@SomeCatFromJapan So the option is to make a stand and be jailed or exiled, leave the country, or put your fingers in your ears and pretend its not happening for a quiet life. I know what I would do.
@Stomacharmeleon What exactly is an awful thing to say? Why are people not allowed to say what they think whether or not they are from a place of privilege? So people from countries that are not oppressive and volatile are not allowed to be disgusted at civilians not making a stand against their own, democratically voted in government?
I thought the West praised Israel for being a democracy - what you are both saying is that Israel is, in fact, a dictatorship with zero freedom of speech?
I do come from a country that is not currently at war and I feel extremely fortunate that it is highly unlikely I will ever have to experience war in person. That doesn't mean I can't be disgusted at the atrocities happening on every continent in the world. I can be disgusted at the genocide taking place. I can and I will stand will the people of Palestine whether my government allow it or not.
