Gaza when that's more convenient.

stomachameleon · 10/02/2024 21:27

@Humdingerydoo how strange! :/ it's as if Israel was telling the truth all along!

@Humdingerydoo how strange! :/ it's as if Israel was telling the truth all along!

Like the video we were shown with a calendar with the names of the terrorists … and then it was proven that what they showed us wasn’t enough proof?
like the entry to the Hamas tunnels video that was in fact an entry to a water tank?
like the video we were shown with the laptop and cds. Only. A laptop that didn’t have cd entry ?
like the documents shown to channel 4 and sky news that proof that urnwa had links with Hamas?

probably many of us we are waiting to see more than what has been said today. We’ve seen one too many confusing proof from idf so we’d rather get the full picture before we jump into conclusions. But yes Israel is always right.
